Modern security studies, facing new challenges, should have a curriculum that provides graduates with the knowledge and skills on the basis of which they can excel in their professional activities. Anyone who influences and/or prepares the security education curriculum should be aware of the true needs of students, so they can apply the acquired knowledge in practice. First of all, the curriculum creators should put themselves in the position of professionals and, in the content of the curriculum, provide answers as to which courses and knowledge would be most useful in the case of major security crises such as wars, various intensity conflicts and massive rebellions, particularly those that have an inner or extra ethnic component or an inner national dimension in a pan-national joint political movement, such as the so-called Arab Spring. The latter encompasses the area of security, discourse in the international humanitarian law, particularly the Law of Armed Conflict and Rules of Engagement, but also the extremely delicate matters of religion, belief, faith, language (separately and all together in a wider sociological context), and above all, the Arab Spring as a social and security phenomenon presenting a unique sample for security studies both at the global and regional level due to the geopolitical trends in past two decades.

Abstract: This study aims to look at narrative patterns in the collection of short stories "Karaban Snow Dance" (TSK). From the fifteen short stories, the researchers took five main stories, namely the Karaban Snow Dance (Tarian Salju Karaban), The Fall of a Leaf (Gugurnya Sehelai Daun),  Canting Kinanti Song (Tembang Canting Kinanti), Jagoan Men Arrived (Lelaki Jagoan Tiba), and Origami Pigeon (Merpati Origami). Of the five short stories, environmental themes and honesty appear most often. The place setting depicted shows the environment that is close to the author or according to the author's origin. The main characters in the four short stories are children, only one short story Male Hero Tiban (Lelaki Jagoan Tiban/LJK) who uses adult takoh as the main character. The child leaders in LJK only appear in the past stories of the main characters. The five short stories do not show a picture of whole parents (father and mother). The warm relationship between mother and child appears clearly, in contrast to the father-child relationship that is almost negligent. The five short stories also represent how children become heroes for their family, friends, and environment.

Since late 2010 and early 2011, the Arab region has witnessed mass protests in Tunisia, Egypt, Libya, Syria, Yemen, Iraq, Bahrain and other countries that have been referred to in the political, media and other literature as the Arab Spring. These movements have had a profound effect on the stability of the regimes Which took place against it, as leaders took off and contributed to radical reforms in party structures and public freedoms and the transfer of power, but it also contributed to the occurrence of many countries in an internal spiral, which led to the erosion of the state from the inside until it became a prominent feature of the Arab) as is the case in Syria, Libya, Yemen and Iraq.
