ABSTRAKPuskesmas dituntut memberikan pelayanan berkualitas guna memberikan kepuasan pada pasien. Berdasarkan kotak saran Puskesmas Kenali Besar Kota Jambi menunjukkan bahwa petugas administrasi lambat dalam memberikan pelayanan, pelayanan kurang memuaskan, pelayanan lama. Untuk itu perlu adanya pengukuran kepuasan pasien. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif kuantitatif dengan desain cross sectional, yang dilakukan pada tanggal 3 s/d 8 Februari. Sampel penelitian adalah sebanyak 169 pasien. Pengambilan sampel secara accidental sampling. Analisis data menggunakan Importance Performance Analysis (IPA). Metode pengumpulan data dengan wawancara menggunakan kuesioner. Hasil penelitian diperoleh tingkat kesesuaian antara harapan dan kenyataan pada dimensi reliability (87,13%), responsiveness (88,59%), assurance (91,16%), emphaty (99,54%) dan tangible (88,34%). Saran yang dapat diberikan antara lain optimalisasi kebijakan SOP, merumuskan komitmen bersama bagi pegawai puskesmas, membuat papan informasi keberadaan petugas, memberikan on the job training, menempelkan stiker budaya antri, mengusulkan alat kesehatan serta menambah kursi dan kipas angin.Kata Kunci : Kepuasan Pasien, Kualitas Pelayanan

This study investigated the relationship between training and development and productivity of workers of Nigeria Agip Oil Company, Port Harcourt. A review of relevant literature revealed that intellectual response to the issue focused on the relationship between training and productivity in other work organizations and also excludes managerial development. They also failed to specify the method of training, and omitted the development of managers in connection to workers’ productivity. This enabled the researchers to identify the gap in knowledge on this area of research, taking cognizance of the various training and development methods, such as on-the-job, off-the-job trainings and development of managers. In the bid to investigate the relationship between the variables, four research questions and four hypotheses were posed to guide the study. Human capital theory was utilized in the clarification and explanation of the causal connection between the study variables. Simple random and random samplings were adopted. The sample size of 316 was determined with the aid of Taro Yamane Statistics, from the population figure of 1500. The study adopted cross-sectional research design and generated data through survey. Data were generated through the questionnaire and analysed using percentage, while chi-square (X2) statistics was applied to test the hypotheses. The study concluded that there is significant relationship between on-the-job training, off-the-job training, development of managers and productivity of Nigeria Agip Oil Company, Port Harcourt respectively. It also found significant relationship between training and development of workers and inducement by the acquired knowledge and skills to look for better jobs in other organizations. The study thus recommended regular on-the-job training, regular off-the-job training and development of managers, amongst others. The study thus established that training and development significantly cause workers’ productivity in Nigeria Agip Oil Company in Port Harcourt.

Purpose- This study investigates the relationship between employee training and succession planning in deposit money banks in Abia State using cross-sectional survey. Ten deposit money banks were surveyed using simple random sampling technique.  Design/Methodology- A total population of one hundred and twenty staff was investigated with a sample size of ninety two. Validity of instrument was determined using face validity while Cronbach Alpha was used to ascertain the reliability of the instrument. Spearman’s Rank Order Correlation Coefficient (rho) was used to analyze the hypotheses with the aid of statistical package for social sciences (20.0).  Findings- The study found that employee training has a positive significant relationship with succession planning. It concluded that employee training measured in terms of on-the-job training and mentoring promotes succession planning in deposit money banks.  Practical Implications- The study recommends that managers, human resource professionals as well as directors of financial institutions should employ on-the-job training and mentoring for effective succession planning in the workplace.

Dr. Edwards Deming, whose 120th birthday falls on October 14, 2020, has made outstanding contributions to management theory and practice, mathematical statistics and many other areas of human endeavor. This work, written for the anniversary of E. Deming, examines the paradoxes arising from his teachings. They relate, inter alia, to competition, motivation and remuneration, the use of sampling methods, on-the-job training, operational definitions and much more. Resolving these paradoxes is the path to a deeper understanding of the modern world and to the improvement of management practice. Already during Deming’s lifetime, numerous attempts were made to revise his teachings, and now there is a desire to abandon the use and development of his heritage. This is alarming and worrying.
