This paper provides a broad critical review of the research that examined the emotional factors such as learners’ attitudes, motivation, language anxiety, autonomy, and self-esteem in the context of learning English as a foreign language (EFL) in Saudi Arabia over a period of 20 years (2000-2020). The aim of this critical review is to answer some questions relating to identifying the most common themes of research efforts in this area, the strengths, and weaknesses among it; and to explain how such efforts have contributed to the development of English language learning/teaching within the Saudi context. The study is significant in that the findings identified some issues with thematic orientation in Saudi EFL emotion research—particularly regarding under- and over-explored topics due to an element of randomness in how research topics related to EFL emotions are often selected and explored, with some topic areas receiving excessive attention and others receiving little or no attention. Some issues related to research design and methodology were also acknowledged and assessed. The study suggests that it is useful to develop ways to coordinate and streamline future research on EFL emotions in Saudi Arabia and to work towards developing new research protocols that investigate the practicalities of language learning emotions in real learning situations.

This study aimed at evaluating the content of the Jordanian mathematics textbook for the elementary fourth-grade in order to find out the extent that the fourth-grade mathematics textbook includes the standards of the American national for Council mathematics teachers (NCTM-2000), which concerned with mathematical operations (problem-solving, reasoning and proof, mathematical communication, Connections mathematical, mathematical representation) from the point of view of mathematical Connections teachers in Ma'an Governorate, thus, to find out the reasons for the low achievement of students in mathematics international tests. In order to fulfill these objectives, the descriptive analytical approach was used, that is a list of (NCTM) standards was prepared and changed into a questionnaire which was applied on a sample consisted of (119) male and female mathematics teachers for the primary fourth grade representing the study community. The results of the study showed that the extent to which the basic (NCTM) standards are included in the mathematics book for the fourth grade was at a moderate percentage on average about (2.76), the mathematical connection standard had the highest availability at (3.10), followed by the mathematical communication standard (3.08), the representation of mathematical operation at (2.99) respectively, and the problem solving standard at (2.51), whereas the reasoning and proof standard had the least representation. The findings also indicated there were statistically significant differences with regard to the experience variable and for the favor of (11-and more) category. Regarding the social gender, it did not have an effect. The study sets out several recommendations such as, developing the mathematics curriculum in the light of national standards, increasing the percentage of (NCTM) standards in the fourth-grade mathematics textbook, and the necessity to focus on issues connected with proof and reasoning, and problem solving.

Bio Fuels are considered as good alternatives for conventional fossil fuels. By the year 2020, in the GCC region these fuels are able to meet around 0.5 - 1% of total transportation fuel demand. This industry grew at rate of 3.4% over the period of 2015-2020 with a strong projected growth in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA). Bio fuels are used to operate automotive for mining and construction industries. Critical barriers in foreign investments pose a major challenge for growth of this sector in the GCC region. The presented work discusses situation and growth predictions of Bio-Fuel industry in the GCC region. It also discusses about current growth, trends, opportunities and challenges being faced by major companies operating in the GCC region.

The National Commission for Wildlife Conservation and Development (NCWCD) was established in 1986 to oversee all wildlife conservation programmes in Saudi Arabia. One of the first species-specific programmes, started in the same year, was a houbara bustard Chlamydotis undulata macqueenii captive-breeding project at the National Wildlife Research Center. With the production in 1992 of a selfsustaining captive houbara flock and the provision of an annual surplus of houbara chicks, attention has shifted to the release of captive-bred houbara into protected areas. Critical review of the houbara programme in 1993 emphasized the need for field studies, public-awareness programmes and international collaboration in addition to captive-rearing and release.
