Bibliometry is responsible for applying mathematical and statistical methods to scientific research; this discipline is responsible for measuring scientific studies by applying quantitative variables to articles or texts produced by a scientific nature. A bibliometric analysis was carried out where the term "BIM" was consulted, which is the acronym for Building Information Modeling. The search was carried out in the scientific research portal Web of Science, obtaining 684 journal articles related to civil engineering and construction technology. Additionally, the bibliometric analysis software (Bibliometrix) was implemented with which analysis of co-occurrence, cocitation, and co-authorship was carried out, which allowed the study carried out to be better visualized in graphic form. Building information modeling (BIM) and prefabricated construction (PC) are increasingly applied in the construction industry. Recent academic and industrial efforts indicated that the application of BIM and PC is a solution to reduce lifecycle costs, reduce waste, increase productivity and improve quality in construction. Although previous studies have advanced the integration of BIM and PC, extensive research scope and scattered research topics cannot form an overall picture of knowledge structure. Hence, this study aims to establish an up-to-date synthesis of the latest research on BIM for PC and identify the research gaps and future needs. First, a database with 103 journal articles on BIM for PC was established through data collection; second, a bibliometric analysis was applied to determine the top journals, articles and to map the latest mainstream research. Last, a qualitative analysis was used to determine the mainstream research areas and identify the research gaps and future needs. This study may contribute to enrich our body of knowledge on the use of the techniques in conjunction, help researchers and builders to understand the latest progress of BIM for PC research in timely fashion, and promote the integration of BIM with PC and other cutting-edge technologies moving forward.

International construction is complicated and involves high risks. However, with the development of technological innovation, Building Information Modeling (BIM) emerged and seems to be able to address certain risks. To understand BIM applications in risk management for international construction, a state-of-the-art review is required. Therefore, this paper aims to identify the research trends and opportunities for risk management in BIM-enabled international construction by reviewing 526 peer-reviewed journal articles for the years 2007–2017. Thus five steps of bibliometric analysis were conducted based on the proposed frameworks of BIM risk management in international construction (BIM-RM-INTL). The results show that the popularization of BIM not only attracts all stakeholders’ interests but also brings some risks. For example, financial factors are hard to detect and control through BIM, information loss during transmission stands out, and BIM has no unified standards and regulations for international construction. The research has mapped existing research results and their relationships for future risk management in BIM-enabled international construction.

Постановка задачи. Необходимо рассмотреть состояние экономики в стране и в мире в различных отраслях, опираясь на показатели производительности труда в разное время. Требуется выполнить сравнительный анализ применения инновационных технологий Lean Construction и Building Information Modeling в строительстве с целью повышения индекса производительности труда. Результаты. По итогам рассмотрения экономической ситуации установлено, что необходимо повышение индекса производительности труда в строительстве. При выполнении сравнительного анализа был разработан алгоритм и формулы факторов влияния технологий бережливого строительства и информационного моделирования на повышение производительности труда в строительной отрасли. Выводы. Для повышения индекса производительности труда необходимо внедрение технологий бережливого строительства и информационного моделирования в строительство на все этапы жизненного цикла производства, что позволит изменить саму философию строительной отрасли. Statement of the problem. It is essential to consider the state of the economy in the country and in the world as a whole in different sectors based on productivity indicators at different times. A comparative analysis must be performed of the use of innovative technologies Lean Construction and Building Information Modeling in construction in order to increase the productivity index. Results. After considering the economic situation, it was concluded that it was necessary to increase the productivity index in construction. During the comparative analysis, the algorithm and formulas of factors of influence of lean construction technologies and information modeling on increase of labor productivity in the construction industry were developed. Conclusions In order to increase the productivity index, it is necessary to introduce lean construction technologies and information modeling into construction at all stages of the production life cycle, which will change the very philosophy of the construction industry.

AbstractThe construction industry is multidisciplinary in nature and various operations are executed at the same time. One of the major resources for executing construction operations is the human workforce. Management of this workforce with effective safety provisions is a prime factor for reducing accidents on construction sites. Nowadays, technologies such as Building Information Modeling (BIM) offer the potential to manage safety on-site with their automatic safety checking capability. BIM is a model-based smart nD platform that offers tools for architecture, engineering, and construction proficients to plan, design, and manage construction activities more efficiently. Despite its growing use globally, BIM has not been adopted sufficiently in the Indian construction industry. This paper presents a bibliometric analysis of the adoption of BIM in the global construction and the Indian construction industry. It also reviews the adoption of BIM for safety in the global and Indian construction industry. The bibliometric analysis is carried out in two phases, at first it reviews the adoption of BIM globally, and limits the findings to cover BIM adoption in the Indian construction industry. Secondly, it reviews the adoption of BIM for safety in global construction and limits the findings to cover BIM adoption for safety in India. Various complementary tools such as VOSviewer, iMapbuilder have been used for data analysis. The research highlights the need for BIM in India particularly for safety on construction sites.

The adoption of Building Information Modeling (BIM) constitutes a paradigm shift in the architectural, engineering and construction (AEC) industry. Broader BIM adoption will transform construction processes to achieve greater efficiency to improve the quality of life (QOL) of construction stakeholders. This paper seeks to identify determinant factors and implementation gaps of BIM in the AEC industry.  A case study was conducted through a preliminary workshop organised by CIDB among the five potential stakeholders from Malaysian public and private.
