The spherical explosion propagation process in aqueous foam with the initial water volume content α10=0.0083 corresponding to the experimental conditions is analyzed numerically. The solution method is based on the one-dimensional two-temperature spherically symmetric model for two-phase gas-liquid mixture. The numerical simulation is built by the shock capturing method and movable Lagrangian grids. The amplitude and the width of the initial pressure pulse are found from the amount of experimental explosive energy. The numerical modeling results are compared to the real experiment. It’s shown, that the foam compression in the shock wave leads to the significant decrease in velocity and in amplitude of the shock wave.

The paper is devoted to numerical modeling of Navier–Stokes equations for incompressible media in the case, when there exist gas and liquid inside the rectangular calculation region, which are separated by interphase boundary. The set of equations for incompressible liquid accounting for viscous, gravitational and surface (capillary) forces is solved by finite-difference scheme on the spaced grid, for description of interphase boundary the ideology of Level Set Method is used. By developed numerical code the set of hydrodynamic problems is solved, which describe the motion of two-phase incompressible media with interphase boundary. As a result of numerical simulation the solutions are obtained, which are in good agreement with existing analytical and experimental solutions.

Abstract An efficient enhancement of the carbonation rate in the bottle filling stage can substantially increase the production in beverage industries. The bottle filling system currently used in most of the manufacturers can still be improved for a better performance of carbonation by designing the injection tube system. This paper reports on an experimental and numerical mass transfer modeling that can simulate the dissolution process of gaseous carbon dioxide into aqueous water in the bottle filler system. In order to establish the operating characteristics of the bottle filler system, an ordinary tap water and pure carbon dioxide were used as the liquid-gas system. The two-phase numerical modeling was developed that can serve as a framework for the continuous improvement of the design of the carbonation process in the bottle filler system. For an optimal design of CO2 injection tube and flow conditions, a computational fluid dynamics (CFD) approach is one of the most power tools. However, since only limited experimental data are available in the open literature to verify the computational results, an experiment study was performed to obtain measurements of CO2 level, temperature, and pressure during the carbonation process in the bottle filled with liquid. Both experimental and numerical studies of various flow condition and different sizes of injection tube are presented in this paper.

In this work, the mechanical properties of composite samples prepared using a conventional and nanomodified matrix were studied. The thickness of the monolayers in the samples was 0,2 μm. It was found in experiments, that the addition of fullerene soot as a nanomodifierled to an increase in the mechanical properties of the samples along the direction of reinforcement. At the same time, an improvement in the quality of the contact of the matrix with the fibers in the samples with the nanomodifier was observed: on the fracture surface, the nanomodified matrix envelops the fibers, while the usual matrix completely exfoliates. The obtained effects of changing the strength of composites can be associated, among other things, with a change in the level of residual stresses arising in composites during nanomodification. Analytical and numerical modeling methods are used to explain these effects.
