The results of the achievement of science learning competencies at junior high School 28 Padang are still low because the learning process is still teacher-centered, and the teacher still uses the lecture method. Students tend to be passive in the learning process. One way that is used to motivate and activate students in a pleasant atmosphere is to apply mind map assisted discovery learning models.This type of research is quasi-experimental research with the design of randomized control-group posttest only design. The population of this study was all VII grade students of SMP 28 Padang who were enrolled in the 2018/2019 Academic Year. Sampling is done by purposive sampling technique. so Class VII2 was chosen as the experimental class and class VII1 as the control class. The research data includes learning outcomes from three domains, namely cognitive, affective and psychomotor. The research instruments were in the form of learning outcomes tests, affective domain observation formats and psychomotor assessment sheets. The data obtained were analyzed using the t-test. T test is obtained t count>table which is 4.66> 1.66 in knowledge competency, 2.76> 1.66 in attitude competency, and 3.62> 1.66, in skill competency. Thus it can be concluded that by implementing mind map assisted discovery learning models, it has a positive effect on students' learning competencies in junior high school 28 Padang

The low level of students’ science learning competencies at grade VII in Junior High School 16 Padang is caused by several factors, one of them is the learning process still used teacher-centered, so the students tend to inactive in the learning process. Therefore, it is necessary to conduct an innovative learning process in order to improve students’ competencies, in knowledge, attitudes and skill. One of the method that can be used by the teacher is by implementing the Discovery Learning model. The aim of this study is to determine the effect of the Discovery Learning model through students’ learning competencies in science (knowledge, attitudes and skill) at grade VII in Junior High School 16 Padang. This type of research is experimental research with a control group posttest only design. The population in this study were all class VII SMPN 16 Padang registered in the 2018/2019. Sampling was done using technique purposive sampling, which was chosen as the sample of the study was class VII.5 as the experimental and VII.2 as the control class. The instruments used were in the form of questions posttest for knowledge competencies, observation sheets for attitide and skills. The hypothesis was tested using the t-test, can be concluded that the competencies of learners knowledge tcount 5,96 > ttable 1,67, the competencies of attitude value tcount 6,36 > ttable 1,67, and the competencies of skills value tcount1,69 >  ttable1,67. This shows that the hypothesis is accepted. Concluded that the application of model the Discovery Learning has a positive effect on students’ science learning competency of knowledge, attitudes and skills of class VII students of SMPN 16 Padang.

The research problem at Junior High School 20 Padang  is that the learning model used has not varied, the low competency of students from the aspects of knowledge, attitudes, and skills as well as the implementation of learning models with science literacy. The efforts that can be done are applying the talking chips model with science literacy to the students at Junior High School 20 Padang on the material of climate change and its impact for the ecosystem. The purpose of this research is to find out The Effect of Talking Chips model containing science literacy on students’ learning competencies in the material of climate change and its impact on ecosystems at Junior High School 20 Padang. This research is quasi-experimental research with design randomized control-group posttest only design. The population used was all class VII students’ of Junior High School 20  Padang 2018/2019. Sampling was done using the cluster sampling technique, we selected VII.2 as experimental class and class VII.7 as control class. Based on the results of the students' competency knowledge research  tcount 2.85 > ttable 1.67, the competency attitudes tcount 1.78 > ttable 1.67, and the skills competency tcount 1.78 > ttable 1.67. It showed the hypothesis is accepted. Application of the talking chips model containing science literacy can improve the competencies of class VII students of Junior High School 20 Padang.

The low learning competencies of students is caused by several problems encountered during the teaching and learning process, including the problems that the first textbook used has not involved students actively playing a role in the learning process, learning is still monotonous and the student notebook is incomplete. One of the efforts that is done to increase students’ learning competencies is to apply a biological module with a scientific approach equipped with a glossary in discovery learning models. This research used a Randomized Control Group Posttest Only Design. The population is all student of class 1 SMAN 1 Pariaman. Sampel was taken by using purposive sampling  technique. The control class uses textbooks with learning models Discovery learning and experimental classes use biological modules with discovery learning models. Instrument The research instrument used was in the form of a learning competency test, an assessment of attitudes and skills in the form of an observation sheet. The t-test results revealed that knowledge competencies t count > t table (7.06> 1.7), t test results 'competency skills t count < t table ( 0,925< 1.7), and t test results' competency attitude t count < t table (0,76< 1.7). This shows that the hypothesis is accepted in the aspect of knowledge that is not followed by aspects of skills and attitudes. This research is based on the problems that exist at junior high school 28 padang, namely the learning model that is less varied, students' learning competencies are still low. Efforts that can be done are applying thelearning model teams games tournament (TGT) with scientific literacy in the  Respiratory  system material at 28 Padang Junior High School. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the application of thelearning model that Teams Games Tournamen (TGT) contained scientific literacy to the learning competencies of Grade VIII students of 28 SMP Negeri Padang. This research is an experimental research with randomized control group posttest only design. The study population is the students of class VIII Junior high school 28 padang 2018/2019 academic year which spread into nine classes. Sampling research using simple random sampling. The results were selected class VIII.3 as experimental class and class VIII.5 as a control class. The hypothesis in this study was tested using the t-test. The results of the study using the t-test it can be concluded that the competency of students' knowledge of the value of tcount 3,34> ttable 1.67, in the competency attitude the value of tcount is 1,84> ttable 1.67, and the competence of value skills tcount 1,85> ttable 1.67. This shows that the hypothesis is accepted. So, it can be concluded that the application of TGT models with scientific literacy can improve the competency of knowledge, attitudes, and skills of class VIII students of junior high school 28 Padang.

This research is based on the problems that exist in Batusangkar 1 Junior High School, namely the learning model that is less varied, student learning abilities are still low, teacher-centered learning. The effort that can be done is to apply the snowball throwing learning model with scientific literacy in the material of Excretion System at Batusangkar 1 Junior High School. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the application of the snowball throwing learning model containing scientific literacy on the learning competencies of class VIII students of Batusangkar 1 Junior High School. This study was an experimental study with a randomized posttest control group design. The study population was grade VIII students of SMPN 1Batusangkar in the academic year 2018/2019 which spread to nine classes. The research sample was taken using cluster random sampling. The results were selected class VIII.3 as the experimental class and class VIII.4 as the control class. The hypothesis in this study was tested using the t-test. The results of the study using the t-test can be concluded that the competency of student knowledge about the value of tcount 4.31> ttable 1.67, in the attitude of competency the tcount 5.41> ttable 1.67, and competency skills tcount 3.85> ttable 1.67. This shows that the hypothesis is accepted. So, it can be concluded that the application of the snowball throwing model with scientific literacy can improve the competency of knowledge, attitudes, and skills of class VIII Batusangkar 1 Junior High School.

The study aims to determine whether the mathematics learning outcomes of students who learn discovery learning are better than students who learn conventionally. It also aims to find out whether the mathematics learning outcomes of students with high initial abilities and low initial abilities with discovery learning are better than students who learn conventionally. This type of research is a Quasi Experiment with quantitative approach design and used was a randomized control group only design with treatment by blocks. The population in this study were students of class VII  Islamic private junior high school or MTsS Darussalam Ampiang Parak, Sutera Sub District, Pesisir Selatan. The research sample was randomly selected,namely students of class VII.1 as the experimental class and VII.2 as the control class. The research data were obtained from the results of the initial ability test and the final test given after the experiment was carried out. Data analysis using t test.The results of the analysis show that: 1) The mathematics learning outcomes of students with discovery learning model are better than those taught by conventional learning, 2) Mathematics learning outcomes of students with high initial abilities and students with low initial abilities with discovery learning learning models of learning arebetter than students with high initial abilities. taught by conventionallearning. The results could be a solution for teachers to provide learning to develop students' ability invention, especially in the discovery of mathematical concepts and problem solving both in learning and in daily life

The research problem at junior high school 21 Padang is the learning model that is less varied, the low learning competencies of students from aspects of knowledge, attitudes, and skills. Efforts that can be made are applying the Make A Match learning model on respiratory system material at junior high school 21 Padang. This type of research is an experimental study with a randomized control group posttest only design study design. The population in this study were all class VIII junior high school 21 Padang which were registered in the 2018/2019 Academic Year totaling eight classes. Sampling was done using simple random sampling technique, which was chosen as the research sample was class VIII.4 as the experimental class and class VIII.5 as the control class. The instruments used were in the form of posttest questions for knowledge competencies, observation sheets for attitude and skills competencies. The hypothesis in this study was tested using the t-test. Based on the results of the students' competency research, the tcount was 3.55> ttable 1.67, in the attitude competency tcount 2.64> ttable 1.67, and in the competency of skills tcount 2.54> ttable 1.67. The conclusion of the study is that the application of the Make A Match model can improve the competency of knowledge, attitudes, and skills of class VIII students of SMPN 21 Padang.

Making concept map homework is expected can improve students’ learning activities in science. The aim of this study is to determine the effect of the Discovery Learning model  preceded by making concept map homework through students’ learning competencies in science (knowledge, attitudes and skill) at grade VII in Junior High School 16 Padang.  Based on the hypothesis, it is known that the knowledge competency tcount  >  ttable (5,96 > 1,67), the attitude competency tcount > ttable (6,36 > 1,67) and the skill competency tcount  >  ttable (1,69 > 1,67). The result of the study show that the hypothesis is accepted. Thus it can be concluded that the implementation of the Discovery Learning model preceded by the making concept maps homework can improve students’ science learning competences (knowledge, attitudes and skill) at grade VII in Junior High School 16 Padang.

This study aims to describe the effect of discovery learning model using sunflowers in circles on mathematics learning outcomes of grade VIII Junior High School Number (SMPN) 1 Pagaralam. The methods used in this study is descriptive method quantitative pretest-posttest design with control group design. The population in this study is the entire class VIII students of Junior High School Number (SMPN) 1 Pagaralam that amounted to 270 students with samples at 60 students. Data collection was taken by way of documentation and test be reserved in the form of the essay. The test was analyzed by documentation photograph and statistician with compare data result class experiment and class control, with the significance level of 5%. The result found in the discovery learning approach using sunflowers give good effect the result of learning, this is average experiment class is better than with control class.
