Total Quality Management is an important management process that has been used by industries in the world. The concept is used in the development and acquisition of systems such as satellite systems and aircraft to prepare officers' performance reports. In the past few years, the concept of Total Quality Management (TQM) has been applied in the world of education. Many applications have been used in terms of institutional administration, but there are also several schools that have implemented TQM in curriculum development. In this paper, the principles of TQM are outlined with an emphasis on the importance of identifying customers and analyzing the process and the implementation and development of total quality management in education.

Vietnam is classified as one of the five largest textile and garment exporters in the world. With its ambition to engage more effectively in the global textile and garment supply chains, Vietnam's textile and garment enterprises have been implementing total quality management (TQM) programs in order to improve their product and service quality. However, many of Vietnam's textile and garment enterprises are facing barriers to successful TQM implementation. The objective of this study is to empirically examine these barriers to TQM faced by Vietnam's textile and garment enterprises and to compare the results with previous studies conducted with U.S. and Mexican businesses. The results of this study indicate five barriers to Vietnam's textile and garment enterprises' successful TQM implementation. Among these five barriers, the common barrier shared by Vietnamese, US and Mexican businesses is that employees are resistant to change. Managerial implications and future research directions are discussed.

Resulting from the development of management theory in the past few years, knowledge management has emerged, which is identifying information of value and how to use it well, as well as understanding cognitive assets of an organization and how to exploit them. Knowledge management is important and necessary for the survival of an organization and its superiority. It can be integrated into the philosophy of total quality management to play a role in the development of the basis of performance of modern organizations. The total quality management philosophy seeks to achieve customer satisfaction through the commitment of the leadership of an organization and its workers by a process of continuous improvement of the quality of performance in various aspects of an organization. This chapter aims to identify the integration between knowledge management and total quality management, when applied to public Jordanian universities as a sample for the study. The chapter found the presence of integrity and a strong correlation between knowledge management and total quality management.

The importance of Total Quality Management (TQM) can not be denied in increasing business efficiency and productivity. For this reason, companies should be able to apply this philosophy professionally in all business process. It has been stated that TQM is to be a philosophy which are reduces costs and defects, provides customer satisfaction, including workers in the decision-making processes and improves education in all business processes. However, some firms in Turkey can’t practice the TQM philosophy completely. Accordingly, it can be stated that many firms have some deficiencies to implement aims of this philosophy. The aim of this study is to explain the total quality management philosophy, its historical development process and some applications in the world and Turkey and to analyze TQM applications of Kalekim company. The results of this study show that Kalekim company implemented TQM applications successfully. Özetİşletmelerin etkinliklerinin ve verimliliklerinin artırılmasında Toplam Kalite Yönetimi (TKY)’ nin önemi yadsınamaz. Bu nedenle şirketler, bu felsefeyi tüm işletme süreçlerinde profesyonelce uygulayabilmelidir. TKY, tüm iş süreçlerinde, maliyetlerin ve hataların azaltıldığı, müşteri memnuniyetinin sağlandığı, işçilerin karar alma süreçlerine dahil edildiği, eğitimin artırıldığı bir felsefe olarak ifade edilmektedir. Ancak, Türkiye’deki bazı firmalar TKY felsefesini tam olarak uygulayamamaktadırlar. Dolayısıyla birçok firmanın bu felsefedeki amaçlarını gerçekleştirmede bazı eksiklileri olduğu söylenebilir. Bu çalışmanın amacı, TKY’nin felsefesini, tarihsel gelişimini, dünya ve Türkiye’deki bazı uygulamalarını belirtmek ve Kalekim firmasının TKY uygulamalarını analiz etmektir. Çalışma sonucunda, Kalekim firmasının TKY uygulamalarını başarı ile gerçekleştirdiği görülmüştür.

Entering the past decade, the issue of quality has always been the talk of the actual, especially in the context of education management. Recognized or not, the quality of Islamic education institutions are still largely under the quality of education in general. Various attempts have been made and many of the concepts that have been applied, but everything seemed not bring significant improvement. "Total Quality Management (TQM) or Integrated Quality Management (MMT) as an effort to improve the quality of education in Islamic educational institutions. Although at first the concept of MMT is only known in the industry, but the amazing success invite the interest of education experts, 3 to study it more deeply, formulate operational patterns of adoption, and to create a model in teknical to apply. This research was conducted in SMP Muhammadiyah I Depok Sleman Yogyakarta. Consideration is SMP Muhammadiyah I Gurgaon is one of the Islamic educational institutions (schools distinctively Islamic) 5 formal mission has always been to apply concepts of Quality Management (TQM). This study resulted in that SMP Muhammadiyah I Depok already implementing Total Quality Management in the management of education. However, the application of Total Quality Management in SMP Muhammadiyah I Depok can be said is not fully maximized, in the sense that there are still some things that need to be evaluated together.

This research was conducted to obtain a description that the Life Skill-Based Academic Service which is formulated based on the results of the evaluation can improve students’ life skills of Higher Education Department of Dental Nursing Polytechnic of health-ministry, Ministry of Health, Tasikmalaya and Bandung. The profile of academic service quality for Dental Nursing at Polytechnic of health-ministry, Ministry of Health, Tasikmalaya and Bandung, has not fully focused on improving life skills more thoroughly including life skills for the business world. Improvement and development of life skills through a number of learning activities, work practices and graduates who are ready to compete in the world of work. Leadership policy in implementing life skill-based academic service quality, oriented to the world of work. The formulation of policies for quality assurance is an elaboration of the vision and mission in order to produce graduates who are competent in the world of work. There is no policy evaluation specifically related to life skills. Evaluation is carried out on the output in the form of graduate and student user satisfaction with the service system. The Total Quality Management (TQM) system for service quality / academic life skill-based management has not been fully supported by the 10 main elements of TQM, especially the scientific approach. Planning focuses on main customers with internal customer support. Quality improvement is carried out by involving quality assurance units, structural and staff as team work. The improvement of the TQM system focuses on providing educational services oriented to the world of work.
