The study investigates the influence of leadership styles, i.e. transactional and transformational on promoting organizational learning in some selected private universities in Chittagong, Bangladesh. The study used a quantitative research design. Data have been collected from three private universities of Chittagong through a survey instrument. The study analyzed in total 147 matched completed questionnaires. The findings of the study revealed that contingent reward of transactional leadership and idealized influence and individualized consideration of transformational leadership played significant and positive influence on enhancing organizational learning. Although, findings of this research did not report any significant impact of management by exception-active and management by exception-passive as constructs of transactional leadership as well as inspirational motivation and intellectual stimulation as dimensions of transformational leadership style on organizational learning. The study extends present literature in the field by relating leadership styles and organizational learning focusing on emerging economies particularly in the context of Bangladesh. The current research aims to investigate the effect of transformational leadership on entrepreneurial orientation in Jordanian commercial banks, and whether organizational learning capability mediates the effect of transformational leadership on entrepreneurial orientation. Adopting a quantitative research design, data were collected by means of a questionnaire-based survey of employees in Jordanian commercial banks. Based on 330 usable responses, the results revealed the significant effect of transformational leadership and two of its dimensions (inspirational motivation and intellectual stimulation) on entrepreneurial orientation. Two other dimensions (idealized influence and individualized consideration) did not contribute to entrepreneurial orientation. Additionally, the results showed that transformational leadership has a significant effect on organizational learning capability, and that organizational learning capability in turn affects entrepreneurial orientation. The findings confirm that organizational learning capability fully mediates the effect of transformational leadership on entrepreneurial orientation. A number of recommendations are advanced, the most important of which is that banks should improve and develop managers’ transformational attributes by training them on how to deal with employees in order to increase their entrepreneurial orientation. Banks should also consider improving their learning capability, as this plays a significant role in enhancing and supporting the effect of transformational leadership attributes on entrepreneurial orientation.

This study is based on the idea that transformational and transactional leadership style is very important for employees because job satisfaction is achieved with good cause employees are willing and motivated to provide a positive influence on the success of the organization that supports organizational goals effectively and efficiently. Therefore, this study aims to determine whether the transformational and transactional leadership styles simultaneously significant effect on employee performance. The theory is used to analyze the problems is about transformational leadership, transactional leadership style, employee performance. This research was conducted in the Harian Waspada Medan, especially in the civil service. Research approach is a quantitative approach to the type of associative research. The results obtained and also become keseimpulan this study include that the transformational leadership style has no significant effect on employee performance. While transactional leadership style variables have a significant effect on employee performance. Variable transformational and transactional leadership styles simultaneously significant effect on employee performance.

The purpose of this research is to investigate the effect of transformational and transactional leadership styles on firms’ financial performance in a context of knowledge-intensive firms and the mediating role of exploitative and exploratory innovations in this relationship. To achieve this purpose, a quantitative research was conducted on 201 top executives working in knowledge-intensive firms in the context of an emerging country, namely Tunisia. The data analysis was performed via the structural equation modelling method. As a result, the empirical study revealed that the transformational leadership style is a key determinant of exploitative and exploratory innovations and firms’ financial performance. In this perspective, the two types of innovation partially mediate the link between transformational leadership and financial performance. However, transactional leadership affects only exploitative innovation. This original study offers a better understanding of the contribution of the transformational and transactional leadership styles on exploitative and exploratory innovations and the firms’ financial performance in a context of firms’ intensive knowledge. It offers a reading grid for managers of knowledge-intensive firms to better lead and identify key elements that may boost the firms’ innovation ambidexterity and performance.

The transformational leadership style in higher education has four indicators carried out by the rector. These indicators include exemplary attitudes, inspiring motivation, intellectual stimulation and the rector's consideration for lecturers. Practically, the purpose of this article is to find out how the rector provides examples, inspires motivation and individual considerations in improving the performance of lecturers at Muhammadiyah universities. The operational research method uses a qualitative approach with a phenomenological case study design. Data collection activities were carried out by means of observation, interviews with informants, and extracting information from documents. To ensure the validity of the research data, several methods are used, namely credibility, transferability, dependability and confirmability. The results of the study explain that transformative leadership in Muhammadiyah universities objectively has provided an example with several things that are applied in attitudes, ideas, behavior and performance. While motivation is carried out by the Chancellor of the lecturers in several ways, namely through behavior, technical ability, supervision and policy. In stimulating the intellectuals of lecturers in several ways, namely to think modern and relevant, think forward and continue to make changes as well as productive, innovative, creative in carrying out tasks and performance. In individual consideration, the Chancellor is more humane towards lecturers, both in the work environment and in the community.

Competition within the retail grocery industry has reached an all-time high. Organizations looking to differentiate themselves from rivals are focusing on improved customer satisfaction. This quantitative research study investigated how customer satisfaction was related to contemporary leadership styles and employee engagement. Transactional leadership theory, transformational leadership theory, and charismatic leadership theory were used as the theoretical framework of the study. Regression analyses were conducted to determine the effect of contemporary leadership styles on employee engagement in addition to determining the extent of the relationship existing with customer satisfaction. The results of the study indicated both transactional leadership and transformational leadership positively impacted or increased employee engagement; however, transformational leadership proved to be a significantly higher predictor of employee engagement.

AbstractLeadership style used in a higher education institution affects the competence-based performance of the lecturers and the administrative staff. In turn, their performance will affect the institution performance. So, leadership style influences the institution toward strengthening its strategy to sustain. This study examined the transactional and transformational leadership styles toward the lecturers and the administrative staff of STIE Perbanas Surabaya. Transformational leadership was measured using ideal, inspirational, and intellectual stimuli; while transactional leadership was measured using exceptional management and contingency reward. The indicators used to measure the lecturers' performance were on teaching, module, research, civil services, IT, English; while for administrative staff were integrity, service, professionalism, learning, adaptation, documenting, English. The survey involved 32 lecturers and 31 administrative staff. The data was collected using questionnaire and was statistically analyzed using multiple regressions. The result was that transformational leadership significantly influenced both the lecturers and the administrative staff, while transactional leadership did not affect both the lecturers and the administrative staff. The implication was that the top management can set strategies of putting motivation of all organization members in the frame of improving their competence thus this will help the institution grow and sustain.

Purpose: The leadership phenomenon is fundamental in providing employees with direction and emotional indulgence to derive maximum effort out of them. Therefore, it is vital that an organisation places uninhibited emphasis on the appropriate leadership style to enhance employee performance. Premised on the Collaborative Leadership Model, this paper sought to extricate the nexus between leadership style and employee performance at a selected bank in Botswana, focusing on the transactional, transformational, and participative leadership styles. Research methodology: The study adopted a positivist research paradigm coupled with a survey research design, while a quantitative methodology was used to collect data through a self-administered questionnaire. The study population comprised 433 employees from which a sample of 200 was randomly selected. Data was analysed through the Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS), culminating in statistical techniques such as factor analysis, regression analysis and Analysis of Variance (ANOVA). Results: The results of the study revealed that there was a significant utilisation of the participative, transformational, and transactional leadership styles at the selected commercial bank. However, while the use of the participative and transactional leadership styles had a positive and significant influence on employee performance, the transformational leadership style’s effect was insignificant. Limitation: The study only used quantitative data from employees for analysis and did not include bank leaders’ opinions. Contribution: The study contributed to the expansion of the body of knowledge on leadership style and employee performance in the banking sector in Botswana and elsewhere and helped to unmask the shortcomings of some styles while exposing the power of others in reaping positive reinforcements leading to enhancement of employee performance. The aim this study is to analyze the effect of leadership style (transformational and transactional) on employee behavior (in-role and extra-role), which mediated a political organization. The sample is 120 employees of Bank BRI in Madiun, a random sampling technique based on stem number of employees. Data analysis using SEM with LISREL program. The results of this study indicate that 1) Transformational leadership style has positive influence on behavior in the role of employees, 2) Transformational leadership style has no effect on extra-role behavior (Organizational citizenship behavior, OCB), 3) Transactional leadership style did not affect employees' behavior in role , 4) Transactional leadership style has positive influence on OCB behaviors (extra-role) of employees, 5) Transformational leadership style has positive influence on employees 'political organization, 6) Transactional leadership style has positive influence on employees' political organization, 7) Political organization negatively affect the behavior in the role of employees, 8) Political organization negatively affect the behavior of OCB (extra-role) of employees, 9) Political organization to mediate the influence of transformational leadership behaviors in the role of employees, 10 Political organizations mediate the influence of transformational leadership on OCB behavior (extra-role) employees, 11) Political organization to mediate the effect of transactional leadership role behavior in employees, and 12) Political organization to mediate the influence of transformational leadership on OCB behaviors (extra-role) of employees at Bank BRI in Madiun.Keywords: Transformational leadership style, Transactional Leadership Style, Political Organization, in-role behavior, extra-role behavior, and OCB

Research has suggested a relationship between leadership style and job satisfaction. This paper examines this relationship in the context of a developing country, viz., South Africa. The objective of the paper is to assess the relationship between the two variables as well as the influence of biographical variables on leadership style and job satisfaction. The survey was based on the Minnesota Satisfaction Questionnaire and the Multifactor Leadership Questionnaire. The results suggest a significant correlation between the three leadership styles, viz., transformational leadership, transactional leadership and laissez-faire leadership, and job satisfaction. There were no significant differences between the biographical variables and the three leadership styles.
