This study aims to develop employee organizations' role in implementing risk management in public sector organizations. This study's character uses several indicators, including values, attitudes, interests, and religion. The research was conducted at public sector organizations in the non-profit category, Infaq Amal Zakat and Shodaqoh Muhammadiyah (LAZISMU) in Malang City. The research method used is grounded theory research with a qualitative approach, in which data research uses structured and open interview techniques. The collected data will be analyzed using grounded theory analysis techniques. The study results found several factors, as seen from their abilities, values, attitudes, interests, and religiosity, in supporting the implementation of risk management in Malang. These characteristics include working with time, the right placement of human resources, mastery of job descriptions, information, ability, and transfer of knowledge, in terms of values, including cooperation, responsibility, democracy, solidarity, humanity, honesty, order, and discipline. In terms of attitude, including being wise, with integrity, cooperative, open, and selective. In terms of interest, it is shown by being participatory, actualizing, and proactive.Meanwhile, in terms of religiosity, it includes the mandate to carry out duties, desire in preaching, and personal needs to fill charity activities with full volunteerism.

The aim of the study is to find out a successful way of managing the organizational change in public sector organizations. The research is based on a structured questionnaire survey. The data was collected in some of the top public sector organizations in Pakistan. The study suggests that Stress, Trust, and Ethics have a strong relationship with Organizational Change Management. Organizations must minimize the workplace stress, maximize trust of workers on management and organization and ensure ethics for organization change management. The managerial implication of the research is, bringing and making any organizational change is very difficult without employee-friendly working environment of the organization. The results of the study make it easy, how to put employees on the right track for achieving organizational goals and objectives in any Organizational Change by using Facilitation.

Abstract Background Self-medication (SM) is a common and global health problem. The process of attempting SM is still unclear. Exploration of SM and its contributing factors would help policymakers design and develop preventive programs. This qualitative study aimed to explore the process of attempting SM among Iranian people. Methods This grounded theory (GT) study was conducted among people with the experience of attempting SM (n = 17) and medical staff (n = 9) in Iran selected via semi-structured interviews. The recorded and transcribed interviews were analyzed using open, axial, and selective coding based on Strauss and Corbin’s (1998) approach. Results The study results revealed that people sought to deal as simply and quickly as possible with their illnesses/symptoms according to their attitudes towards and perceptions of illnesses/symptoms as well as their economic and social problems. This simple and quick approach was the participants’ main concern, resulting in taking decision-making strategies as SM facilitators. SM, in turn, provided short-term improvement and temporary satisfaction as a predominant outcome. Overall, “to avoid being trapped in the vortex of illness” was the central category, which covered and connected all the other categories developed in this study. Conclusions The elements of this model could be used as a guide for healthcare policymakers to design preventive programs and to plan for increasing people’s knowledge about the complications and consequences of SM. In addition, identification of barriers to referral to physicians and treatment of illnesses through the right way as well as reducing the health system’s problems would help reduce SM.

This paper describes the current stage of the development of the ministries’ risk management systems, considering the demands and orientations given by the Joint Normative Instruction MP/CGU n. 01/2016 and the Public Governance Decree (Decree n. 9.203, of November 22, 2017, altered by the Decree n. 9.901, of July 8, 2019). With the intention of identifying how each ministry has been managing the risks that aim at ensuring that the goals of the public policies and the strengthening of their own governance structures will be met, this research formulated indicators that allow cases to be described, based on the recommendations of national and international standards of governance and risk management. The results show that Brazilian ministerial risk management is still incipient, due to the fragile institutionalization associated with political-administrative instability. There is still a need for institutionalizing a culture of risk management and mainly, adopting a long-term perspective in the public sector organizations so that consistent risk management systems can be effectively implemented.

Purpose The purpose of this paper is to examine the impact of organizational culture on trust in top management and career satisfaction. The concept of culture was split into four types: “clan,” “adhocracy,” “hierarchy” and “market.” Design/methodology/approach A self-administered questionnaire was used to collect data from 128 mid-level managers in ten public sector organizations in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The questionnaire included demographic questions and three established scales to measure culture type, trust in top management and career satisfaction. Correlation and regression analysis were used to examine relationships between variables. Findings Respondents from “clan” and “adhocracy”-type organizations tended to have more trust in top managers than those from other culture types. Respondents from “clan”-type organizations also had greater career satisfaction. Only a clan-type organizational culture significantly predicted career satisfaction. Research limitations/implications The study is based on a small number of mid-level managers working in ten public sector organizations. This limits the generalizability of the results. Future studies should examine both public and private sector organizations operating in various industries across the UAE, to increase the generalizability of the findings. The study results will assist organizational policy makers who wish to transform their organizational culture to one that will increase the career satisfaction of managerial staff and their trust in senior managers. Originality/value The study contributes to the literature on organizational culture, particularly on the relationship between trust and career satisfaction in the public sector in the UAE.
