Use of social media creates positive or negative impacts on adolescents. There are a number of factors enabling adolescents to make use of social media positively. One of the factors studied in this research is the adolescent worldview. The adolescent worldview greatly determines the way she behaves and her attitude towards social media. The result of this research shows that adolescent worldview may release and enables her to reject negative impacts of social media, particularly from modern cultural -isms as relativism, individualism, emotionalism, presentism (present-time ism), materialism, autonomy, victimism, and turn it into a positive impact on herself. Worldviews may be differentiated based on three categories namely religion, spirituality and secularity. This research is conducted by explorative-qualitative approach, using case study research method. Data collection was conducted by in-depth interview with late adolescents.

Background: Supramalleolar osteotomies are increasingly popular for addressing asymmetric arthritis of the ankle joint. Still, recommendations for the indication and the use of additional procedures remain arbitrary. We preoperatively grouped different types of asymmetric arthritis into several classes and assessed the usefulness of an algorithm based on these classifications for determining the choice of supramalleolar operative procedure and the risk factors for treatment failure. Methods: Ninety-two patients (94 ankles) were followed prospectively and assessed clinically and radiographically 43 months after a supramalleolar osteotomy for asymmetric arthritis of the ankle joint. Results: Significant improvement of the clinical scores was found. Postoperative reduction of radiological signs of arthritis was observed in mid-stage arthritis. Age and gender did not affect the outcome. Ten ankles failed to respond to the treatment and were converted to total ankle replacements or fused. Conclusions: Supramalleolar osteotomies can be effective for the treatment of early and midstage asymmetric arthritis of the ankle joint. However, certain subgroups have a tendency towards a worse outcome and may require additional surgery. Therefore preoperative distinction of different subgroups is helpful for determination of additional procedures. Level of Evidence: II, Prospective Comparative Study

Online shopping is one of the most popular activities that take place on internet. It has expanded considerably in the past few years, but still not reached to its full potential. Internet has created new opportunities for organizations to effectively reach out to existing and potential customers. Web sites enable customers to conveniently search, compare and buy products and services online. Click and mortar stores use various types of online promotional tools like discounts for customer attraction and retention. Various studies have been directed towards influence of gender and age on online shopping behavior of consumers, but limited study has been carried out precisely towards online discounts. The aim of the study is to examine the influence of age and gender on factors –website characteristics and convenience- considered during purchase of online discounted products. This research study was conducted among the online shoppers, who purchase online discounted products, in four prominent districts of North India. Data collected from 311 online buyers, who purchase online products available at a discount rate, was used for the study. The data was analyzed using Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS 16.0). The factors were extracted by using exploratory factor analysis with principal axis factoring and varimax rotation. Reliability (Cronbach’s alpha) and validity were established for the scale used in the study. ANOVA was used to analyze the influence of age and gender on factors considered while purchasing online products available at a discount rate. The findings indicate that influence of males and females varies on the factors- website characteristics and convenience- considered while purchasing online products available at a discount rate, but there is no influence of different age groups. These findings can help online marketers to formulate strategies to attract the online shoppers based on age and gender

The Biała Podlaska poviat was almost at the geographical centre of the interwarperiod Second Polish Republic (1918–1939). However, its peripheral position in relation to other Districts of central voivodships resulted in a number of events and processes that were taking place at that time having a slightly different outmode in its territory. The article attempts to present selected aspects of the demographic structure to confront the extent to which the field of interest diverges from the neighbouring areas. Besides a determination of the population of the district, its structure was analysed in terms of age, gender, level of urbanization and structure of employment. Particularly valuable information was obtained through confrontation of data from the 1921 and 1931 censuses in terms of changes taking place among employment in fundamental branches of the economy. The period was also important for the urban population, which is one of the determinants of the level of modernity of society. Presentation of population growth the county and its characteristics in terms of age and gender provided information on the demographic potential of the analysed area. The analysis provided a number of interesting data sets, somewhat corroborating the varied character of the Biała Podlaska district. The information can be used for further research on the history of the district.

Social media technologies have reshaped our lives today and Zambian teachers do a massive use of smart phones, tablets, and other portable tools. In addition, they are continually searching for forefront innovations. Frequently, the utilization of these gadgets is not in manners foreseen by innovation advocates. This study focuses on exploring the use of social media platforms and the impact of such social networking services in the teaching and learning of mathematics by pre-service teachers. To explore pre-service teachers’ use of social media in their teaching and learning experiences, the authors administered an adapted and validated research instrument via a quantitative survey system to a sample of 102 pre-service teachers from the Copperbelt University. Analysis of variance and multiple regression analysis were used to test the interplay of relationships between pre-service teachers’ attitudes towards the use of social media based on year of study and gender, social media use and classroom integration, social media use, and mathematics pedagogy. Further, a statistical test was run to show whether positive correlations existed or not. Results disclosed that respondents showed an average use of social media tools in mathematics and provide a prediction model for pre-service teachers’ future integration of social media in the teaching and learning of mathematics.

School age children (pedestrians) can move at different speeds, which are conditioned by certain parameters. Not all parameters have the same effect on the pedestrian speed. According to the literature, gender and age are the most researched parameters that have an impact on the speed of pedestrians. However, a small number of authors have dealt with the influence of movement regimes (slow, normal, fast, run, and rush) on pedestrian speed, while at the same time taking into account age and gender. For that reason, this article measured the speed of movement of school age children by movement regimes, taking into account age and gender. Within the same movement regime, the influence of age, sex, height, and weight on the speed of movement was investigated. Experimental measurements of the speed of movement of pedestrians aged 7 to 20 years were performed. Based on the results of measurements and statistical analyzes, recommendations on the average speed of movement regimes, age, and gender are given.
