This study is aimed at analyzing students' mathematical communication skills based on the results of observations, namely the ability of junior high school students. Subjects consisted of 20 students with categories using high, medium, and low grades. The method used is the Problem Based Learning approach. Data obtained from student results because of student tests and how students in finding mathematical communication solutions students who can solve problems and can solve mathematical problems well. But few students can solve problems because students perceive that mathematics learning is very difficult, especially mathematics communication material. After the treatment of Problem Based Learning, children's results are better than classes that use normal learning. With the increase in the authors concluded that the Problem Based Learning approach can be further investigated with a lot of practice. researchers hope that the Problem Based Learning approach can add insight to students.

Problem-solving ability is the ability to solve non-routine problems related to everyday life. Problem-solving learning more focuses on processes and strategies. So the process skills and strategies for solving a problem become the essential capability that must be owned in mathematics learning. The purpose of this study is to know the effect of problem-based learning approach to the problem-solving ability of junior high school students. The research method used in this research is the experimental method. The population taken in this research is all of VII grade student SMP Negeri 2 Cimahi. As a sample, the researcher took a random class, where grade VII-1 with the number of 34 students was used as the experimental class and class VII-2 with the total of 34 students used as control class. The instrument used in this research that is in the form of problem description of problem-solving ability mathematics consists of 5 item. The results of this study indicate that the problem-solving ability of the mathematical group of students whose learning using problem-based learning approaches better than the group of students whose learning using ordinary learning.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan Lembar Kerja Peserta Didik (LKPD) berbasis Problem-Based Learning (PBL) pada topik sudut yang layak. Penelitian pengembangan ini mengadopsi model pengembangan ADDIE dengan tahapan meliputi Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, dan Evaluation. Kualitas LKPD ditinjau dari penilaian ahli materi, ahli media, dan respon peserta didik. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan adalah angket ahli materi, angket ahli media, dan angket respon peserta didik. LKPD diujicobakan di kelas VII SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Yogyakarta dengan subjek sebanyak 32 peserta didik. LKPD yang dikembangkan memuat aktivitas pembelajaran sesuai langkah PBL, menyajikan masalah yang berkaitan dengan kehidupan sehari-hari di awal pembelajaran, dan dapat digunakan dalam pembelajaran online. Ditinjau dari aspek materi, LKPD dinilai baik dengan rerata skor penilaian oleh ahli materi yaitu 4,00. Ditinjau dari aspek media, LKPD dinilai baik dengan skor penilaian oleh ahli media sebesar 3,6. Respon peserta didik terhadap penggunaan LKPD termasuk pada kategori baik dengan rerata skor penilaian sebesar 4,05. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa LKPD berbasis PBL untuk SMP kelas VII pada topik sudut layak digunakan dalam pelaksanaan pembelajaran matematika. Development of a students' worksheet based on problem-based learning (PBL) on the topic of anglesAbstractThis study aimed to produce a students’ worksheet or Lembar Kerja Peserta Didik (LKPD) based on Problem-Based Learning (PBL) on the topic of angles, which were feasible. This development research adopts the ADDIE development model with stages including Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. The quality of LKPD was viewed from the assessment of material experts, media experts, and students’ responses. The instrument used was a material expert questionnaire, a media expert questionnaire, and a students’ response questionnaire. LKPD was piloted on 32 seventh grade students of private junior high schools, namely SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Yogyakarta, Indonesia. The developed LKPD contained learning activities according to PBL steps, presented problems related to everyday life at the beginning of learning, and could be used in online learning. In terms of the material aspect, LKPD was considered good with an average score of assessment by material experts, namely 4.00. In terms of the media aspect, LKPD was considered good with a score of 3.6 by media experts. Students’ responses to the use of LKPD were included in the good category with an average score of assessment of 4.05. It could be concluded that the PBL-based LKPD for seventh-grade junior high school students on the topic of angles was feasible for use in the implementation of mathematics learning.

One factor in learning mathematics is the need for communication skills. Carpenter & Gorg (2000: 60) states "Communication is an essential part of mathematics and mathematics education", which means that communication is an important part of mathematics and mathematics education. Mathematical communication is related to problem solving, because with the existence of mathematical communication students will understand better in solving mathematical problems. This qualitative descriptive study aims to describe the written mathematics communication of junior high school students in solving mathematical problems in terms of students' mathematical abilities. The data obtained came from three subjects, namely VIII grade junior high school students who had received the material system of two-variable linear equations (SPLDV). The three subjects consisted of students with high mathematical abilities, students with moderate mathematical abilities, and students with low mathematical abilities. The results of this study are the accuracy of writing mathematics for high ability and medium ability students is declared accurate, but low abilities is not declared accurate. In the completeness aspect, high ability and medium ability students written mathematics communication is complete for any information that has been submitted. But, student with low abilities is not complete. In the aspect of fluency, students with high abilities are able to communicate fluently in mathematics, but students with moderate and low abilities cannot fluently. . Visual Basic Application for Excel is a simple program language and has the power to process data quickly, let alone the utilization of math functions in Microsoft Excel can help work on Excel display more interactive so that teachers can create props inside Excel. The advantages of Microsoft Excel compared to mathematical software are the many math functions and images available in the form of shapes or pictures. With the availability of VBA, math and image functions in Microsoft Excel, teachers can design the creation of media related to mathematics learning especially helping to develop the ability of junior high school students who have difficulty connecting mathematics lessons with basic mathematics knowledge requirements. In general, that most students in Indonesia have not solved mathematical problems, therefore, by using VBA for Excel the ability of junior high school students to improve in the usual way significantly with a t-test with 0.006 <0.05 and there is an association between Trust self-comfidence student with students' mathematical comprehension skills with a contingency value with a significant amount of 0.016 <0.05 with a contingency coefficient of 0.525 including a moderate association

Pemahaman Konseptual Matematis (PKM)  memiliki peran penting karena dengan kemampuan ini siswa mudah dalam membangun hubungan untuk memahamai ide dan konsep baru. Kemampuan PKM ini dapat ditumbuh-kembangkan melalui pembelajaran di kelas. Untuk mencapai kecakapan tersebut, pembelajaran perlu memperhatikan keberagaman siswa karena pembelajaran yang mengakomodasi keberagaman menjadi lebih efektif, efesien, dan menarik. Keberagam tersebut dapat berupa Gender (G), Kemampuan Awal Matematika (KAM) dan Gaya Belajar Matematis (GBM) siswa. Salah satu pendekatan pembelajaran yang mengakomodir keberagaman ialah pembelajaran pendekatan Rigorous Mathematical Thinking (RMT). Artikel ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji kemampuan PKM siswa SMP yang memperoleh pembelajaran pendekatan RMT ditinjau dari : a). Gender, b). KAM siswa, dan c). GBM siswa. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimen pada siswa SMP di salah satu sekolah di Bandung. Salah satu hasil yang penting adalah dengan pembelajaran ini menjadikan siswa dengan KAM sedang dan rendah dapat mencapai kemampuan yang baik. The Effect of Rigorous Mathematical Thinking (RMT) Learning Approach On Students’ Understanding of Mathematical Concepts AbstractAn understanding of mathematical concepts (PKM) has an important role because with this ability students are easy in building relationships to understand new ideas and concepts. The ability of PKM can be grown-developed through learning in the classroom. To achieve these skills, learning needs to pay attention to the diversity of students because learning that accommodates diversity becomes more effective, efficient, and engaging. Such diversity can be Gender (G), An initial mathematical ability (KAM) and students’ mathematics learning styles (GBM). One approach to learning that accommodates diversity is the Rigorous Mathematical Thinking (RMT) learning approach. This article aims to examine the ability of junior high school students who have learned RMT approach in terms of: a). Gender, b). students’ KAM, and c). students’ GBM. This research is an experimental research on junior high school students in one school in Bandung. One important result is that this learning engages students with medium and low of KAM able to achieve good abilities.

Abstract The aims of this study were to determine effectiveness of the mathematics learning approach inimproving students’ mathematical connection. This research used two Group Pretest-Posttest designs. The sample selected of this study was from random sampling, that is two classes were selected with 58 students. This research was conducted in grade VIII-1 Junior High School Al-Islamiyah Putat-Tanggulangin, Sidoarjo. The instruments of this research used essay test and observation. The results showed that the practicality of the realistic mathematic learning approach effectively used, was characterised by the ability of the teachers to manage learning to meet the criteria of good; student activities, positive student responses, and completeness of the classical student learning more than 80%. Furthermore, based on student learning outcomes, it can be concluded that the students' mathematical connection ability increases.

The ability of mathematical communication is contained in the curriculum and objectives of mathematics learning. Through mathematical communication is expected to improve students abilities of mathematical concepts. The purpose of this study is to determine the level of mathematical communication ability of junior high school students on the material system of two linear equations. This research is a descriptive research with qualitative approach. The study time was held in the even semester of the academic year 2017/2018. The subjects of the study were students of SMP class VIII in Cimahi city as many as 33 students. Data collection methods used are test methods, observation and documentation. Based on the results of data analysis showed the students mathematical communication ability of SMP on linear equation system two variables were obtained: (1) students ability in reflecting real objects, drawings and diagrams into mathematics idea with percentage of 81,08%; (2) students ability to explain ideas, situations and mathematical relations both orally and in writing using real objects, images, graphs and algebraic expressions with percentage of 33,33%; (3) the ability of students to declare daily events in language or mathematical symbols or to construct an event mathematical model of 18.18%; (4) students ability in explaining and making math questions studied for 7.58% and (5) students ability in making conjectures, formulating arguments, formulating definitions and generalizations of 7.58%.

One alternative model of learning that is expected to improve problem-solving skills is the Problem Based Learning model. This research aims to examine the problem-solving abilities of junior high school students. This study is classified as Quasi Experiments that was conducted at SMP Nurul Huda in Karawang. This research was an experimental design with 80 seventh grade student as a sample, it is divided into two different classes as a Problem Based Learning class and conventional learning class. The two classes were given pretest and posttest to determine students' problem-solving abilities. The results showed that problem solving abilities students who obtained learning with Problem Based Learning were better than students who received conventional learning. The success of students in learning mathematics with Problem Based Learning and problem-solving problems shows good results.   Salah satu alternatif model dan pendekatan pembelajaran yang diperkirakan dapat meningkatkan kemampuan tersebut adalah model Pembelajaran Berbasis Masalah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menelaah kemampuan pemecahan masalah dan minat belajar siswa SMP. Penelitian ini termasuk Kuasi Eksperimen yang dilakukan pada salah satu SMP di kota Karawang, Penelitian ini adalah suatu eksperimen berdisain  dengan sampel 80 siswa kelas VII pada dua kelas yang berbeda sebagai kelas Pembelajaran Berbasis Masalah dan kelas pembelajaran konvensional. Kedua kelas yang diteliti diberikan pretes dan postes untuk mengetahui kemampuan pemecahan masalah dan minat belajar siswa.  Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa kemampuan  pemecahan masalah dan minat belajar siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran dengan Pembelajaran Berbasis Masalah lebih baik dari pada siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran konvensional. Keberhasilan siswa terhadap pelajaran matematika dengan Pembelajaran Berbasis Masalah serta terhadap soal-soal pemecahan masalah menunjukkan hasil yang baik.

This study aims to determine the effect of GeoGebra software on junior high school students' mathematical communication skills. The method used is the quasi-experimental method. This research was conducted at Pasundan Rongga Middle School. With class VIII A as an experimental class with 28 students and class VIII C as a control class with 28 students. This study uses instruments that have been tested and declared valid and reliable. The instrument was adjusted to the indicator of mathematical communication skills with the number of questions tested as many as 5 questions to obtain pretest and posttest data in both the experimental class and the control class. Data testing is done using normalized n-gain formula so that the n-gain data obtained is processed using the SPSS 20 application to perform parametric statistical tests. The results showed that the mathematical communication skills of students who learned using GeoGebra software were better than students who learned without using GeoGebra software.
