THE FORMATION OF THE ENVIRONMENTALLY DIRECTED THINKING AS THE NECESSARY QUALITY OF PERSONALITY IN MODERN CONDITIONS

It has been developed a conceptual model of environmentally directed thinking and its relationship with environmental protection on the basis of competence approach. It have been developed the principles of formation of the environmentally directed thinking in the structure of environmental competence. There were proposed stages of teacher’s activity by the gradual transition from mental activity of students with a reproductive level to the level of creative environmental activities. The technology of problem-based learning based on interdisciplinary links was highlighted. A new look was justified at the environmentally directed thinking as an essential quality of the personality of modern man and the backbone factor of education of intelligence and civilization, ecological attitude to nature. This writing aims to help teachers to increase motivation, activity, creativity, and critical thinking of students in solving problems in class. The way to increase student motivation in learning in class is to choose the right learning model with ongoing learning material. One learning model that increases students' creativity and critical thinking in problem solving is a Problem Based Learning (PBL) learning model. To improve students' insights in order to easily solve problems there is a need to do tasks, if students do not do the task then they must accept the agreed upon consequences when making learning contracts, thus modifying the Problem Based Learning (PBL) learning model with task strategies and forced. The results of the modification of learning with the Problem Based Learning (PBL) learning model through forced and forced strategies are expected to improve the learning process so that students become more disciplined and do not waste time doing assignments. The advantages of modifying the Problem Based Learning (PBL) learning model with task and forced learning strategies are increasing student learning motivation, improving the quality of learning, training students' understanding by giving assignments continuously, teaching discipline to students in order to be accountable for tasks assigned, and reducing laziness in students.

This experimental study aimed at investigating the effect of Problem Based Learning (PBL) and self-assessment (SA) on students’ writing competency and self-regulated learning in Tabanan Regency. This research applied 2x2 factorial design. 96 students were selected as sample through random sampling. Data were collected by test (writing competency) and questionnaire (self-regulation). Students’ writings were scored by analytical scoring rubric. The obtained data were analyzed statistically by MANOVA at 5% significance level. This research discovers: 1) there is a significant effect of PBL which occurs simultaneously and separately on students’ writing competency and self-regulated learning, 2) there is a significant effect of SA which ocurs simultaneously and separately on students’ writing competency and self-regulated learning, 3) there is a significant interaction between teaching model and assessment type on students’ writing competency and self-regulated learning which occurs simultaneously, 4) there is no significant interaction between teaching model and assessment type on students’ writing competency, and 5) there is a significant interaction between teaching model and assessment type on students’ self-regulated learning. This research results implies that PBL and SA should be applied in instruction process as a way to improve the quality of students’ writing competency and self-regulated learning.

IntroductionPsoriatic arthritis (PsA) is a heterogeneous chronic inflammatory musculoskeletal disorder that manifests as peripheral arthritis, dactylitis, enthesitis and spondylitis. PsA results in significant burden that impacts quality of life of patients. We examined the signs, symptoms and impacts reported by patients with PsA, to characterise the patient experience of PsA and develop a conceptual model representing this patient experience.MethodsSemi-structured interviews were conducted with patients with PsA recruited through the FORWARD databank. Spontaneous and probed signs, symptoms and impacts of PsA were assessed. Patients rated the disturbance of these concepts on their lives using a scale from 0 (‘does not disturb’) to 10 (‘greatly disturbs’). Signs, symptoms and impacts reported by >80% of patients with a disturbance rating of ≥5 were defined as salient concepts. Recruitment continued until concept saturation was achieved.Results19 patients with PsA were interviewed. The interviews elicited 42 symptoms of which 8 had not been identified in a previous literature review encompassing 15 relevant articles. The most salient signs and symptoms elicited in the interviews were joint pain, skin symptoms, stiffness, swollen/inflamed joints and fatigue all with moderate to high disturbance ratings (range: 5.5–7.8). The most salient impacts were sleep disturbance, physical disability, effects on daily activities and feelings of frustration with also moderate to high disturbance ratings (range: 6.1–7.4).ConclusionsThe interviews highlighted the adverse impact PsA has on the patient’s life and may inform on outcome variables or areas suitable to be assessed in PsA studies.

One of the problems of functioning of coal industry enterprises is the formation of mine waters, which are discharged into water bodies and cause their dangerous pollution. The total volume of water pumped by the enterprise includes up to 15 % for the recycling cycle, the remaining 85% is discharged to surface water bodies. As a result, the ecological balance of coal regions is disturbed, their sanitary and hygienic state on the environment worsens, and the quality of coal is reduced due to the intake of polluted water for technological operations. The volume of mine water contamination increases during mining operations at deeper horizons and in difficult mining and hydrogeological conditions. In turn, this leads to pollution and depletion of underground aquifers and the formation of environmental risk factors. In Kuzbass, all these factors contribute to the development of water crisis, since the state of surface reservoirs has already reached a critical limit. Especially dangerous is the process of liquidation of mines. Closing mines and sections disrupt natural water flows, resulting in all water from the aquifers going to deeper horizons. More pollutants enter the water, which poison the underground hydrosphere of the regions. The paper analyzes the pollutants entering the underground and surface hydro grid at coal-fired plants and offers a Conceptual model for minimizing the risk of water pollution.

The aim of this study was to test Wilson & Cleary’s conceptual model of the direct and mediated pathways between clinical and non-clinical variables in relation to oral health-related quality of life. A random sample of 578 older people was evaluated. Wilson & Cleary’s conceptual model was tested using structural equations modeling including: biological variables, symptom status, functional health, oral health perceptions, oral health-related quality of life. Oral health-related quality of life was assessed with the Oral Health Impact Profile-14 (OHIP-14). In the final model, edentulism was negatively correlated to dissatisfaction of appearance of their dental prostheses (r = -0.25). Worse functional status was correlated with poor oral health perception (r = 0.24). Being aged over 68 (r = 0.25), being a female (r = 0.39) and living in rural areas (r = 0.15) had a direct effect on the edentulism. Age had a direct effect on OHIP-14 (r = -0.15). There was an indirect effect of sex on OHIP-14 via functional status (r = 0.12). The present findings partially support Wilson & Cleary’s model framework.
