The charged Higgs production associated with a W± boson has a smooth cross-section as a function of the charged Higgs mass at muon colliders. The cross-section in minimal supersymmetric standard model (MSSM) is about 25 fb in the range 200 GeV < mH± <400 GeV with tan β = 50. This is much larger than the corresponding cross-section at an e+e- collider which reaches a fraction of femtobarn. The observability of this charged Higgs production at a muon collider has been recently studied in an earlier work leading to the result that with 1 ab-1, a 5σ signal can be observed throughout the aforementioned mass range. In this paper, results of a study based on a general two Higgs doublet model (types II and III) are presented and the cross-section of the charged Higgs production in the most sensitive parameter space is evaluated. It is concluded that the cross-section increases with increasing neutral Higgs boson masses involved in the s-channel diagram and can be as large as several picobarn with tan β = 50. The region of "physical Higgs boson mass" parameter space which could lead to a 5σ signal at 50 fb-1 is specified.

We present the results of a search for a neutral MSSM Higgs boson decaying to a pair of tau leptons. The analyzed data sample corresponds to integrated luminosity of approximately 200 pb-1 of [Formula: see text] collisions at [Formula: see text]. It was collected by the CDF detector during Run 2 of the Fermilab Tevatron. We select tau pairs in which one of the taus decays hadronically and the other to e or μ and neutrinos. We see no evidence of signal and perform a fit to the (partially) reconstructed di-tau mass to set limits on the product of Higgs production cross-section and its branching fraction to taus.

We propose a novel mechanism for exclusive diffractive Higgs production pp → Hpp, in which the Higgs carries a significant fraction of the projectile proton's momentum. This mechanism will then provide a clear experimental signal for Higgs production, due to the small background in this kinematic region. The key assumption underlying our analysis is the presence of intrinsic charm (IC) and intrinsic bottom (IB) fluctuations in the proton bound state, whose existence, at high light-cone momentum fraction x, has a substantial and growing experimental and theoretical support.

Abstract The prospects of observing the non-resonant di-Higgs production in the Standard Model at the proposed high energy upgrade of the LHC, viz. the HE-LHC ($$ \sqrt{s} $$ s = 27 TeV and ℒ = 15 ab−1) is studied. Various di-Higgs final states are considered based on their cleanliness and production rates. The search for the non-resonant double Higgs production at the HE-LHC is performed in the $$ b\overline{b}\gamma \gamma $$ b b ¯ γγ , $$ b\overline{b}{\tau}^{+}{\tau}^{-} $$ b b ¯ τ + τ − , $$ b\overline{b}{WW}^{\ast } $$ b b ¯ WW ∗ , WW∗γγ, $$ b\overline{b}{ZZ}^{\ast } $$ b b ¯ ZZ ∗ and $$ b\overline{b}{\mu}^{+}{\mu}^{-} $$ b b ¯ μ + μ − channels. The signal-background discrimination is performed through multivariate analyses using the Boosted Decision Tree Decorrelated (BDTD) algorithm in the TMVA framework, the XGBoost toolkit and Deep Neural Network (DNN). The variation in the kinematics of Higgs pair production as a function of the self-coupling of the Higgs boson, λh, is also studied. The ramifications of varying λh on the $$ b\overline{b}\gamma \gamma $$ b b ¯ γγ , $$ b\overline{b}{\tau}^{+}{\tau}^{-} $$ b b ¯ τ + τ − and $$ b\overline{b}{WW}^{\ast } $$ b b ¯ WW ∗ search analyses optimized for the SM hypothesis is also explored.
