Renal lymphangiectasia (RLM) is a rare condition characterized by dilatation of perirenal, parapelvic or intrarenal lymphatics. We report an unusual case of bilateral RLM in a 20-year-old Malay male who presented with 1 month duration of bilateral flank pain. Bedside ultrasound showed bilateral perinephric collections, which were further confirmed on computer tomography intravenous pyelogram (CT IVP). Other causes of perinephric collections were ruled out based on laboratory and radiological findings, and he was managed conservatively as for RLM with surveillance ultrasound kidneys at 3 to 6 monthly intervals.

Esophageal diverticulum with secondary bronchoesophageal fistula is a rare clinical entity that manifests as respiratory infections, coughing during eating or drinking, hemoptysis, and sometimes fatal complications. In the present study, we describe a case of bronchoesophageal fistula emanating from esophageal diverticulum in a 45-year-old man who presented with bronchiectasis. We summarize the characteristics of this rare condition based on a review of the relevant literature.

The gallbladder volvulus is a rare condition. There have been around 500 cases described worldwide. It is virtually impossible to diagnose it clinically as symptoms are analogous to those of acute cholecystitis. Small proportion of gallbladder volvulus cases get accurately diagnosed preoperatively according to available literature. The imaging such as computer tomography plays a crucial role in diagnosing this condition. Laparoscopic cholecystectomy is considered to be a gold standard treatment for this condition. Gastrointestinal stromal tumours (GISTs) are mesenchymal tumours of the digestive tract, derived from Cajal interstitial cells. Bone metastases are very rare, and there is no consensus regarding their treatment. Here, we present the unusual case of a 66-year-old man with a gastric GIST with synchronous bone and liver metastases, fully documented at the pathological and molecular levels with a KIT exon 11 mutation. After 9 months of imatinib, the scanner showed a 33% partial response of target lesions. We also review the literature and describe the characteristics, treatment, and outcome of all cases previously reported.

Sphenoid Wing Meningioma

Sphenoid wing meningiomas are tumors that typically present with vision deterioration and neurological changes due to their proximity to the sella, cavernous sinus, and other vital structures. Some unusual symptoms have also been described in the literature, such as cognitive dysfunction, parkinsonism, and intracerebral hemorrhage. In this report, we detail another unusual case of sphenoid wing meningioma in a 63-year-old female who presented with left sudden sensorineural hearing loss. A brief review of the literature is also included.
