A rationale of the principles of evaluating the effectiveness of gas-vortex stabilization of plasma torches has been provided. Taking into account the new possibilities of numerical modeling methods, new criteria have been introduced, their application allows both the developing of new gas-vortex stabilization methods and their using for evaluating the results of plasma equipment designing.

Currently, influence analysis of simulation parameters, especially the trailing edge shape and the corresponding modeling method on the force coefficients of NACA0012 under a high Reynolds number, is relatively sparse. In this paper, two trailing edge shapes are designed by three modeling methods and combined with three far-field distances to establish eighteen two-dimensional external flow fields. The same number of structured grids are generated by a unified grid strategy and the SST k-omega and the Spalart–Allmaras models are adopted to solve the NS equations to realize the numerical simulations. Unlike under low Reynolds numbers, the analysis results show that although the accuracy difference between the sharp trailing edge and the blunt trailing edge decreases as the attack angle range increases, the former is preferred in all studied ranges. As to the corresponding modeling methods, the NACA4 and the definition formula are preferred, the choice of which depends on the studied range. In particular, a greater number of data points adopted into the definition formula is not necessarily better. Considering the error ratios comprehensively, the simulation configurations of sharp trailing edge + 20 m far-field distance + SA/SST/SST/SST/SST/SA turbulence model obtains optimal simulation effects.

The method of application of spline interpolation in solving the problems of identification of abnormal states (A-events) in information data flows and classification of the specified events in the control of natural and technical objects (PTO) is considered. The approach is based on the representation of the intensity of interface traffic by piecewise linear splines and implemented using a modeling stand. At the first stage, descriptions are generated and formed in the form of linear splines representing the states of controlled objects, one of which is subject to external disturbance. At the second stage, the generated descriptions of splines are used to assess discrepancies between the studied distributions and the influence of a number of factors on the reliability of decisions made using probabilistic modeling methods in the Anylogic environment.

Nowadays, identification and neural methods are used more and more often in modeling IT forecasting systems in addition to analytical methods. Six characteristic models used to forecast the Day-Ahead Market system functioning as a transaction management system at the Polish Power Exchange (POLPX) and the Nord Pool Spot market have been selected for comparative analysis. The research was preceded by a detailed discussion of modern criteria used to assess the quality of model fitting to the system, namely: effectiveness, efficiency, and robustness. In the literature, there are two main groups of system modeling methods, namely time series modeling methods and identification modeling methods, including neural modeling methods. Modeling usually results in such models as parametric models and artificial neural networks learned neural models of the Day-Ahead Market, as well as time series models, among others. In the comparative analysis, special attention was paid to the accuracy of the obtained models concerning the system. It has been pointed out that the studied solutions used to measure the accuracy of modeling criteria such as accuracy of fit or efficiency, and did not use the modeling efficiency, which is very important in IT forecasting systems for such large markets as the Day-Ahead Market of POLPX. The search for the best market models, including identification models of the Day-Ahead Market operation that can be used in electricity price forecasting is a very important issue both from the point of view of algorithmic solutions and economical solutions.

An approach has been developed for modeling the gas-sensitive and physicochemical properties of materials based on organic semiconductors. The approach is based on the use of various modeling methods: linear, nonlinear regression analysis and neural networks. The parameters of the technological process of the formation of materials were selected as external signals for modeling: the mass fraction of metal in the film-forming solution, the temperature and time of the first and second stages of annealing.

Periodontitis is one of the most common conditions affecting oral health among adults, posing a great challenge for both patients and also for dentists aiming to treat this disease. In severe stages such deterioration of the supporting tissues, namely the periodontal ligaments and the bone, can occur, which will affect the biomechanical behavior and therefore the longevity and survival of the affected teeth. In order to be able to plan both periodontal and subsequent restorative treatment properly, valid modelling of the current clinical situation is advised. The aim of the present article is to comprehensively discuss possible analog and digital modeling methods of periodontally affected teeth and the periodontal structures surrounding them. Modelling possibilities can serve later as the basis of mechanical load, digital finite element studies, and also aid clinical treatment planning.

Sub-modeling techniques implemented in commercial finite element codes were reviewed. New sub-modeling applications in structural mechanics stress analysis are presented. Sub-modeling methods based on displacement and force cut boundary application are compared. Advantages and disadvantages of these methods are discussed. The case of nested sub-models is demonstrated.
