Games-based learning takes advantage of gaming technologies to create a fun, motivating, and interactive virtual learning environment that promotes situated experiential learning. Many researchers now believe that this approach can better motivate present day entertainment-driven learners to more thoroughly engage in learning through meaningful activities defined in the game context as opposed to those offered using more traditional didactic approaches. This chapter describes games-based learning, the related terms and scope, current approaches, embedded pedagogies and challenges for providing high-quality education in the 21st Century.

This article describes how due to the globalization activities, where competition is very intense and economic, technological and international environmental elements are also very active and uncertain. In the 21st century, the concept “management” stands out so that all institutions, including health institutions, can see their present and future locations, anticipate opportunities and threats, adapt to all the changes that have taken place, make their services more effective and sustain their success. Organizations need leaders who are open to teamwork, encouraging, creative, sociable, energetic, attaching importance to their subordinates' feelings, thoughts, needs and expectations, taking care to develop high quality relations with their subordinates and respecting their subordinates. Within the scope of the study, the understanding of leadership in health institutions and the importance of leadership are emphasized; the effects of leadership on the motivation, satisfaction and performance of the employees

South Torgai basin is located in the south of and is the youngest oil and gas region discovered in Kazakhstan at the end of the last century. Shallow depths of reservoirs containing high-quality sulfurless oil are the main incentive for a return in the search for new deposits in the basin They are carried out according to the method developed on the basis of the hypothesis of the sedimentary genesis of oil. New data on the structure of the basin and its productivity obtained already at the beginning of the 21st century indicate that deep oil deposits are also found in the basin, which significantly increases the prospects for the discovery of new deposits and oil and gas fields in the region

This article describes the “Dictionary of Economics” in terms of the Function Theory of Lexicography. It defends the thesis that such information tools must be designed for assisting specific users to solve the specific needs they have in a translation situation. In particular, I will focus on the solutions offered for individualising data retrieval, which will in turn eliminate the so-called information stress or information death produced when users retrieve so much data that they cannot cope with it. This process is illustrated in two recent online dictionaries, the Diccionario Inglés-Español de Contabilidad: Traducción (Fuertes-Olivera et al. 2012a) and the Diccionario Inglés-Español de Contabilidad: Traducción de Frases y Expresiones (Fuertes-Olivera et al. 2012b). They are especially suitable when translating English accounting texts into Spanish. These two dictionaries are considered high quality 21st Century dictionaries, e.g., as candidates for assisting in the training of professional translators within the field of Economics, one of the topics discussed in this Special Issue of Hermes.

This chapter summarises key themes across rural and remote dementia care internationally. It highlights consistent issues as well as innovations and points to note, across the three areas of policy, practice and research. The chapter concludes there is still significant work to be done in finding and translating new models for providing high quality rural dementia care and thus good experiences for people with dementia, carers and communities. The chapter throws down the gauntlet inviting more research and study in this area.
