This article characterizes and analyzes the development and construction of virtual communities of Anglo and Spanish migrants living in Chile. We selected some of the most popular and active sites among them and analyzed hem using virtual ethnography methods and discourse analysis in its textual and contextual dimension, as well engaging with the discourses of its creators. The socialization process that occurs in these communities is oriented towards sharing experiences and accomplishing objectives in common among the members, like meeting other migrants and locals, learning a language and obtaining useful information about the country of current or future residence, among others. The bloggers and web admins interviewed build transnational social spaces through their use of new digital media. We found a clear connection between the communities analyzed and the political, economic and social reality of the nation-states—of origin and destination—in which they are rooted.

Abstract. The causal attribution of the result of a school's performance affects their performance and construction of their identity. The educational environment of school football exacerbates the micro-social impact of the result, due to its competitive inherence. The study aims to understand the educational implications of the competitive result and its justifying attributions. A multiple case study of ethnographic modality is applied in which, through participant observation, the formative processes of eight under seven football teams are investigated. The 178 observation sessions are contrasted with the qualitative data in the image and the virtual ethnography. The emerging results show that the competitive result is the cornerstone of the formative evaluations, which classify the performance of teams and individual differences of the players according to their aptitudes. The causal attributions tend to externalize the responsibility of the scholar in an arbitrary way and to sublimate their capacities in the success. The study reflects on the need to continue to sensitize the adult environment about the school implications of causal attributions, which affect the construction of self-concept and its educational performance. In addition, there is a need to harmonize the competition models that link the learning of schoolchildren with results.

Over past few decades, research on authentic materials has been focused on helping teachers provide their learners teaching materials. Most of the researches in this area explore the benefits and drawbacks of authentic materials utilization in the classroom. This multiple case study aims at investigating benefits of and barriers in using authentic materials presented as a digital media used in their EFL classrooms. Document and an interview were employed to reveal the teachers perception. The findings indicate although it was considered difficult to find and organize, digitized authentic materials helped teachers in teaching English as a Foreign Language for learners with various levels and backgrounds. Its use could help teachers motivate and promote their students interest in learning. However, disselection and misuse of it might not meet students needs and interest in learning. Good teachers capacity in finding and using the digitized authentic materials could encourage better learning process and students better learning achievement. Therefore, it is recommended that for the further study, learners perception also need to be explored.

Martin Geiger & Antoine Pécoud (eds.), Disciplining the Transnational Mobility of People, Palgrave Macmillan, 2013, 271 pp., (ISBN 978-1-137-26306-3).In the last decades a very diverse range of initiatives have been undertaken in order to intensify and diversify the ways human mobility is managed and restricted. This trend towards a ‘diversification’ of the migration control strategies stems from the increased awareness by the nation-states of the profoundly controversial nature of the migration management enterprise because of its political, economic, social and moral implications.

The purpose of this study was to determine what type of marketing communication objectives are present in the digital content marketing developed by luxury auto brands with social media presence in Puerto Rico, particularly Facebook. A longitudinal multiple-case study design was used to analyze five luxury auto brands using content analysis on Facebook posts. This analysis included identification of marketing communication objectives through social media content marketing strategies, type of media content and social media metrics. Our results showed that the most used objectives are brand awareness, brand personality, and brand salience. Another significant result is that digital content marketing used by brands in social media are focused towards becoming more visible and recognized; also, reflecting human-like traits and attitudes in their social media.
