This research study critically analyzes the scope and contribution of Bloom’s Taxonomy in both assessment and teaching-learning process. Bloom’s Taxonomy consists of six stages, namely;remembering, understanding, applying, analyzing, evaluating and creating and moves from lower degree to the higher degree. The study applies Bloom’s Taxonomy to the prevailing assessment system at the level of secondary education in Sindh. The data are collected from the last five years’ question papers used by the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE), Karachi, Hyderabad Sukkur at secondary level for the subject of English. The questions asked in these papers are classified and analyzed from the vintage point of Bloom’s Taxonomy to determine whether the present assessment system focuses on the lower degrees of learning like remembering, understanding, applying or it transcends to the higher degrees such as analyzing, evaluating and creating. The data are quantitative hence SPSS. 20 is used to analyze and draw conclusions and results. The findings of this study will help to improve both assessment and teaching-learning process, which will hopefully uplift the learner from the sheer practices of description, rote-learning and memorization to the profound level of analysis, evaluation and creativity.

Practical-orientated form of organization of teaching-learning process is one of the modern educational trends for all levels and all directions of education. It is obvious, by this, that such teaching-learning process must have different content and different forms of implementation on various levels and directions of education. The fact is bound up both with the general purpose of education in every separate direction and with age and psychological peculiarities of those who are going through the educational process. The authors consider practical-orientated training on the level of higher education a training directed onto the deliberate application of its results during the subsequent stages of training and during the subsequent professional activities. The authors’ concept of the essence of practical-orientated teaching-learning process for future teachers of mathematics at institutions of higher education is represented in the paper. The concept has been created on the base of analyzing the possible directions of organization of practical-orientated teaching-learning process in mathematics for secondary education institutions students. At the present situation the authors suggest to redistribute credits and training material between subjects of higher mathematics and subjects of elementary mathematics and methods of teaching mathematics at general secondary education institutions in the way that eliminates the incontestable duplication in training material existing at present. By the authors’ opinion, the proposed redistribution will create the necessary pre-conditions for organizing the integrity system of practical-orientated training at the corresponding direction of higher education and will essentially improve the quality of the process of training as a whole. For the suggested concept the possible ways of its implementation to the real teaching-learning process are introduced. For the future teachers of mathematics at institutions of general secondary education it is advisable to begin the process of working out the corresponding experimental Educational Professional Program of training with the purpose of its subsequent approbation in the educational process.

Nowadays, the digital competence is becoming as important as literacy and numeracy skills. For children and youths these competences seem to be natural and the role of teacher is to direct students in their learning and to develop cognitive curiosity. For adults, the learning process is different. It is not only developing of digital skills but sometimes even grassroots teaching. The article presents a two different approaches to teaching/learning process provided in the field of secondary education - Finnish and Polish systems. Documents containing curricula, school programmes and course grids were analysed. Both systems have been assessed in terms of their relevance to adult learners. The main discoveries and the key conclusions indicate that the Polish system does not adapt to the real needs of adult learners and the changing needs of the labour market.

Textbooks play a significant role in the teaching-learning process as a result of didactic transposition, and as a vehicle employed for institutional learning. This descriptive study is devoted to conducting a thematic didactic analysis of textbooks of physics and chemistry of the common core of science and technology of secondary education in Morocco on the subject of atom. This paper focuses on contributing to the treatment of one of the problems that deals with the didactic transposition of the scientific concepts related to the "atom", in order to detect the different problems that can hinder their teachinglearning process. At the methodological level, we used a specific prior grid applied to the same theme. This allowed us to draw a hypothesis on the possible effect of the didactic presentation of concepts related to the atom in understanding the students. It also aim to propose recommendations to remedy the imbalances observed; such as: the dissymmetry between textual and figurative aspects, the absence of analogy, the problem of modeling, and the upgrading between objectives, contents, and proposed activities, etc.
