<p><em>Leaders have their own unique and distinctive traits, habits, temperament, character, and personality so that their behavior and style can be distinguished from others. This style or lifestyle will color his behavior and type of leadership. Leadership refers to someone influencing the behavior of others for a purpose. With power, leaders can influence the behavior of their subordinates. This study aimed to determine the characteristics of leaders and effective leadership styles. Ideal leadership is a dream or a hope for every organization. There are 8 (eight) ideal leadership characteristics, namely: honest, intelligent, responsible, visionary, correct, disciplined behavior, initiative and, direct. Character is the key to an organization's success. An organization will move forward or backward depending on the leader. Because the leader is the one who directs and determines the organizational objectives to be achieved. The method used in this research is the study of literature or library research and by conducting observational studies from previous studies. Library research, Researchers study and collect data through several kinds of literature and reading sources that support and are relevant to research. In this case, literature research is carried out through books, magazines, internet.</em></p>

The Center for Disease Control (CDC) estimates that about 1 in 54 children have been identified with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). Autism occurs among all ethic, socioeconomic, and racial groups. With this nationwide prevalence, educational leadership, Principals, Vice Principals, and parents must be in a continuous state of learning about autism and the unique needs of their autistic learners. The chapter is dedicated to helping parents and educational leadership to understand each other's roles and responsibilities in regard to serving children and youth on the autism spectrum. First, the chapter will explore literature regarding unique leadership characteristics needed to support youth on the autism spectrum. Next, an overview of literature available regarding educational leaders' perspectives and strategies in supporting youth on the spectrum. Finally, suggestions and strategies for developing educational leaders that understand and cherish youth on the autism spectrum are given.

COVID-19 has resulted to global changes that have continued to instigate conflict in the hotel industry. This single exploratory qualitative case study purpose was to examined COVID 19 conflicts and emerging leadership characteristics during COVID 19 period at the Safari Park Hotel and Casino in Kenya. The target population of 20 departmental managers and sections from where a sample of seven participants was purposively drawn. In-depth interviews were conducted with participants from all departments and the data analyzed thematically. The findings revealed that conflicts were evident at individual, departmental, organizational, and externally with stakeholders. Finding further indicated that COVID 19 conflicts revolved around loss of income, employee relations, customer complaints and constrained resources. It was also found that leadership characteristic such as authentic, collaboration, innovation, and perseverance are critical during conflict. Unique contribution to theory, practice and policy is leadership development programs to incorporate conflict management, open and candid communication across the business, business leaders to balance between business needs and staff welfare as well as leaders to be provided with in service support that can complement their competencies in these critical leadership roles.

Abstract Nursing home leadership has been described as crucial for person-centred care and psychosocial climate, but longitudinal data are lacking. The significance of manager educational qualifications and operational model of nursing homes for perceived leadership, person-centred care and psychosocial climate also needs further exploration. This study aimed to explore changes in nursing home managers’ leadership, person-centred care and psychosocial climate comparing matched units in a five-year follow-up. Also, to explore changes in leadership characteristics’ and the significance of manager qualifications for perceived leadership, person-centred care and climate. Repeated cross-sectional, valid and reliable, measures of leadership, person-centred care, psychosocial climate and demographic variables were collected from managers and staff n=3605 in 2014 and n=2985 staff in 2019. Descriptive and regression analyses were used. Leadership remained significantly associated to person-centred care in a five-year follow-up, but no changes in strength of associations were seen. Leadership also remained significantly associated to psychosocial climate, with stronger associations at follow-up. Also, certain leadership characteristics significantly increased over time, thus, partly confirms previous findings. It was also shown that a targeted education for managers was significantly associated to person-centred care.

During the last three decades, significant research has been undertaken on the characteristics and relationships of the marketing organization with the implementation of strategies. These are the structure, culture, processes, and influence and leadership characteristics of the marketing institution. However, there has been little attention given to the human resources management policies of the marketing staff. These policies are one of the strongest sensations of people and organizations, when properly implemented, to conduct themselves correctly. In this study, we show that mid-level marketer implementation of HR policies differ substantially in the type of marketing strategy adopted by the companies. Companies with aligned enterprise and marketing strategies have achieved considerably stronger performance than companies with unequalled business and marketing strategies.

This study aims to examine the strategic leadership characteristics of Provincial Directors of Youth and Sports in terms of some variables. The sample group consists of 59 people serving as Provincial Directors of Youth and Sports in Turkey. The Strategic Leadership Questionnaire was used to collect data. SPSS 22.0 program was utilized to analyze the data obtained. According to demographic variables, one-way analysis of variance (One way Anova), Independent T-test and Pearson correlation analysis were used to compare the scores of the strategic leadership scale sub-dimension of the provincial directors of youth and sports participating in the study. As a result of the analyses, it has been determined that the provincial directors of youth and sports participating in the study use high levels of transformational leadership and managerial leadership, their ethical leadership and political leadership use levels are above the moderate level and their leadership effectiveness perceptions and corporate environment perceptions are above the moderate level. There is a positive relationship between Transformational leadership, Managerial leadership, Ethical leadership, Political leadership and Leadership effectiveness (p <0.05). However, there is no significant relationship between corporate environment perception and leadership effectiveness (p> 0.05). There is a positive relationship between perception level and corporate environment perception and it is below average (p <0.05).

El liderazgo directivo actualmente es considerado como parte fundamental en el quehacer educativo, dado que el director es la persona que se encarga de llevar la organización y el orden apoyado del personal docente y la comunidad educativa dentro de las instituciones. En esta investigación se tiene como propósito caracterizar el liderazgo transformacional de los directores de educación preescolar según la opinión de los docentes expertos del nivel. Para recabar los datos de dichas opiniones se aplicó una encuesta con escala Likert, la metodología es cuantitativa no experimental y descriptiva, realizando el análisis en el SPSS. Los resultados obtenidos indican que los profesores expertos de educación preescolar encuestados prefieren directivos carismáticos y se concluye que la principal característica del liderazgo transformacional de sus directivos es la inspiración y motivación que transmiten a sus equipos de trabajo. Abstract Today, leadership management is considered a fundamental part of educational endeavors, given that directors are the people entrusted to carry out a school’s order and organization with the support of their teaching staff and educational community within the institute. This research aims to specify transformational leadership traits in preschool directors defined by expert teachers in that level. To compile said opinions, we applied a survey with a Likert scale. The methodology used is non-experimental quantitative and descriptive and was performed with the application of an SPPSS. The results obtained indicate that expert pre-school teachers surveyed prefer charismatic directors. We conclude that principal transformational leadership characteristics which directors possess are, inspiration and motivation that they transmit to their workforce.

The leadership aspects of rural leaders in Malaysia are still unclear, and a consensus of the characteristics of credible rural community leaders has not been achieved. In addition, there is still a lack of specific and in-depth research on community leadership in rural areas in Malaysia. Therefore, a study was conducted to deepen understanding of leadership, specifically in the rural community leadership characteristics and success factors. The current study used a qualitative approach via a focus group discussion method involving 15 informants from the Village Development and Security Committee (JPKK) to gain in-depth information. The major themes that emerged from findings include inborn leadership, leadership quality, leadership characteristics, leadership motivation, and leadership training, referred to as leaders’ success factors. The current study hopes that the government can provide focused and comprehensive leadership training programs to ensure leaders perform their duties effectively and efficiently.

This paper aims to analyze transformational leadership characteristics in traditional and modern Islamic educational institutions by referring to four transformational features: idealized influence, inspirational motivation, intellectual stimulation, and individualized consideration. The method used is a qualitative method with a library research approach. Inductive data analysis describes data from facts and the field associated with the theory. Sources of data used are the results of literature from books and journals. The results of the study show that the characteristics of transformational leadership in the Salaf and modern Islamic boarding schools, among others; 1) Build creative ideas through vision and mission to achieve goals, become role models, and influence subordinates through their behavior and charisma; 2) Provide inspiration and motivation through a clear vision; 3) encourage subordinates to find practical ideas in solving problems; 4) understand and appreciate subordinates based on needs and pay attention to the desire to achieve and develop.
