This study empirically investigates customer perception towards providing nutritional information in Malaysian full service restaurants menu. Results reveal that nutritional information is important and the major nutrition elements such as calories, protein, fat and dietary fiber is the minimum information desired by customers in the restaurant menu. Nutritional information in fact directly influences restaurant customers’ future purchase decisions. These findings produced significant indicators not only to the existing restaurant operators but also to those individuals or companies who intend to venture into this so called booming sub- sectors of food service businesses. In addition, attaining customer needs lead to repeat patronization and in the long run, contributes to restaurant business survival. This study aims to provide and identify the best tools for measuring the quality of food service in Malaysian hospitals. The discussion focuses on the models used to evaluate the performance of food service operation in hospitals, as well as review critiques, issues, and the latest findings. Many tools have been introduced in the previous studies. However, the decision about the best fit tool to measure the quality of hospital food service is still unclear. Future study should be conducted, and an empirical test that examines various dimensions, such as food and meal service quality, staff/service issues and physical environment must be considered in the evaluation.Keywords: hospital food service; patients’ satisfaction; measurement tool; performanceeISSN: 2398-4287 © 2019. The increasing of chronic diseases associated with imbalance and substantive nutritional intake witness the awakening concern among restaurant customers. Studies revealed that customers positively valued the availability of nutritional information in the full service restaurant menu. However, the extent of restaurateurs’ willingness and obstacles in providing the nutritional information in restaurant menu has not been widely explored. This study empirically investigates the Malaysian full service restaurateurs’ responsiveness towards providing nutritional information in the menu. Result demonstrates there is a slight disparity between the serious concerns of customers with the operators’ responsiveness particularly on certain issues. Safe and hygienic food add value to food intake and prevent undesirable health conditions. Food handlers who are at the forefront of the food service process must monitor and measure the standards of their food hygiene and its preparation and cooking practices. This study investigates how ready food handlers at on-site premises are for self-regulatory practices. Food surface contacts were chosen for investigation via purposive sampling and swab analysis to unravel hidden messages about the level of hygiene standards in the foodservice operation. The findings reveal the existence of contamination across the majority of the selected contact surfaces that could affect the consumers’ well-being and quality of life.Keywords: consumer well-being; food hygiene; food surface contact; food handler; the on-site premise eISSN: 2398-4287 © 2019. This study explores the practice of financial interdependence among Malay older people who live in the community in Malaysia. Eleven Malay older people participated in this qualitative study by an in-depth interview. The data was analyzed using six stages of the interpretative phenomenological analysis. Two main themes emerged from the interview transcripts are issues regarding living expenses and financial assistance. Financial interdependence is one of the most effective ways for the Malay older people in the community in Malaysia to adapt their retired status, to achieve maximum life satisfaction and productivity thereby improving their overall quality of life.Keywords: Financial interdependence, Older people, Quality of life, Interpretative phenomenological analysisISSN: 2398-4287© 2017. Tourism is a sector that always has a dynamic movement which will benefit the local community. Lumban Suhi-suhi is a tourist village famous for its ulos on Samosir Island that has become one of the tourist attraction. Due to the limitations of facilities arrangement make it becomes less of the attraction itself. Therefore, the environment-based mechanism becomes one of the concepts that will be applied to improve the tourist facilities in which could increase tourists in that area. The rapid increase in solid waste is a major environmental problem and recycling is argued to be a better solution to the problem. However, there is a broad agreement that there is a gap between the increasing awareness for recycling and the recycling behaviour among the consumers. The aim of this study is to investigate the recycling behaviour among 62 residents of Tioman Island. A structured questionnaire that included 33 items is used to obtain the data. The findings show a significant relationship between recycling behaviour and collectivism; a positive, weak relationship with recycling attitudes; and a negative relationship with materialism. This paper attempts to explore the manifestations of the forest in the lives of the Bateks who reside within the vast region of the Taman Negara National Park in Pahang, Peninsular Malaysia. Such manifestations emerged from the mutual relationship between the Bateks and their surroundings of the forest. In the Bateks belief system, there exist the concept of Lawad, Ye’ Yo’ and Tum Yap; all of which represent the Bateks’ unique way of giving value to the forest. Lawad, Ye’ Yo’ and Tum Yap are the manifestations of how the Bateks navigate themselves in the forest. The Bateks see that the forest represents a dynamic dimension which has to be calmed through good spirits and behavior because the physical environment is a medium for the spiritual world to express its feelings, thinking, decisions, and punishments. This belief is to them the best way in endearing themselves to the environment. To the Bateks, all concerns for the forest could be settled through this belief. © 2016 The Author. There is a close relationship between the creation of urban spaces and ergonomics. To make new stimulating and satisfying urban spaces, ergonomics criteria should consider. In this study, two main urban squares from Istanbul examined. Selected urban squares evaluated by site observation according to the classified ergonomics criteria. Strong and weak points of chosen squares discussed and some suggestions proposed. Environmental stewardship starts with education. This paper aims to discuss how preschools can be used to nurture environmental stewards among Malaysian children. In summary, elements of preschool physical environments can be manipulated to enhance environmental education while landscape elements such as vegetation and topography can be manipulated to maximize interaction with nature. Effective interaction with nature is the most important factor to ensure environmental awareness. Findings are useful for Malaysian designers and policy makers to ensure that preschool’s physical settings support environmental education to respond to climate change and preserve the planet for future generations.© 2016. The extraordinary societal challenges demand cities to be innovative and adaptable to the needs of urban citizens. In the Malaysian context, the Blue-Green Infrastructure (BGI) has not been well incorporated into the ULLs. This paper seeks to address this gap by exploring the potential of the Blue-Green Urban Living Labs (BGULLs) at the Sungai Bunus catchment area. Using Google Form, survey questionnaire is conducted among professionals and the public.
