Density and population of bogor that keeps increasing will add the duty of government to provide more public means of mass. Transportation is a vital public facility. Public transport available in Bogor is a city transportation (public transportation) and buses. The existence of a number of public transportation totaling 3,412 units and 30 units of bus has been able to serve the needs of the community in transportation, but in terms of efficiency and comfort are still far from expected. Based on the results of Stated Preference regression models, we concluded that the most efficient mass transportation is city buses, and the most variable priority attribute passengers on a city bus is the bus occupancy, the bus waiting time efficiency, got a seat, bus convenience and cost/ bus rates. So the recommendation that we can give, the problem due to public transport in bogor can be solved by the means of mass transportation such as city buses. Public transport coverage fails to keep pace with urbanization and urban expansion, which makes the “last kilometer" problem of residents’ travel increasingly prominent”. However, the practice has proved that microcirculation public transportation plays an important role in expanding the coverage of public transportation and promoting the integration of public transportation. Therefore, this paper takes a city bus community as an example. Firstly, it analyses the bus travel demand of commuters connecting to the subway station during the early workday rush hours on basis of IC Big Data, obtains candidate stations of microcirculation bus lines through K-means clustering. Secondly, it establishes the model, the target of which is to minimize  the cost residents' travel and bus operation, under the limited condition of walking distance, passenger number, station spacing and departure frequency. Finally, the genetic algorithm is used to find the optimal solution of the model, so it’s no doubt that the most feasible circular bus route is obtained. The results have positive significance for promoting the construction and operation of public transport integration and promoting the convenience and efficiency of public transport travel.

One aspect of Kuching City that has not progressed in tandem with the rest of the city is the public transport system, which is relatively old and almost non-existent. Transport and City planners seem to be at their wit’s end in coming up with satisfactory solutions to Kuching’s public transportation woes. In current situation, many proposals, but none have proven workable. As a result, representative buses remain a rare sight on Kuching city’s roads. To achieve a sustainable public transport industry, the old buses need to be regenerated and replaced with modern buses. The objectives of the intended study are to explore the consumer’s travel behaviour by employing mode choice modelling. Consequently, a study was conducted in Kuching City Area by using stated preference technique, analysed and compiled by using SPSS.17 multiple linear regressions analysis. In this context, discrete choice analysis was used to examine the relationship between independent variables (travel time, waiting time, fares and comfort) and dependent variables (choice of respondent whether to consume old bus or choose new bus services). A total of 2000 respondents were interviewed. The findings showed that for the trips purpose, fares and comfortability were the primary factors that reflected the decision or behaviour of the respondents asked. It was discovered that there is a significant relationship between the choice of the respondents and comfortability. It also appeared that longer travel time did not affect for the traveler’s choice at this stage. Hence, the study suggests that the local authority and the bus operators should establish a “quality partnership” and working together in order to come out with a much better and appropriate transport policy and schemes for the existing public transportation systems, especially bus services.

Development of new mode of metro kapsul as mass transportation mode in Bandung with corridor plan from Station Hall to Tegallega and return to Station Hall with plan of 19 stop station which can give contribution to congestion problem and lack of public transportation service in Bandung city. This study aims to analyze the potential of demand with the data of origin - destination of the respondent in the corridor plan of the metro capsule in order to give a description of the movement in the origin-destination matrix, in analysis for potential demand used the modal movement assumption of private vehicles, public transport and pedestrian, The location of priority shelter at the beginning of development by using multicriteria analysis while for operational analysis is calculated some variables of capsule metro operating system (headways, frequencies, etc). The result of origin-destination matrix analysis is getting potential demand of metro capsule during weekdays on-peak of 3529 pass/hour, off-peak of 2116 pass/hour. The result of location priority stop location will get 6 (six) stop location recommended in “Stasiun Bandung, Pasar Baru, Pasar Anyar, Taman Tegallega, ITC Kebon Kelapa and Alun-Alun Bandung”. From the operational results of metro capsule, obtained frequence of 20 Unit/jam, headways 3 minutes, the number of vehicles required 8 vehicles, on weekdays and weekends when on-peak and off-peak.

The increasing number of private vehicles shows that the public transportation system in Makassar has not been maximized. this is also due to the absence of other alternative public transportation modes that can be used by the community in their activities. This study aims to determine the preference of public modes of choice if offered other alternatives, especially public transport with greater capacity. Public transportation offered in this study is busway and monorail. In this study the community was faced with 3 modes of choice namely city transportation, monorail, and busway. The data collection method used was a survey with stated preference based questionnaires, which reviewed nine conditions for variable change in travel speed. The construction of the model was carried out using STATA software and city transportation was used as the base outcome. The model is based on discrete selection models and is analyzed by the multinomial logit model. The results showed that in the nine conditions of change in travel speed, the mode of city transportation was still more dominantly chosen by the community.

The results of a test to assess the external validity of a stated preference model of destination choice in the context of leisure trips are reported. This model differs from conventional stated preference models in transportation in that it incorporates variety seeking and seasonality in specification of the choice model. The results indicate that the model performed reasonably well; seasonality is predicted quite well, but in some specific situations the model overpredicts observed variety-seeking choices.

This study examines consumer preferences for three socially responsible products: minimal-pesticide strawberries, fair-trade bananas, and milk from pasture-fed cows. In-person survey data were collected in four states. Understanding preferences for these characteristics is difficult because they may appeal to different individuals depending on their personal attitudes and values. To address this issue, health, environmental and other attitudes are measured based on survey questions. Responses to these questions are used to produce explanatory factor scores. Stated preference models, both with and without factor scores, are estimated to evaluate the relative strengths of consumer preferences and motivations to purchase these products.

AbstractThe objective of this work is to analyze the current situation of public transportation in major cities of metropolitan Cariri - EC. The research focus is characterized by being a case study, whose object of study is the Urban Public Transportation in the main cities of metropolitan Cariri - RMC. The research has a qualitative exploratory-descriptive and key methodological procedures used were literature review and field visits. It was noted that there are many problems faced by users of public transport in the cities of the study, such as overcrowding of vehicles, scrapping of vehicles; noncompliance schedules, low supply lines, and the waiting time for vehicles. It is noticed that there is a need for implementation in the municipalities of the MRC, an efficient public transportation system that meets the needs of the population with regard to comfort, safety, routes and minimizing environmental impacts. KeywordsTransportation.
