A gecko-inspired silicone rubber array was successfully fabricated by ICP etching strategy. Adhesion properties of this gecko-inspired structure were studied through two parallel and independent approaches: experiments and model simulations. In our former work, based on the JKR (Johnson-Kendall-Roberts) contact theory, we proposed a nonlinear mechanical model to formulate the adhesion between a fiber and substrate. Now SPM experimental results verify the maximum adhesion force; show that fiber structure has being relatively better adhesion than unstructured. Moreover, some experimental phenomena explained by our present model.

NiTi shape memory alloy (SMA) vascular stent, with good bio-compatibility and super-elastic properties, has become an important medical device in clinical treatment of cardiovascular or cerebrovascular diseases. The free expansion of stent in vessel involves the mechanical behavior of geometric large deformation related to the structure of super-elastic. In this paper, the nonlinear mechanical model for the substructure of NiTi shape memory alloy vascular stent is established, and the displacement deformation equation is derived. The geometric non-linearity of the structure is proved. Furthermore, the geometric nonlinear mechanical model is verified by numerical method. The mechanical analysis model of NiTi shape memory alloy vascular stent is widely used in the field of tracheal stent and so on.

We suppose that vacuum is filled with a kind of continuously distributed matter which may be called the $\Omega(1)$ substratum, or the electromagnetic aether. Suppose that the time scale of a macroscopic observer is very large compares to the the Maxwelllian relaxation time of the $\Omega(1)$ substratum. Thus, the macroscopic observer concludes that the $\Omega(1)$ substratum behaves like a Newtonian-fluid. Inspired by H. A. Lorentz, we speculate that electric charges may be extremely small hard spherical sources or spherical sinks with finite radii. Based on the spherical source and spherical sink model of electric charges, we derive Coulomb's law of interactions between static electric charges in vacuum. Further, we derive a reduced form of the Lorentz's force law for static electric charges in vacuum.

AbstractAt present, research on hydraulic mounts has mainly focused on the prediction of the dynamic stiffness and loss angle. Compared to the traditional finite element analysis method, the programming method can be used to analyze hydraulic mounts for a rapid and accurate understanding of the influence of the different mounting parameters on the dynamic stiffness and loss angle. The aims of this study were to investigate the nonlinear dynamic characteristics of a hydraulic mount, and to identify the parameters that affect the dynamic stiffness and loss angle using MATLAB software programs to obtain the influence curves of the parameters, so as to use suitable parameters as the basis for vibration analysis. A nonlinear mechanical model of a hydraulic mount was established according to the basic principles of fluid dynamics. The dynamic stiffness and loss angle of the dimensionless expression were proposed. A numerical calculation method for the dynamic performance evaluation index of the hydraulic mount was derived. A one-to-one correspondence was established between the structural parameters and peak frequency of the evaluation index. The accuracy and applicability of the mechanical model were verified by the test results. The results demonstrated the accuracy of the nonlinear mechanical model of the hydraulic mount, and the vehicle driving comfort was greatly improved by the optimization of the structural parameters.
