The possibilities of computer technologies in improving the quality of teaching mathematics and its application in the 7th grade students studied the impact on the development of mathematical thinking. This paper aims to discuss some of the specifics regardingthe use of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) in school life, especially in pedagogical practices and exercise management, emphasizethe need for training of school managers for the effective use of these resources, contextualised, meaningful and critically. The methodological procedure that guided the development of this study was based on the realization of a systematic literature review in Scielo databases. The choice for this type of research was due to enable the researcher to have contact with the knowledge already produced in the "Technologies and School Management" as well as the possibility of understanding and identifying the main ideas that guide the theme in question here . It conducted a survey of scientific publications, producedin Brazil in the last 10 years between 2004 to 2014, discussing the use of information and communication technologies in school, especially articulated to the school management. The descriptors used were: "Technologies in School" and "School Management". The main results obtained from this study, which does not exhaust the wealth the theme, highlights the importance of developing training processes that promote service to school managers and their teams moments of reflections in pairs and the perceived need of building a collaborative and digital culture in schools.

I provide a philosophical analysis of the claim that ICTs are necessary preconditions for the eradication of poverty. What are the links between information and communication technologies (ICTs) and poverty? I first define technology and then give a brief depiction of ICTs. Thereafter I define poverty and give a brief expla-nation of its context and causes. Next I discuss the relationship between poverty and ICTs in three paradigm cases: [i] the role of ICTs in poor societies, [ii] the effect of poor ICT knowledge and skill of individuals in highly developed technological societies, and [iii] the impact of impoverished ICT knowledge and skills on the rich, powerful, and intelligent ones in society. I propose a procedure for decision making about the appropria-tion of ICTs by individuals and societies. I assess the claim that both access to ICTs and effective use of them are preconditions for the eradication of poverty.

The paper by Conole and Dyke sets the context by pointing to a number of problems that inhibit the widespread, effective use of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) to support learning. They argue that this situation highlights the need to explore a theoretical basis for the use of ICT to support learning. The central argument of the paper is that the notion of affordances can make a significant contribution to this endeavour. The paper aims to articulate the potential impact of these affordances primarily through the development of a taxonomy. It draws on social constructivist theory to help understand and articulate the impact of these affordances. The concept of affordances is potentially both rich and provocative. Conole and Dyke provide a refreshing and diverse look at the theoretical basis for the use of ICT to support learning. We have structured our commentary around six questions that are provided by Conole and Dyke in their Discussion section. Whilst examining these questions we highlight various issues raised by the paper, which we believe, need further consideration and clarification.DOI: 10.1080/0968776042000259591

The adoption of Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) by small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) leads to cost reduction in processes and organizational effectiveness. The effective use of ICTs, however, greatly depends on their good governance, especially due to the impact generated by investments in information and communication technologies. In this scenario, we aimed at defining the state of art of IT governance in SMEs. A broad review of the literature on IT governance in SMEs was performed. The results indicated a field of research with little development, with 32 studies identified until the year 2018. Three research lines were observed. Initially, the researchers have discussed the barriers and characteristics of ITG in SMEs. In the next step, the studies were directed to the establishment of an ITG framework applicable to SMEs reality. The last line of research observed the IT capacities in relation to the environment in which the SME operates. The studies indicated a prevalence of qualitative approaches under the positivist paradigm.

The ‘Information Society’ (IS) is a nebulous and an insidious concept. It refers to our current society in which new technology provides an ‘information superhighway’ and emerging applications like e-mail, videoconferencing, and electronic commerce provide a context. It is a society in which the communication of information and knowledge is being revolutionized so dramatically that it changes not just work but the context of work and living. Indeed, the very nature of society itself is changing. This paper considers the impact of the IS on organizations and the implications for people who work in them. The effective use of information and communication technologies (ICTs) will also necessitate a change in the skills needed at work and within the developing society. Training and education will need to address such skill shifts. Further changes to society are likely to arise from increased Internet-based commerce, reduced commuting time, and altered leisure time that will itself drive an increase in the leisure market. Data are presented arising from trans-European work as a result of which a model of change has been developed following the introduction of IS-based technologies and applications into organizations. This can be used to predict the impact of such changes on the future skills likely to be needed by a range of organizations.

The impact and benefit that information and communication technologies (ICT) have in the educational field require new teaching skills. This fact has been increased by the recent crisis caused by COVID-19. This study tries to investigate the level of digital teaching competence (DTC) of Higher Education teachers of Health Sciences, and its relationship with several variables. For this, it has the participation of 300 teachers from the 9 universities of Andalusia (Spain). The research is structured through a descriptive (RQ1) and inferential (RQ2) design. The answers given to the DigCompEdu Check-In questionnaire adapted to the Spanish context are analyzed. The results, which show high levels of reliability of the questionnaire (Cronbach and McDonald) and validity (CFA), indicate that the level of competence is basic-intermediate. In addition, the area in which teachers excel is digital resources. For this reason, it is proposed to structure personalized training plans and continue expanding the characteristics of this study at an international level.
