The sedimentary basin Song Hong is one of the largest Cenozoic oil and gas bearing sedimentary basins, in which the center of the basin covers a large part. It elongates from block 105 to block 115. This article presents the geological structure, history of geological development, oil and gas potential and characteristics of reservoirs f the central basin, where the thickness of the basin deposits reaches more than 16 000 m.

Different geotectonic hypotheses with respect to flood basalt provinces formation interpretation were analysed. Geotectonic models are proposed to unite in two groups: II. Traditional: plume-tectonic interpretation; I. Alternative models: delamination hypothesis and others. The flood basalt provinces properties (geological structure, history of development) study permits finding the best mantle-lithosphere interaction model. Keywords: flood basalt provinces, plume-tectonics, magmatism.

The Huanghua Depression is located in the north-centre of Bohai Bay Basin, which is a rift basin developed in the Mesozoic over the basement of the Huabei Platform, China. Permo-Carboniferous source rocks were formed in the Huanghua Depression, which has experienced multiple complicated tectonic alterations with inhomogeneous uplift, deformation, buried depth and magma effect. As a result, the hydrocarbon generation evolution of Permo-Carboniferous source rocks was characterized by discontinuity and grading. On the basis of a detailed study on tectonic-burial history, the paper worked on the burial history, heating history and hydrocarbon generation history of Permo-Carboniferous source rocks in the Huanghua Depression combined with apatite fission track testing and fluid inclusion analyses using the EASY% Ro numerical simulation. The results revealed that their maturity evolved in stages with multiple hydrocarbon generations. In this paper, we clarified the tectonic episode, the strength of hydrocarbon generation and the time–spatial distribution of hydrocarbon regeneration. Finally, an important conclusion was made that the hydrocarbon regeneration of Permo-Carboniferous source rocks occurred in the Late Cenozoic and the subordinate depressions were brought forward as advantage zones for the depth exploration of Permo-Carboniferous oil and gas in the middle-northern part of the Huanghua Depression, Bohai Bay Basin, China.

The article discusses the geological structure, oil‐and‐gas‐bearing capacities and salt tectogenesis of the Anabar‐Khatanga saddle located on the Laptev Sea shore. In the study area, the platform sediments are represented by the 14‐45 km thick Neoproterozoic‐Mesozoic sedimentary complexes. The regional cross‐sections show the early and middle Devonian salt‐bearing strata and associated salt domes in the sedimentary cover, which may be indicative of potential hydrocarbon‐containing structures. Diapirs reaching the ground surface can be associated with structures capable of trapping hydrocarbons, and typical anticline structures can occur above the domes buried beneath the sediments. In our study, we used the algorithms and software packages developed by A.A. Trofimuk Institute of Petroleum Geology and Geophysics (IPGG SB RAS). Taking into account the structural geological features of the study area, we conducted numerical simulation of the formation of salt dome structures. According to the numerical models, contrasting domes that reached the ground surface began to form in the early Permian and developed most intensely in the Mesozoic, and the buried diapirs developed mainly in the late Cretaceous and Cenozoic.

Background. In terms of oil and gas, the territory of the Chezhen depression has been studied insufficiently compared to the neighbouring same-range depressions. These depressions complicate the first-order Jiyang depression, geographically coinciding with the largest Shengli hydrocarbon field. In recent years, much geological and geophysical information about the oil geologyof the Chezhen depression has been accumulated, which allows its prospecting oil and gas potential to be assessed.Aim. To reveal regular features of the geological structure and location of oil deposits in the Chezhen depression in order to support the prospecting and exploration work within the Chezhen block of the Shengli field.Materials and methods. A comprehensive analysis of literature data and collected materials was conducted. A historical and geodynamic study of the evolution of the studied area according to literature data was carried out, along with an analysis of the most recent geological and geophysical information and exploration data based on the materials of the “Shengli AKOO Sinopek” oil company. The analysis was based on the data from 52 drilling wells and the results of seismic surveys performed in the central part of the Chezhen depression.Results. Specific features of the block geological structure of the area under study were established, which formed under the repeated influence of large-scale horizontal tectonic movements occurring at different periods of geological history. The role of the most recent fault system in the modern spatial distribution of oil deposits was determined.Conclusions. Our studies demonstrate a great prospecting potential of the Chezhen depression territory, where the discovery of new industrial oil deposits can be expected.

This work reflects the geological structure, history of development and ore content of the Zirabulak-Ziaetda and Kuldzhuktau ore-bearing complexes. The types of placement of structures are considered: focal-zonal, belt, nodal and frame-nodal. In the Zeravshan-Alai metallogenic belt, regularities have been established for the distribution of endogenous mineralization of ore regions and provinces. A metallogenic map was compiled using GIS technology using statistical analyzes to identify promising areas

The article discusses the history of the geological study of the Aldan-Maya oil and gas region, during which numerous signs of oil and gas potential were identified. The description of oil and gas bearing complexes of sedimentary strata is given. It is shown that the prospects for the discovery of new oil and gas fields in the Aldan-Maya oil and gas bearing area were assessed quite high.

Purpose of the work: elucidation of the geological structure, manifestations of magmatism, geodynamics and metallogeny of one of the largest segments of the paleocontinental sector of the Lyapin megablock in the Urals. The peculiarity of the metallogenic specialization of the latter for uranium, thorium, rare metals, gold, optical quartz caused both increased interest and contradictory ideas about its geology, composition of rock complexes, their age and genesis. Methodology of the work: generalization, analysis and synthesis of materials from long-term studies of the geology and metallogeny of the region, including experimental, methodological, thematic and geological survey work (GDP-200/2 sheets P-40-VI, P-40-XII) with the involvement of extensive literary sources. Results. For the first time, on the basis of the created formation map and the developed author’s legend of the territory, the geological structure is shown, the geological structure, geodynamic conditions of formation, metallogenic features of uneven-aged rock associations are shown. The Lyapinsky megablock, which corresponds to the Lyapinsky mineragenic zone, is a component of the West Ural megazone of the Ural Mineragenic Province, including the Mankhambovsky, Malopatoksky, Nyartinsky and Sаledsky ore nodes. In their history of development, four metallogenic epochs are distinguished: the Pre-Riphean, Riphean-Cambrian, Paleozoic and MesozoicCenozoic, specialized in noble, rare, radioactive, and non-ferrous metals, the largest objects of which include the Yasnoye, Narodnoye, Turman, Chudnoye, Sosnovoye, Telaizskoye, Torgovskoye, Turupinskoye, Kholodnoye, Kozhimskoye, and others. Conclusions. The results obtained indicate that along with a certain ore specialization of metallogenic epochs, an important factor affecting the ore content of the territory is the activated suture zones established in the course of research, in the areas where the largest ore objects, including stratiform and porphyry deposits, are localized, as well as unconventional objects of the “structural-stratigraphic disagreement” type.
