The superconducting magnetic energy storage system (SMES) has good characteristics such as high efficiency, quick response, no deteriorations, etc. However it is still far from wide application. The main obstacle is due to its high cost. One of the most effective ways to reduce the cost of SMES is to make it multifunctional. In this paper, a dual mode control strategy is proposed. With the proposed control strategy, The SMES can compensate voltage dip, current harmonics, reactive power, and active power fluctuation with a simple topology. The efficacy of the proposed control strategy is verified by simulation results.

The purpose of this study is to solve defects of the existing control strategy long convergence time, sliding mode chattering and so on. For Sensorless Brushless DC motor control strategy, a modified extended Kalman state correction estimation scheme is proposed, and dual mode high-order non-singular terminal hybrid sliding mode control technology is put forward. TMS320F2812DSP core controller and CM200DY-12H inverter module and construction electric car core control module are established, and the program algorithm of the extended Kalman algorithm and hybrid sliding mode control is constructed. The results showed that the control system designed can suppress the system chattering, and the system has strong robustness, which has low requirement on the system model and can eliminate external disturbance input, showing outstanding performance in the convergence time and anti disturbance performance. In summary, a dual mode high-order non-singular terminal hybrid sliding mode control technology put forward is quite suitable for electric vehicle control system.

Due to the increasing penetration of distributed generations (DGS) and non-negligible grid impedance, the instability problem of the multi-inverter system operating in current source mode (CSM) is becoming serious. In this paper, a closed-loop transfer function model of such a multi-inverter system is established, by which it is concluded that output current resonance will occur with the increase in the grid impedance. In order to address this problem, this paper presents a novel dual-mode control scheme of multiple inverters: one inverter operating in CSM will be alternated into voltage source mode (VSM) if the grid impedance is high. It is theoretically proved that the coupling between the inverters and the resonance in the output current can be suppressed effectively with the proposed scheme. Finally, the validity of the proposed theory is demonstrated by extensive simulations and experiments.

In this paper, a mode control strategy for a two-mode EVT hybrid electric vehicle (HEV) is proposed, considering transmission efficiency and mode change quality. First, speed and torque characteristics are analyzed by establishing relevant equations of two transmission mode. Next, the optimal operation mode is selected from the viewpoint of the transmission efficiency, when it is higher at a given speed ratio. Then, two scheme of operation sequence of clutch/brake are compared, and a control algorithm of synchronous control of two MGs and engine is suggested to reduce speed difference between both end of the clutch and torque fluctuation. A vehicle simulation based on Matlab/Simulink was performed to testify the mode change control algorithm of the dual-mode EVT HEV,and the simulation results showed that the mode control strategy for the dual-mode EVT HEV gave acceptable performance.
