This study intends to investigate the relationship between commitment-based human resource practices (CBHRP) and organizational performance of the multi-national organizations in Malaysia with the present of organizational learning capability (OLC) as the mediator. The data were collected from 150 multi-national organizations, using a survey questionnaire. The returned response rate was 97 percent. A relevant statistical analytical such as regression analysis was used to test the hypotheses set forth in this study. The outcome of the analysis showed that the relationship between commitment-based HR practices and organizational performance was influence by organizational learning capability. The results imply that the multi-national organizations should enhance their CBHRP and OLC to strengthen their organizational performance.

Purpose – The purpose of this paper is to investigate the relationship between altruistic leader behaviors, organizational learning capability and organizational performance. Design/methodology/approach – The sampling frame consists of several databases or listings of business that consider people as a key element of the organization and are considered by their employees to be good firms to work for or organizational environments where human resources management has high priority (n=251). The authors use structural equation modeling to test if the relationship between altruistic leader behaviors and organizational performance is mediated by organizational learning capability. Findings – Results suggest that organizational learning capability fully mediates between altruistic leader behaviors and organizational performance. Thus, organizational learning capability plays a key role in explaining how altruistic leader behaviors affect organizational performance, essentially because it facilitates the creation of a creative, participatory and dialogue-based environment that promotes organizational learning. Research limitations/implications – The database used in the study is very heterogeneous. Future research might delimit the database by organization size or sector. Qualitative studies may also improve our understanding of the relationships studied and enable other concepts to be included. Practical implications – This study provides evidence of the positive relationship between altruistic leaders and performance. However, recruiting and fomenting altruistic leaders is not sufficient on its own to improve performance, and should be accompanied by implementing other facilitating factors of organizational learning such as dialogue or experimentation. Originality/value – In recent years some studies have linked leadership with organizational learning. However, this is one of the first studies to concentrate on altruistic leader behaviors as such, a concept that has received scant mention in the literature despite its importance in a number of leadership styles, and its relevance today as an alternative to the egotistic leader. The authors offer empirical evidence of the role of altruistic leader behavior as an antecedent of organizational learning capability and subjective measures of performance.

HR Practices play crucial role towards employees’ job related outcomes that ultimately leads towards effective organizational performance. The purpose of this study is to examine the relationship between HR Practices, loyalty and commitment with mediating role of job satisfaction in banks of Gujranwala Pakistan. Study is descriptive and quantitative in nature. Survey questionnaire method has been adopted and data have been collected by applying simple random sampling technique. Results revealed that HR practices are significantly and positively related to employees’ loyalty and their commitment. Moreover, findings also depicted that jib satisfaction significantly and partially mediate the relationship between HR practices, loyalty and commitment.

This paper investigates the Organizational Learning Capabilities (OLC) affect Organizational innovativeness (OI) on organizational performance (OP). The mediating role of IO on relationship between OLC and OP was also been studied. Analysis is based on data collected from 200 respondents drawn from Pakistan’s Telecom Sectors. Multiple regression analysis had been used to test the hypotheses. This study found that both OLC and OI have a positive impact towards OP. OI also mediates the relationship between OLC and OI. Organizations operating in the intensive knowledge-based sector seek efficient management approaches and sustainable development practices to perform efficiently in the dynamic business environment. Knowledge management practice and organizational learning are significant factors in order to achieve sustainable organizational performance in a rapidly changing business environment. Based on the scientific literature analysis, there is still a lack of evidence related to the mediating role of the whole knowledge management cycle, including the five knowledge management processes (knowledge acquisition, creation, storage, sharing, and application) in the relationship between organizational learning and sustainable organizational performance for organizations operating in intensive knowledge-based sectors. This study aimed to examine the impact of the whole knowledge management cycle on the relationship between organizational learning and sustainable organizational performance in intensive knowledge-based sectors, specifically the audit and consulting companies in the Middle East region. Systematic scientific literature analysis, expert evaluation (structured questionnaire), and structural equation modeling (SEM) technique were used to develop and verify the research model. Data was collected through a structured questionnaire distributed among auditing experts working in a knowledge-based sector—audit and consulting companies in the Middle East region. The research results supported the hypotheses stating that organizational learning positively affects knowledge acquisition, storage, sharing, application processes, and sustainable organizational performance. However, the results verified that organizational learning has an insignificant impact on the Middle Eastern audit and consulting companies’ knowledge creation process.

Innovation has become critical success factor in many industries today and numerous scholars approve that it could be achieved through learning in organizations. Despite the availability of numerous researches on innovativeness and organizational learning in international context, there are limited studies that analyze the effect of learning on innovativeness in context of Pakistan. Specifically, the research is limited regarding mediating role of organizational learning between knowledge management, teamwork, emotional capability, and innovativeness; and the main purpose of this study was to fill this research gap. This study draws its framework mainly from resource based view, knowledge based view, and dynamic capability perspective. For this research, data was obtained through survey from managers in Pakistani SMEs operating in multiple sectors. The study performed its analyses using SmartPLS 3.0 based on 149 responses. The study concludes that organizational learning significantly mediates the relationship between knowledge management, teamwork, emotional capability, and innovativeness. The study provides valuable information for Pakistani SMEs about how they could enhance their innovative capability through learning capability.

Corporate foresight is a capability that includes any structural or cultural element that enables the company to detect discontinuous change early. The purpose of the present study is to examine the direct impact of corporate foresight, and organizational learning on the performance dynamic of SMEs working in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). In addition, the study tries to analyze the moderating as well as mediating effect of digital transformation and innovativeness on the relationship between exogenous and endogenous constructs. A sample of 576 questionnaires were distributed among the owners/managers of different SMEs working in the region of UAE. However, a final sample of 354 respondents was empirically tested. The data was analyzed through a two-step approach where structural equation modelling (SEM) under SmartPLS was found to be very helpful to examine the direct and indirect relationship between the study variables. The study findings show that there is an insignificant but positive impact of corporate foresight on organizational performance whereas significant impact of organizational learning on organizational performance. Furthermore, the study found evidence for the moderating effect of digital transformation between organizational learning and innovation. Additionally, it is observed that innovativeness mediates the relationship between corporate foresight and performance dynamics. The study findings suggest that for exploring the relationship between corporate foresight, digital transformation, and organization the role of innovation and digital transformation is quite significant. The study findings suggest that both owners and managers at SMEs of UAE should attach more importance to innovative capabilities and digital transformation for achieving higher levels of organizational performance. Policy makers should reasonably consider the direct and indirect effect of study variables while considering high performance at the workplace.

AbstractDespite the fact that the majority of studies have suggested that it is beneficial for organizational performance, some empirical evidence has generated contradictory results concerning these variables. For this reason, this research attempts to look in-depth at the relationships between trust and organizational performance, using organizational learning capability as an explanatory variable. To confirm the hypotheses, the structural equation technique was used on data from a survey carried out in Spanish firms with recognized excellence in human resources management. The results obtained show that, in these firms, organizational learning capability mediates in the relationship between trust and organizational performance.

PurposeThis research aims to concentrate on the important concern that how social capital (SC) influences business model innovation (BMI) in the course of the mediating role of organizational learning capabilities (OLC) and the moderating role of entrepreneurial orientation (EO). In the context of small and medium enterprises (SMEs), this study empirically tested a theoretical model of BMI to advocate a mechanism for the analysis of its significant determinants.Design/methodology/approachIn order to achieve the objective of the research, survey method was utilized, and data were collected from 521 CEOs, MDs and the owners of ICT sector SMEs. Correlation, causal step approach and regression analysis were used to test the proposed model.FindingsFinding of the research advocates that OLC mediate the relationship between SC and BMI. In addition, stronger EO augments the association between OLC and BMI.Practical implicationsThe study adds to the literature by providing insights regarding the impact of SC, OLC and EO on BMI of small firms.Originality/valueThis research enriches the existing knowledge by testing a mediating role of OLC between SC-BMI link and, therefore, makes an important addition to the existing knowledge in the context of SMEs by concentrating on the relationship between SC, OLC, BMI and EO.
