In the present work creeping three-dimensional flows of a viscous liquid in a cylindrical tube and a channel of variable cross-section are studied. A qualitative triangulation of the surface of a cylindrical tube, a smoothed and experimental channel of a variable cross section is constructed. The problem is solved numerically using boundary element method in several modifications for a periodic and non-periodic flows. The obtained numerical results are compared with the analytical solution for the Poiseuille flow.

In the present work the three-dimensional flow of a viscous liquid described by Stokes equations is studied in a cylindrical tube and a channel of variable cross-section. A qualitative triangulation of the surface of a channel variable cross-section is constructed. The problem is solved numerically using the boundary element method in two modifications. A comparison of the method modifications for a channel of different radius of a neck, as well as for the Poiseuille flow with an analytical solution. It is found out the critical radius of the channel neck at which the vortices arise.

The corrosion of structures is needed to be identified early to prevent any severe damage of buildings. The conventional technique such as potential mapping for diagnosing of reinforced concrete corrosion has been used widely in the field. However, the method has limitation such as less accuracy, laborious and time-consuming. This study is conducted to develop boundary element method 3 dimensions by considering polarization curves of anode and cathode for corrosion simulation and analyzed the influences of anode profiles for RC corrosion simulation. In this method, the potential in concrete domain was modeled by Laplace’s equation. The anode and cathode areas were represented by each polarization curves. The numerical simulation result shows that the boundary element method 3 dimensions successfully solved the Laplace’s equation in order to simulate corrosion phenomenon of reinforced concrete. The influences of anode profiles for RC corrosion simulation have been analyzed. Further works are needed to reduce the computational effort of corrosion simulation.

The article discusses principles calculating resistance of a reinforced concrete column to fire. The paper provides column calculation models, the main characteristics of materials and characteristic stress set points applying finite element program SolidWorks. A comparative analysis of stresses in the cross-section of the reinforced concrete column and the reinforced concrete column strengthened with a metallic shell is made. Santrauka Analizuojami gelžbetoninės kolonos atsparumo ugniai skaičiavimo principai. Pateikiami baigtinių elementų programa SolidWorks sudaryti kolonų skaičiuojamieji modeliai, pagrindinės medžiagų charakteristikos ir būdingi įtempių nustatymo taškai. Atliekama gelžbetoninės ir sustiprintos metaliniu apvalkalu gelžbetoninės kolonos įtempių skerspjūvyje lyginamoji analizė.

The steel reinforced concrete column is one of the important members for structures, it is essential to study the high temperature performance of concrete column. The numerical simulation research is done using finite element software ANSYS. Under the high temperature, the analysis of the compressive bearing capacity and flexural capacity of the concrete columns strengthened by CFRP is done, and the compressive bearing capacities of different cross-section concrete columns strengthened with CFRP are tested.
