Abstract AMPCOLOY 62 is a cast copper-base alloy known as low-tensile manganese bronze. Despite the fact that it is at the low-strength end of the manganese bronzes, it has a tensile strength about 20,000 psi greater than that of the corresponding copper-zinc alloys; therefore, it is often classified as a high-strength yellow brass. It has an excellent combination of strength and ductility, and good resistance to corrosion. Among its applications are marine hardware, propellers and gears. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, elasticity, tensile properties, and compressive strength as well as fracture toughness, creep, and fatigue. It also includes information on corrosion resistance as well as casting, heat treating, machining, and joining. Filing Code: Cu-369. Producer or source: Ampco Metal Inc..
