Abstract: Modern study about utilizing energy from renewable energy sources was stimulus due to emerging oil crisis in older days due to uncontrolled use of conventional energy sources. Renewable Power Generation from wind and solar energy has become a significant proportion for the overall power generation in the grid. High penetration of Renewable Power Generation (RPG’s) effectreliable operation of bulk power system due to fluctuation of frequency and voltage of the network. The main objectives of high penetration of Renewable Power Generations in distribution system are Regulation of voltage, Mitigating voltage fluctuations due to flickers and Frequency control. The design and control of voltage regulation system using smart loads (SL’s) under large penetration of renewable energy system in distribution level is to be studied with the help of FACT devices like Static Compensator (STATCOM) and It is one of the fast active devices with accurate voltage regulation capability and most importantly for the sensitive/critical loads. Electric spring (ES) is proposed as compelling technique for guideline of framework voltage under fluctuating RPG's with next to no guide of correspondence framework [1]. It is a converter-based framework with self-commutated switches in span design, which is associated with non-basic burdens in series to go about as savvy load. These Smart Loads are controlled to direct voltage across basic burdens and hence partaking popular side administration. Expanded entrance of RPG’s, basically factor speed wind energy transformation framework is having impact on voltage and power quality [1][2]. In this paper, A contextual analysis of impact of variable speed wind energy framework on voltage is completed and which is demonstrated with fluctuating breeze speed. Execution examination of keen burdens are to be contrasted and existing receptive power compensator burdens and Improvement in voltage profile on test feeder is directed on a 3 Bus system and 15 Bus system. Keywords: Renewable energy system (RES), Electric spring (ES), STATCOM, Voltage Flicker, Smart load

The urgency of developing renewable power generation in Russia is associated with the presence of a large number of regions with a low degree of electrification. More than two-thirds of the territory of Russia is located in the area of decentralized power supply, where the main source of energy is imported diesel fuel or associated gas from local fields. At present, one of the directions for the development of renewable power generation in Russia is the implementation of a hybrid power supply system for autonomous power systems of remote regions. However, along with the possibility of using renewable energy sources, it is important for such regions to generate heat from co-generation of diesel power plants, since there is an urgent problem of heat supply for remote regions, especially located in the Far North of Russia. This article presents an analysis of the influence of using renewable energy sources in autonomous power systems on co-generation of diesel power plants.

AbstractThe operation of conventional power plants in the 2030 high-renewable energy system of central Europe with high penetration of renewables is simulated in this work. Novel insights are gained in this work, since the generation, transmission and demand models have high geographic resolution, down to scale of individual units, with hourly temporal resolution. It is shown that the increases in the partload efficiency that optimize gas power plants’ financial performance in 2030 are highly dependent on the variability in power production of renewable power plants that are in close proximity to the gas power plants. While coal power plants are also cycled more, an increased baseload efficiency is more beneficial for their financial viability. Thus, there is a need for OEMs to offer a wide range of technology solutions to cover all customers’ needs in electricity markets with high penetrations of renewables. Therefore there is an increased investment risk for OEMs as they strive to match their customers’ future needs.

Solar and wind energy systems are attractive hybrid renewable energy systems suitable for various applications and most commonly for power generation. Compared to standalone wind and solar devices, hybrid systems have several advantages, including requiring lesser or no storage devices, being more reliable, damping the daily and seasonal variations and ensuring constant energy flows. This work aims to conduct a feasibility study and a performance analysis of a hybrid wind and solar photovoltaic (PV) power system in selected regions in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA). A detailed review on the potential of PV, wind energy and hybrid energy systems in KSA, to reason out the potential areas of study, has identified two sites to be selected to carry out the investigation. A small size power system driven by solar and wind energy has been modeled and simulated for a year period in the selected locations. Various configuration schemes of integrated solar and wind with storage devices for such a small capacity system have been proposed and their respective performances have been evaluated. Techno-economic aspects have been included. The simulation results indicated that the developed model shows a promising future of implementing the renewable energy system in the eastern and southern regions of the Kingdom.

Abstract European energy system is undergoing a deep transition to low-emission energy sources, mainly wind farms. This transition is caused mostly by energy politics of European Union (EU) and its goals in the topic of renewable energy. European wind energy is dominated by Germany that produces half of total wind energy in EU. The aim of this article is to present support systems for wind farms existing in Germany in the context of introducing in Poland the Act of 20 May 2016 on Wind Energy Investments limiting onshore wind farms localization and Act of 22 June 2016 introducing changes to the Act on Renewable Energy Sources (RES) and some other acts. It is postulated to make amendments of acts regulating RES while considering German solutions.

Nowadays, renewable power generation has transformed to an important substitute to conventional power generation and severe the energy crisis of present-days. Apace thriving manufacturing division is swelling day by day and their energy marketability is also advancing. The potential of renewable energy is inclining every year, so the integration pace of renewable power in the system has inclined. However, influenced by meteorological and environmental terms and conditions the efficiency of renewable power generation often switches randomly, which disturbs the balance of power and voltage tenacity of power system. Also power precent is a giant contributor in green house gas emissions. United nation 17 sustainable development goals encourage enhancing the capability of power generation by utilizing industrial revolution 4.0 features. Industrial revolution 4.0 main factors are eco friendly and free gas emissions energy. Due to the renewable energy regulation introduced by the government under Alternative Energy Development Board to generate electricity from natural resources rather than fossil fuel. In this frame work industrial revolution 4.0 facilitate for extensive integration of renewable power into the network which is a massive task for power system operators and also for renewable energy farms to dispatch the power and taking critical actions. Industrial revolution 4.0 provides different pillars to overcome these issues likewise interoperability connects machine, objects and humans through internet of things to make smart grids. Uncertainty is the biggest challenge in renewable energy which can’t be eliminated but it can be manageable by virtualization. Through cyber physical system, computational proficiency and physical assets are interconnected for transformation advancement in the system, smart decision acquire to form a reliable and accurate data.
