Deconstructing the Information Age in Information Literacy

This presentation explores the role of the Information Age in Information Literacy. The Information Age asserts that the recent proliferation of information and communication technology has fundamentally altered our society. Librarians have responded to the Information Age in part through developing Information Literacy. This project critically examines the relationship between the two concepts.Cette présentation explore le rôle de l'ère de l'information dans la maîtrise de l'information. L'ère de l'information se traduit par la récente prolifération des technologies de l'information et des communications qui ont fondamentalement altéré la société. Les bibliothécaires ont répondu à cet ère de l'information en partie en développant des techniques de maîtrise de l'information. Ce projet examine d'un point de vue critique le lien entre ces deux concepts.

The study ains to detemine the role of information and communication technology in education. The information and communication technology in general, including computers ( literacy) and information literacy, which means students recognize the teams used in information and communication techology. In the Qur’ran there are so many commads, statement, suggestions, satires and so on that subtantially lin islamic teachings to science and technology. The results of this study found that the role of information technology in education, in addition to helping students in learning also had a quite influentia r ole for teachers especially in the use of facilities to enrich teaching skills, and the Qur’ran as a quide and quidance for the development of science and technology in order to strengthen faith and improve human well being

The purpose of this study is to assess how information and communication technology (ICT) adoption influences organizational performance (OP) during the Covid-19 pandemic by highlighting psychometric variables such as employees’ organizational commitment (OC), growth mindset (GM), and entrepreneurial orientation (EO). Based on the complementarity theory, we built a theoretical framework where OC, GM, and EO mediate the influence of ICT on OP and tested hypotheses proposed. Responses of 297 employees from agriculture cooperatives in Côte d’Ivoire were obtained on the basis of questionnaires which composed the data for this study. The empirical analysis affirmed the significant and positive effect of ICT adoption on OP, and the significant mediating effect of OC and GM in the relationship between ICT adoption and OP. However, the role of EO in mediating the influence of ICT adoption on OP is insignificant. This research increases understanding of the underlying process of the relationship between ICT adoption and organizational performance during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Purpose In the current competitive environment in which retailers operate, store equity is seen as a key differentiating factor. In view of the scarce research on the dimensionality and correlates of brand equity related to the retailer, this paper aims to analyze the relationship between store equity and behavioral intentions and the influence of information and communication technology on this relation. Design/methodology/approach From a sample of 820 customers of store chains, a multigroup structural equation model is estimated considering the level of technological development of the retailer as a moderating variable. Findings The authors find evidence in favor of the positive influence of store equity on consumer behavioral intentions toward the retailer and the role of technology as a moderator in this relationship. Research limitations/implications This paper provides evidence about the multidimensionality of store equity and its positive influence on behavioral intentions towards the retailer. Furthermore, the authors find support for the notion that information and communication technology (ICT) solutions implemented by the retailer contributes to reinforce the positive impact of store equity on behavioral intentions. Practical implications Technology may be used to differentiate the retail chain from competitors. The retailer should concentrate its investments in ICT solutions that contribute to enhance the customer experience in the store. Originality/value Research on the brand equity concept in the context of retailing is still scarce. The results of this research provide support to the role of loyalty, service quality, product quality and perceived value as the dimensions of store equity. In addition to this, to the best of authors’ knowledge, this is the first paper that addresses the role of technology in the relationship between store equity and behavioral intentions.

This study aims to determine the role of information and communication technology in education. The information and communication technology in general aims to make students understand information and communication technology devices in general, including computers (literacy) and information literacy, which means students recognize the terms used in information and communication technology. In the Qur'an there are so many commands, statements, suggestions, satires and so on that substantially link Islamic teachings to science and technology. If we want to convert our rural population into knowledge driven, progressive, self sufficient, self reliant, sustainable society, the role of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT’s) cannot be ignored. Timely availability information is considered as most important factor in Indian agriculture. At present ICT is the technology of this millennium. Transferring the developed technology to all end users is time-consuming and tiresome task and is often not completed due to paucity of resources and lack of manpower. In India, agriculture and rural development has gained significantly from ICT due to its widespread extension and adoption. In this era of internet, ICT is committed to provide real, timely accurate authentic information to the farmers and rural peoples.

In the last few decades, Information Technology has transformed the entire world into a village, known as Global Village, as proposed by Marshal McLuhan. ICT has increased its influence in every field like the education sector, defense sector, technology etc. In the 21st century, information and communication technology (ICT) has become an important and integral part of most educational organizations throughout the world.. The use of ICT in classroom teaching and learning processes has become indispensable as it gives teachers and learners the opportunity to operate, store, control and retrieve data in addition to promoting self-regulated and active learning. (Ali, Haolader & Muhammad, 2013) Today we are dependent on technology and the role of ICT is increasing day by day and is believed to be a new normal. Keeping that in view, the present paper attempts to examine the relationship between information and communication technologies (ICT) and student learning. This conceptual paper  is based on secondary information collected from different sources such as books, journal articles, newspapers, reports of various government organizations, non-governmental organizations and soon.

In order to promote utilizing the available resource made in any library information has to be taken to the door step of a clientele a such information and communication technology will serve as a catalyst in doing that. This paper has explored the role of information and communication technology ICT in academia and as well as the strategies used in propagating the available services in an academic library this is because tailor made information it is highly required so as to avoid wasting the precious time of academicians and this can be only achieving with the help of information and communication technology software, therefore, descriptive method was adopted in the methodology of this study.
