This study presented an empirical correlation to estimate the drilling rate of penetration (ROP) while drilling into a sandstone formation. The equation developed in this study was based on the artificial neural networks (ANN) which was learned to assess the ROP from the drilling mechanical parameters. The ANN model was trained on 630 datapoints collected from five different wells; the suggested equation was then tested on 270 datapoints from the same training wells and then validated on three other wells. The results showed that, for the training data, the learned ANN model predicted the ROP with an AAPE of 7.5%. The extracted equation was tested on data gathered from the same training wells where it estimated the ROP with AAPE of 8.1%. The equation was then validated on three wells, and it determined the ROP with AAPEs of 9.0%, 10.7%, and 8.9% in Well-A, Well-B, and Well-D, respectively. Compared with the available empirical equations, the equation developed in this study was most accurate in estimating the ROP.

According to the oil and geological zoning, the water area of the Kara Sea, including the Ob and Taz Bays, is located on the border of three oil and gas-bearing regions: Yamal, Gydan and Nadym-Purskaya, having different characteristics of oil and gas potential by section and by area. As a result of geological exploration carried out in the water area and on the adjacent land, a wide age range of oil and gas potential was revealed. Seven fields have been discovered in the waters of the Yuzhno-Kara NGO: six gas condensate fields in Cretaceous Cenomanian-Albian deposits and one oil and gas condensate field in Cretaceous and Jurassic deposits. Large gas condensate fields have been explored in the Ob and Taz bays in the Cenomanian-Alb-Apt complex. The water area of the lips is one of the most important areas in terms of the growth of economically viable natural gas resources. According to the research results, it has been established that the UV potential of the Jurassic and Lower Cretaceous complexes of the Ob and Taz Bays is characterized as highly promising. Keywords: Kara Sea; shelf; cretaceous and jurassic deposits.

This research report discusses the dynamic behaviors of an axial-groove gas bearings-rotor system with rod-fastened structure. The time-based dependency-compressible Reynolds equation in the gas bearing nonlinear system is solved by the differential transformation method, and the continuous gas film forces of a three-axial-groove gas bearing are obtained. A dynamic mathematical model of the rotor system with rod-fastened structure supported in two- and three-axial-groove gas bearings with eight degrees of freedom is established. The dynamic motion equation of the rod-fastened rotor system is solved by the modified Newmark-β method based on disturbance compensation, which can reduce the computing error and improve computing stability. The dynamic characteristics of the rod-fastened rotor-gas bearing system are analyzed efficiently by the diversiform unbalance responses. The influence of the position angle of the pad on the nonlinear characteristics of the rod-fastened rotor system is also studied.

As the title implies, the article consider issues of low-pressure gas development of the Aptian-Cenomanian gas-bearing complex, which is located in Western Siberia. An algorithm for substantiating the well completion technology has been proposed as a result of the conducted scientific research. The algorithm takes into account the likelihood of occurrence and development of complications that affect the achievement of the expected flow rate. The likelihood of these complications is significantly low compared to other scenarios; however, the consequences of the accidents under consideration have the greatest negative impact on well completion in terms of achieving the potential productivity of the well. The author proposes to assess the effectiveness of the planned work on two indicators, which will allow us to determine the degree of risk of incompleteness of the event in the planned technological operation and to assess the quality of implementation of the planned technology.
