Gamification is the use of game design elements to enhance the teaching-learning process and turn a regular, non-game activity into a fun, engaging game. Simultaneously, serious games are proposed as an efficient and enjoyable way of conducting cognitive assessment, as they combine a serious intention with game rules and targets. In this scenario, game engines have emerged as information technologies for serious games and educational games development; however, this development has usually been performed without a guide to identifying game attributes to be present in the game. To address this gap, we present an analysis of the most used game engines to identify game and learning attributes supported for serious and educational games development. Findings from this analysis provide a guide of the most popular game engines that offer the largest support for game attributes, which were also classified by game categories.

The objective of this study is to reveal the different perceptions, practices and problems related to speaking skills in Moroccan secondary education in general. The sample of the study consisted of students coming from different schools in the academy of Rabat-Salè-Zemmour-Zaer area. The results revealed a discrepancy between classroom activities, textbooks activities and the objectives of the guidelines set for the teaching of speaking in Moroccan high schools. The results also showed that the thematic importance, thematic variety and the preference of listening-focused textbooks including listening to songs are found to be what students perceive to be their most significant inclinations. The study concluded with a number of pedagogical implications for the teaching/learning process.

<p>This research study critically analyzes the scope and contribution of Bloom’s Taxonomy in both assessment and teaching-learning process. Bloom’s Taxonomy consists of six stages, namely;remembering, understanding, applying, analyzing, evaluating and creating and moves from lower degree to the higher degree. The study applies Bloom’s Taxonomy to the prevailing assessment system at the level of secondary education in Sindh. The data are collected from the last five years’ question papers used by the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE), Karachi, Hyderabad Sukkur at secondary level for the subject of English. The questions asked in these papers are classified and analyzed from the vintage point of Bloom’s Taxonomy to determine whether the present assessment system focuses on the lower degrees of learning like remembering, understanding, applying or it transcends to the higher degrees such as analyzing, evaluating and creating. The data are quantitative hence SPSS. 20 is used to analyze and draw conclusions and results. The findings of this study will help to improve both assessment and teaching-learning process, which will hopefully uplift the learner from the sheer practices of description, rote-learning and memorization to the profound level of analysis, evaluation and creativity.</p>

Practical-orientated form of organization of teaching-learning process is one of the modern educational trends for all levels and all directions of education. It is obvious, by this, that such teaching-learning process must have different content and different forms of implementation on various levels and directions of education. The fact is bound up both with the general purpose of education in every separate direction and with age and psychological peculiarities of those who are going through the educational process. The authors consider practical-orientated training on the level of higher education a training directed onto the deliberate application of its results during the subsequent stages of training and during the subsequent professional activities. The authors’ concept of the essence of practical-orientated teaching-learning process for future teachers of mathematics at institutions of higher education is represented in the paper. The concept has been created on the base of analyzing the possible directions of organization of practical-orientated teaching-learning process in mathematics for secondary education institutions students. At the present situation the authors suggest to redistribute credits and training material between subjects of higher mathematics and subjects of elementary mathematics and methods of teaching mathematics at general secondary education institutions in the way that eliminates the incontestable duplication in training material existing at present. By the authors’ opinion, the proposed redistribution will create the necessary pre-conditions for organizing the integrity system of practical-orientated training at the corresponding direction of higher education and will essentially improve the quality of the process of training as a whole. For the suggested concept the possible ways of its implementation to the real teaching-learning process are introduced. For the future teachers of mathematics at institutions of general secondary education it is advisable to begin the process of working out the corresponding experimental Educational Professional Program of training with the purpose of its subsequent approbation in the educational process.

Abstract: Keeping the student focused for long periods of time has been a challenge for teachers. The adoption of new teaching strategies in which students leave the position of listeners and share with the master the active position is already known and even adopted. These strategies give students the opportunity to have more interactive experiences, stimulate independent thinking, create discussions within the group thus contribute to the improvement of the teaching- learning process. In that sense, the use of educational games has been an alternative, as they can mitigate the difficulty that students have in making the parallel between the concepts theorists learned from situations of application of this knowledge. Monitor the growth of the literature and research patterns in a given thematic area is an important step to understand the development of this domain. Therefore, the bibliometrics has been an emerging area, as it aims to describe, evaluate and monitor research published in a given field of knowledge. In this way, it is defined as the general objective of this work to map and characterize publications on the use of games and related terms in Production Engineering from bibliometric research in the annals of the National Meeting of Production Engineering. In this research, techniques such as Citation, Bibliographic Coupling, Co-author, Co-citation and Co- word were used, from which bibliometric maps are generated with the aid of the VOSviewer software, in which, for example, the most used keywords are shown; institutions and authors who publish works in the field; the authors who are engaged bibliographically; those who work together; and those that appear simultaneously in the reference lists.

The purpose of this paper is to show the qualities, methodology and characteristics of an EFL textbook. To do this, a detailed bibliographic review was carried out that served as the foundation to obtain the vision and background necessary to face, in the most objective way and with the broadest possible vision, the main objective  —to show the qualities, methodology and characteristics of a EFL textbook— of research. The approach of the present work has been carried out in such a way that it can be easily understood not only by professors and researchers who are experts on the subject but also by the general population  —due to the importance of the involvement of families in the teaching-learning process—
