AbstractThis study aims to produce a Pop-Up Book media based on Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) in achieving valid, practical, and effective problem solving abilities of junior high school students. This research is a Thiagarajan development study with 3 stages: define, design, and develop. The validity of the product is seen from the results of expert validation, the practicality of the product is seen from the results of the questionnaire, while the effectiveness of the product is seen from the results of the trial run. The results of the validation of the experts obtained the material aspect was declared valid with 82.42%, while the media aspect was declared very valid with 86.15%. The results of the teacher questionnaire responses obtained of 90.59%, while the results of student response questionnaires obtained of 89.12% with very practical criteria. The trial results obtained of 81.58% with effective criteria where there are 31 students who completed and 7 students who did not complete the minimum graduation standards determined by the school is 75 for mathematics. Therefore, it can be concluded that CTL-based Pop-Up Book media can facilitate the achievement of junior high school students' problem solving abilities.

The study deals with the Contextual Teaching and Learning of the students’ reading comprehension at junior high school. Contextual Teaching and Learning is a new alternative for every teachers to relate the materials to the real world. The aims of the research are to analyze the effect of non and CTL method of the students’ reading comprehension.  The research method is an experimental method. The data analysis is taken from the two classess. Then, they divided into two  groups, the control and experimental group. The major findings of the study shows that the effect of Contextual Teaching and Learning on the students’ reading comprehension is better than the non CTL method-lecture method for the junior high school students.

This study aims to examine the achievement and improvement of the ability of understanding and mathematical reasoning and motivation through Think Talk Write (TTW) approach to junior high school students. The population in this study is all junior high school in West Bandung Regency and the sample is class VIII of SMPS Darun Nasya, The instrument used in the research is a question of understanding and mathematical reasoning and questionnaire of learning motivation attitude, then the data obtained is processed through a two-way ANOVA test and correlation and regression test, data processing using IBM Statistics SPSS 21. Results of research involving TTW as independent variables in the experimental class and direct learning in the control class showed: There was a difference in achievement and improvement of mathematical understanding between control and experiment class, There are differences in achievement and improvement of mathematical reasoning between control and experiment class, There is difference of student's learning motivation between control and experiment class.

The aim of this study was to investigate the improvement of the students’ attentionafter using there different methods of HICAI-SOI, HICAI-Media, and with out CAIthree exell-1, exell-2 and regularly class. The research method was Quasi-experiment.The sample of the research were 90 persons from class VIII Junior High SchoolStudents 7 Padang, that was selected randomly. Prior knowledge of student as bilinearcovariant is obtained through cognitive domain test and attention score of learning iscollected through questionnaire. The validity and reability of both instrument weretested, and the coefficient 0,83 and 0,92. Result of examination applies bilinearcovariant analyst technique (ANACOVA) factorial 3x3x1, successfully controls initialability equal to 67%. Attention of student learning increases in signifikan from studytrivariable, to three treatment classes [F(2, 253)=183,92, p<0,05] with effect size equalto 59%, difference of class to attention also highly significant [ F(2,253)=8,39, p<0,05]with effect size equal to 6%, medium of interaction influence between various studieswith class also highly signifikan [F(2,253)=8,39, p<0,05] with effect size equal to7%.Result of analysis shows the contribution of various study to increase attention offar bigger than difference of class and interaction. Therefore, the conjecture of thewriter that the attention influences learning process in provable emperical. Thisresearch showed that the student Junior High School Students is more interested tostudy physics with HICAI-SOI. Its gives more impact on the students’ attention atregular class, It is concluded that the use of HICAI can improve the attention of JuniorHigh School Students.

This study aims to determine students' problems in learning English, especially in terms of speaking and listening. Basically, the teaching and learning process will run smoothly if students feel comfortable with the learning activities; therefore, this research provides some appropriate suggestions for teachers in overcoming difficulties faced by students. The respondents of this study were junior high school students. This study used a questionnaire as an instrument to determine the extent of students' skills in English. This study also conducted data analysis by analyzing the importance of English in students' views, the difficulties encountered in learning English, and also the teacher's teaching strategies desired by students. The results of this study indicate that most students have some difficulties in speaking due to lack of confidence and skills such as pronunciation, vocabulary, and grammar. Likewise, the difficulty in listening is caused by students’ lack of vocabulary that leads to the difficulty in understanding conversations in English. To overcome this problem, teachers need to have strategies such as identification, diagnosis, prognosis, and assistance or therapy. This research can facilitate the teachers in knowing complaints about English language difficulties experienced by the students.
