Willow sawfly (Nematus oligospilus (Hymenoptera Tenthredinidae)) a species recently discovered in New Zealand has spread throughout the country In Hawkes Bay it is a threat to willow trees many of which are an important part of river flood control systems A trial was conducted in Napier to test the efficacy of the insecticide Spinosad against sawflies infesting golden willows (Salix alba var vitellina) Insecticide was applied once at each of two sites while a third site was used as an untreated control Larval densities were measured on two trees from each site immediately before the experiment began and for 28 days afterwards At both treated sites 100 mortality occurred within seven days of insecticide application The results showed that Spinosad can provide effective control of willow sawfly

Natural ventilation is gaining more attention from architects and engineers as an alternative way of cooling and ventilating indoor spaces. Based on building types, it could save between 13 and 40% of the building cooling energy use. However, this needs to be implemented and operated with a well-designed and integrated control system to avoid triggering discomfort for occupants. This paper seeks to review, discuss, and contribute to existing knowledge on the application of control systems and optimisation theories of naturally ventilated buildings to produce the best performance. The study finally presents an outstanding theoretical context and practical implementation for researchers seeking to explore the use of intelligent controls for optimal output in the pursuit to help solve intricate control problems in the building industry and suggests advanced control systems such as fuzzy logic control as an effective control strategy for an integrated control of ventilation, heating and cooling systems.

Rawa Pening is a natural lake as a source of water for Tuntang River which is used for hydropower, raw water source, main irrigation water source in Glapan weir located in Grobogan District, Central Java provinces. Rawa Pening will be developed as location of national and international ecotourism. An Optimal Water Resources Management is required with several studies. This study is the beginning of a series of studies planned to determine the potential of embungs and its utilization as flood control, sediment control of Rawa Pening and for reducing weeds growth.
