ABSTRACT The purpose of this study is three. First, it describes the reading skills of news comprehension of VIII grade students of SMP Negeri 3 Solok. Second, describe the news text writing skills. Third, describe the correlation of reading news comprehension with news writing skills. This type of research is quantitative with descriptive methods. The design used in this study is correlational design. The population of this study was students of class VIII of SMP Negeri 3 Solok. The sample in this study was determined by proportional random sampling 15% of the population. The data of this study were in the form of scores on the reading comprehension test results of news comprehension and scores on the results of writing news text skills. This research instrument is an objective test to measure reading comprehension skills of news and performance tests to measure news text writing skills. Three results of this study. First, the reading skills of news comprehension in good qualifications (B) with an average grade of 78.56. Secondly, news writing skills in good qualifications (B) with an average of 77.78. Third, there is a correlation between reading comprehension and news writing skills with news text with n-1 degrees of freedom at a 95% confidence level. T value (3.77) is greater than t table (1.72), that is tcount> t table (3.77> 1.72), thus H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted because the test results prove that tcount is greater than t table.    Kata kunci: Korelasi, Keterampilan Membaca Pemahaman Berita, Keterampilan          menulis berita

ABSTRACT The purpose of the research is to describe the reading skills of students' news text comprehension, Second, to describe the skills of writing news texts of students, third, to describe the correlation of reading comprehension of news texts with news writing skills of students of class VIII at SMP Negeri 9 Padang. The population of this research is VIII grade students of SMP Negeri 9 Padang in the 2019/2020 school year, which is 245 students. The sample in this study was determined by proportional random sampling 25% of 49 students. The research data scores the results of reading text comprehension test scores and the scores of news text writing skills scores. The research instrument is an objective test for reading text comprehension skills and performance tests for news text writing skills. Research Results First, the reading skills of understanding the news text of good qualifying students (B). Second, the skills of writing news texts of good qualifying students (B). Third, there is a correlation between reading comprehension and news writing skills with news writing skills of VIII grade students of SMP Negeri 9 Padang with degrees of freedom n-1 at 95% confidence level. T value (5.55) is greater than t table (1.68), i.e. titung> ttabel (5.55> 1.68) thus H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted because the test results prove that tcount is greater than t table. It can be concluded that reading text comprehension skills are correlated with news text writing skills. Kata Kunci: Korelasi, Membaca Pemahaman, Teks Berita

ABSTRACT The purpose of this study is three. First, describe comprehension reading skills. Second, describe explanatory text writing skills. Third, describe the correlation of reading comprehension skills with explanatory text writing skills of class XI students of SMA Adabiah Padang. This type of research is quantitative with descriptive method. The design of this study is correlational design. The study population was registered in 2018/2019, which is 287 students. The research sample was proportional random sampling of 20% of the population of 57 students. The research data is in the form of scores on the results of comprehension reading skills tests and scores on the results of explanatory text writing skills. The instrument of this study was an objective test to measure comprehension reading skills and performance tests to measure writing skills. The results of this study are three. First, reading comprehension skills of class XI students of SMA Adabiah Padang are of good qualification (B). Second, explanatory text writing skills of class XI students of SMA Adabiah Padang are of good qualification (B). Third, there is a correlation of reading comprehension skills with explanatory text writing skills with n-1 freedom degrees at the 95% confidence level. The value of tcount (38.54) is greater than t table (1.66) that is tcount> ttable (38.54> 1.68) thus H0 is rejected and H1. Based on the results of these studies it was concluded that reading comprehension skills correlated with explanatory text writing skills.  Kata Kunci: Korelasi, Keterampilan Membaca Pemahaman, Keterampilan Menulis Teks Eksplanasi.

ABSTRACTThe purpose of this study is to describe the following matters. First, it describes the reading skills of students in class VIII of SMP Negeri 8 Padang. Second, describe the news writing skills of VIII students of SMP Negeri 8 Padang. Third, it describes the correlation between reading comprehension skills and news writing skills of eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 8 Padang. This type of research is quantitative research with descriptive methods. The results of this study are three. First, reading comprehension skills of eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 8 Padang are in good qualifications. This was concluded based on an average count of 81.13. Second, the writing skills of news texts for eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 8 Padang are in good qualifications. This can be seen from the acquisition of the average news text writing test count of 81.25. Third, there is a significant correlation between reading comprehension skills and news writing skills of VIII grade students of SMP Negeri 8 Padang at n-1 degrees of freedom and a significant level of 95%.  The null hypothesis is rejected and the work hypothesis is accepted because the test result prove the t value is greater than t table 3.81 > 1.68. Based on the result of the study above, it was concluded about the knowledge of reading skills in reading news texts of eight grade students of SMP Negeri 8 Padang.Kata Kunci: korelasi, membaca pemahaman, menulis teks berita

ABSTRACTThe purpose of this study is three. First, it describes the writing skills of the description text of grade VII students of SMP Negeri 25 Padang. Second, describe the reading comprehension skills of the VII grade students of SMP Negeri 25 Padang. Third, analyze the correlation between reading comprehension and description text skills with the writing skills of the VII grade students of SMP Negeri 25 Padang. This type of research is quantitative research with descriptive methods. The design (design) in this study is correlational. By using simple random sampling technique, the sample in this study amounted to 48 students. The research instrument was an objective test to measure comprehension reading skills and performance tests to measure description writing skills. The conclusion of this research is thirteen. First, the description writing skills of grade VII students of SMP Negeri 25 Padang are in good qualifications. Second, reading comprehension text skills of the seventh grade students of SMP Negeri 25 Padang are in good qualifications. Third, there is a significant relationship between reading comprehension text description skills and writing text description of students in grade VII of SMP Negeri 25 Padang at n-1 degrees of freedom and a significant level of 95%. ABSTRACT The purpose of this study is three. First, describe the listening skills of class VIII interview at SMP Negeri 23 Padang. Second, describing the news text writing skills of class VIII students of SMP Negeri 23 Padang. Third, describe the correlation of listening skills to interviews with news text writing skills of class VIII students of SMP Negeri 23 Padang. This type of research is a quantitative descriptive method. The design used in this study is correlational design. The population of this study was Class VIII of SMP Negeri 23 Padang. The sample in this study was determined by proportional random sampling of 25% of the population, namely 51 students. The research data were test scores on interview listening skills and news text writing skills test scores. The research instrument was an objective test to measure interview listening skills and performance tests to measure news text writing skills. The results of this study are three. First, the writing text skills of class VIII students of SMP Negeri 23 Padang are in more than enough qualifications. Secondly, listening to interview skills is more than adequate. Third, listening skills interviewed were correlated at 7,41 with news text writing skills of class VIII students of SMP Negeri 23 Padang.                Kata Kunci: Korelasi, Keterampilan Menyimak Wawancara, Keterampilan Menulis Teks Berita

ABSTRACT The purpose of this study is three. First, describing reading skills understanding text of class VIII students at SMP Negeri 32 Padang. Second, describing the exposition for writing the text skills of Grade VIII students in Padang Middle School 32 Third, describing the correlation of reading skills in the text comprehension and the exposition for writing text skills for grade VIII students of SMP Negeri 32 Padang. This type of research is quantitative with descriptive method. The design used is correlational design. The study population was grade VIII students of SMP Negeri 32 Padang who were enrolled in the 2018/2019 school year, which was 196 students. The study sample was determined by proportional random sampling of 25% of the population, namely 49 students. The research data is in the form of a reading skill test score understanding and the score of the exsposition for writing the text exsposition. There are two instruments for this research, namely objective tests to measure reading skills, comprehension  and performance tests to measure the exsposition for writing text skills. Based on the results of this study, it was concluded that there was a significant correlation between reading skills, text comprehension, and exsposition writing skills in class VIII students of SMP Negeri 32 Padang. at the real level (α) of 95% with n-1 freedom degrees in other words if the reading skills of students 'exsposition text comprehension are good, then students' writing skills are also good. Conversely, if the reading skills of students 'exsposition text comprehension are bad then the students' writing exsposition text skills are also bad. Kata Kunci: Membaca Pemahaman, Keterampilan Menulis Teks, Eksposisi

ABSTRACT There are three aims of this study. First, describe the skills of reading comprehention of VII grade students at SMP Negeri 33 Padang. Second, describe the writing skills of the report observation text of VII grade students at SMP Negeri 33 Padang. Third, describe the correlation of reading comprehention with the writing skills of the report observation text of VII grade students at SMP Negeri 33 Padang. The  type of this research is quantitative in terms of descriptive methods. The design used in this study is correlational design. The population of this study was the seventh grade students of the SMP Negeri 33 Padang which was registered in the 2018/2019 school year, it was 192 students. The sample in this study was determined by proportional random sampling of 20% of the population, namely 36 students. The research data is in the form of scores on the skills test results of reading comprehention and scores on the results of the test writing skills of the report observation text. The instrument of this study is an objective test to measure reading comprehention skills and performance tests to measure report observation text writing skills. The results of this study are three. First, the skills to write report observation texts of  VII grade students of the SMP Negeri 33 Padang is in accordance with the Good qualifications (B) with an averange value 82,99. Second, the skill of reading comprehention of VII grade students of the SMP Negeri 33 Padang in accordance with Good qualifications (B) with an averange value 81,42. Third, there is a significant correlation betwen reading comprehention skills and report observation text writing skills of VIII grade students of the SMP Negeri 7 Padang on n-1 freedom degrees and 95% significant level. H0 is reject and H1is accepted because the tcount is greater than ttable (13,59 > 2,68).  Kata Kunci: Korelasi, Keterampilan Membaca Pemahaman, Keterampilan Menulis Teks Laporan Hasil Observasi.

The sample in this research are determined by proportional random sampling of 20% of the population, i.e. 54 students. Research data is a score test results intermediate reading comprehension text description and score the writing skills test result text description. The data obtained through two types of tests i.e. objective tests to measure the skills of reading comprehension text description and performance tests to measure the skills of writing a text description. The results of the research there are three. First, the skills of reading comprehension text description grade VII SMP Negeri Padang 12 are on good qualifications (B) by the value of the average 80.09. Second, the skills of writing text descriptions grade VII SMP Negeri Padang 12 are on good qualifications (B) with an average of 80.86. Third, there is a contribution of reading skills in the description of text to the skills of writing description texts of class grade VII SMP Negeri Padang 12 at 62.73%. Kata kunci: Kontribusi, Keterampilan, Membaca Pemahaman, Menulis, Teks Deskripsi.

The results of the research there are three. First, the skills of reading comprehension grade VIII SMP Negeri Padang 13 are on more than enough qualifications (LdC) by the value of the average 75.41. Second, the skills of writing text exposition grade VIII SMP Negeri Padang 13 are on good qualifications (B) with an average of 77.37. Third, there is a contribution of reading skills in the exposition of text to the skills of writing exposition texts of class grade VIII SMP Negeri Padang 13 at 62.77%. Kata kunci: Kontribusi, Keterampilan, Membaca Pemahaman, Menulis,                         Teks Eksposisi.

This research type is quantitative descriptive method. The design used in this research is the design contribution. This research population is grade VIII SMP Negeri 2 Padang Panjang are registered on the 12th school year 2018/2019, i.e. as many as 156 students. The sample in this research are determined by proportional random sampling of 25% of the population, i.e. 40 students. Research data is a score test results intermediate reading comprehension text exposition and score the writing skills test result text exposition. The data obtained through two types of tests i.e. objective tests to measure the skills of reading comprehension text exposition and performance tests to measure the skills of writing a text exposition. The results of the research there are three. First, the skills of reading comprehension text exposition grade VIII SMP Negeri Padang Panjang  2 are on good qualifications (B) by the value of the average 79.39. Second, the skills of writing text exposition grade VIII SMP Negeri Padang Panjang  2 are on good qualifications (B) with an average of 80.23. Third, there is a contribution of reading skills in the description of text to the skills of writing exposition texts of class grade VIII SMP Negeri Padang  Panjang 2 at 76,39%. Kata kunci: Kontribusi, Keterampilan, Membaca Pemahaman, Menulis, Teks Eksposisi
