The study identifies the factors and measures the influence on the use of logistics services by seafood exporting enterprises in Ho Chi Minh City. Many research models on the same and relevant fields are reviewed to provide the comprehensive research background of the topic. Thereby, the research model and hypotheses are proposed with 26 observed variables for 05 factors of using logistics services. The survey is conducted in Ho Chi Minh City with 161 valid answers accepted for the analysis. After various statistical techniques to fully analyze data, the findings show that there is statistically significant relationship between all five factors and the use of logistics services by seafood exporting enterprises. Transportation time is the most influential factor, followed by reliability, cost, reputation and service quality. In accordance with these results, implications are proposed for both seafood exporting enterprises and logistics service providers to improve their operations and business performance. Despite the limitations during research process, the study has made a significant contribution to the literature of B2B buying relationship in the logistics industry.

A lean termelés javít a vállalatok operatív teljesítményén. ____________ The lean production has improved the operational performance of companies. However a clear link between lean production and business performance can not be detected. In their research the authors have identified the factors affecting business performance focusing on business results of the advanced lean producers. Although a direct connection is not detected between lean production and business performance, but according to the author expects the continuously improving operational performance shall be a base for the balanced and stable business performance.

This study identifies the factors that affect the business performance of Small, Micro and Medium Enterprises (SMMEs) in the Sekhukhune District of the Limpopo Province in South Africa. The study collected data from a randomly selected sample of 200 SMMEs and used WARP PLS software to analyse data. The results indicated that five factors, namely “finance”, “characteristics of entrepreneurs”, “location of business”, “government support”, as well as “products and services” were positively related to business performance. In contrast to other studies, this study found that owners’ personal funds and their proper management played a key role in the performance of businesses. This has a major implication for government support agencies that provide funding opportunities.

An appropriate outsourcing and supply-chain planning strategy needs to be based on compromise and more objective decision-making procedures. Although factors affecting business performance in manufacturing firms have been explored in the past, focuses are on financial performance and measurement, neglecting intangible and nonfinancial factors in the decision-making planning process. This study presents development of an integrated multi-criteria decision-making (MCDM) model. This model aids in allocating outsourcing and supply-chain resources pertinent to strategic planning by providing a satisfying solution. The model was developed based on the data obtained from a business firm producing intelligent home system devices. This developed model will reinforce a firm’s ongoing outsourcing strategies to meet defined requirements while positioning the supply-chain system to respond to a new growth and innovation.
