This study aims to provide exposure to hygiene management and healthy eating practices among primary school students. This study is a case study using a psycho-educational approach with 4 cohort counseling sessions. The cohort sample consisted of 13 primary school students aged 7 to 9. They are 1st grade boys and girls in a transit center (tahfiz) in Bandar Baru Bangi. The findings show that group members have a sense of responsibility for personal hygiene and environment as well as knowledge of healthy and clean eating practices for daily living. The findings of the study also found that the psycho-educational approach to group counseling is very effective in helping students improve their awareness of hygiene and healthy eating. The application of good hygiene elements and nutrition practices should be taken into account in order for the child's physical growth to thrive and to achieve academic success while minimizing health problems. The importance of hygiene and healthy eating through psycho education has implications for students, teachers in tahfiz centers and parents. They play a role in educating children on personal hygiene, environment and healthy eating habits as a very effective measure to prevent the risk of attacking diseases that impede children's development.

Pemberian obat cacing setiap enam bulan mampu memberikan efek proteksi terhadap infeksi STH (OR=0.085; 95%CI 0.016-0.449). Kata kunci: Faktor risiko, infeksi STH, anak sekolah dasar   Abstract   Background: Chronic soil transmitted helminth (STH) infection might cause nutritional, growth and cognitive impairment in children. Identifying the risk factors of STH infection is crucially needed to minimize the infection effects. This study aimed to identify risk factors associated with STH infections among primary school students in Seraya Timur Village, Karangasem, Bali. Methods: This study used a cross-sectional design with a total sampling method. The study was conducted in January 2020. Risk factors data were collected using a questionnaire. The diagnosis of STH infection was done by stool examination with the Kato-Katz method. The chi-square test was used to determine the risk factors associated with STH infection. Results: 83 students with ages ranging from 6-12 years participated in this study. There were 9 students (10.84%) whose infected with mild infection of STH. 55.56% of students were infected by Trichuris trichiura, 33.33% were Ascaris lumbricoides infections and 11.11% were hookworm infections. There were several risk factors that significantly associated with STH infection including ground’s playing (OR=6.86; 95%CI 1.326-35.494), barefoot (OR=10.5; 95%CI 1.249-88.278), did not wash hands after playing soil (OR=9.450; 95%CI 1.809-49.358) and did not routinely cut their nails (OR=6.462; 95%CI 1.250-33.388). Deworming every six months could provide a protective effect against STH infection (OR=0.085; 95%CI 0.016-0.449). Conclusion: Personal hygiene is a risk factor associated with STH infection. It is recommended to increase personal hygiene promotion besides dewormed every six months. Keywords: Risk factors, STH infection, primary school students

Health problems that are still considered trivial and less attention is the problem of worms. The prevalence of worms in Indonesia reached 28.12%. This is influenced by a lack of knowledge about the importance of clean and healthy living behavior (PHBS) which includes knowledge of personal hygiene. The purpose of this study is To assess the effect of health education on the behavior of Personal Hygiene In Primary School Students Who Were Experiencing Wear at Pampang I Inpres I Makassar City. The research design used is pre experimental approach with one group pre and post test design with sampling technique that is total sampling, total sample is 146 samples, the result of this research is presented in the form of narration and table. Data were analyzed using T test statistic test with significance level α = 0, 005. The result showed that there was a significant change of personal hygiene knowledge before and after health education with significant value ρ = 0.001, no significant change in personal hygiene attitude before and after health education given the value of ρ = 1, 818, but there is still a positive attitude increase that is before the positive attitude intervention of 18.8% increased to 71.3% after intervention and there is a meaningful change in personal hygiene before and after given health education with value ρ = 0.001. There is a change in personal hygiene behavior from before and after health education given 71.25% to be better behavior. This research became a reference and learning materials for nursing students, especially nursing and nursing epidemiology.

The aim of this study was to identify the factors associated with school refusal behavior in primary school students. Student’s self-report and teacher’s measures were implemented; and students were recruited from 20 primary schools in six districts in Selangor, Malaysia. The survey was conducted at the end of school term in 2016, with a total of 915 students from Year 4 and Year 5 participating. The sample of students had been absent from school for more than 15% of school days in the current year. Pearson correlation shows a significant relationship between academic achievement and school satisfaction toward school refusal behavior. The findings of this study suggest that academic difficulties and dissatisfaction towards school environment could be the important risk factors for school refusal behavior. The present study underscores the importance of early detection and intervention as measures to reduce school refusal. Finally, the findings imply that the role of school factors should always be taken into account in connection with school refusal behaviour.
