Abstract To comprehensively reuse copper ore tailings, the recovery of γ-Fe2O3 from magnetic roasted slag after sulfur release from copper ore tailings followed by magnetic separation is performed. In this work, after analysis of chemical composition and mineralogical phase composition, the effects of parameters in both magnetization roasting and magnetic separation process with respect to roasting temperature, residence time, airflow, particle size distribution, magnetic field intensity, and the ratio of sodium dodecyl sulfonate to roasted slag were investigated. Under optimum parameters, a great number of γ-Fe2O3 is recycled with a grade of 66.86% and a yield rate of 67.21%. Meanwhile, the microstructure, phase transformation and magnetic property of copper ore tailings, roasted slag, and magnetic concentrate are carried out.

Iron sand samples were taken from the top layer of the Tegal Lenga beach sand. It was purified by the Magnetic Separation method, it was found that the average weight fraction of the Tegal Lenga beach iron sand is 54.71%. With X-ray flouresence (XRF) characterization obtined that the minerals oxide contained in the iron sand of the Tegal Lenga beach are magnesium diiron (III) oxide (MgFe2O4), silicare alumina calcium alumina alumina (Ca (Mg0.5 Al0.5) (Al0.5Si1.5O6)), and iron iron (III) titanium aluminum magnesium vanadium manganese silicon oxide (Fe4.42Fe5.245Ti4.72Al0.7 Mg0.4Cr0.3V0.15Fe7.82Mn0.114Si0.05O6) with the volume fraction of each compound are 62.95%, 39.78%, and 39.74%

In this paper, the mineral properties of the lean magnetite in RongTian mine corporation was studied, during which the analysis of the mineral properties, prelimenary separation on the lump mine, two-section grinding, one section fine screening and three-section low intensity magnetic separation process were carried out. The results showed that if the suitable mineral processing flowsheet is adapted, we can achieved such index:concentrate grade of 63.65%, Fe recovery of 47.12% based on the ore grade of 10.05%.. According to the experimental result analysis, most of the iron minerals could be used to support the steel production of LingGang Group.Single magnetic process proved to be an suitable and promising process to conduct the fine particles of lean magnitite.
