Pronunciation is one important thing that must be mastered by the students who studies English. Good Pronunciation makes students’ English speaking skills becomes better. This research aimed at analyzing the errors made by students of English education department of FKIP UMSU in pronouncing English words. The objectives of this study were 1) to describe the opinions of English education students about their English pronunciation skills so far; 2). to analyze the forms of English pronunciation errors made by the students; 3) to explore strategies or efforts made by students to improve their English pronunciation skills; 4) to Identify obstacles found by the students in English pronunciation. Descriptive qualitative design was used  in this research. The data were obtained by doing the interview and asking the students to pronounce some English words in specific topic. The findings of this research revealed that students had various opinion about their ability in English pronunciation. Some students thought that they had good English pronunciation skills; some students thought that their ability in pronouncing English words was better than before and some other students still thought that their English pronunciation skills were not good. Based on the analysis of data, the students still made some errors in pronouncing English words. In order to improve their pronunciation, the students used some strategies such as watching YouTube in English and using google voice application.

The aim of this paper is to report the observation findings of foreign language beliefs and behaviors among three communities of English speaking communities’ specific of their cultural identity. The study used descriptive qualitative design since the author wants to describe the phenomenon happened in this study. Three English speaking communities were taken as the data; first, Krismit whatsApp group conversation; second, a private whatsApp conversation between two non-native speakers; third, a classroom talk. Those data were taken from the author’s cellphone, then the chats were exported, transcribed and analyzed well through their beliefs and behaviors specific of their cultural identity. The findings of the present study indicate that the awareness of using English pattern in two communities needs to be more highlighted, while the other community revealed the cultural matter in the form of expressions. Therefore, teachers’ and educators’ big effort in decreasing this issue is crucially needed.

The Corellation between Students’ Self Confidence and Their Speaking Skill. ( Inthe Second-Grade Students of English Education Department of STKIP Garut)This study was undertaken by the writer because most of English studentsoften got dificulty in English speaking. Especialy in their confident to speakEnglish. To have a good English speaking , the students are expected to be able tobuild,develop and show their confident to use English speaking in any opportunity.Besides that, through self confident the students costumize to use English as daillyCommunication, it is important for the students to get more interaction and practicesin English speak in order they can mastering English speaking skill well.This study was aimed at investigating the corellation between students’ selfconfidence and theirs’ speaking skill. It was intended not only to solve the studentsdificulties in speaking English, But also to answer the main question “ Is there asignificant corellation between students’ self confidence and their speaking skill?”.The writer used the correlational method to find out and investigate whetherthere was a corellation or not between two variabels and how strong it is. Therespondent , Sixty four students of the second grade of English Education Programof STKIP Garut were selected proporsionl stratified randomly. The study began byassigining the students to answer the self confidence questionaries, then the writercollect the students speaking score from first until third which have provided inEnglish program office. Beside that, the writer clasified category for confidennceand took average speaking score from first until third to support the result of thedata analysis.The instrument include two variabels: Students’ self confidence and averageof speaking score list. To analyze the data, the writer used Pearson/Product Testformula to test the corellation and to test hypotesis. The result of the data analysisshowed the coefficient corellation between two variabels is 0,007 (sig = 0,007).Based on this result, it could be concluded that there was a very significantcorellation between students’ self confidence and their speaking skill. For thisreason, the researcher purposed some recomendation for the teacher and thestudents of STKIP Garut. The students suggested that they should build,develop,force and show their confidence of practicies in speaking English.

The study aims at describing the students’ response to the application of Group Correction of Students’ Written Assignment technique assisted with Peer-Editing Worksheet in cause-effect essay teaching. The type of the study is descriptive qualitative research. The respondents of the study are the fourth semester students of the English Education Department of Universitas PGRI Semarang. The techniques used to collect the data are questionnaire and interview. The data are analyzed qualitatively The result of the study shows that through Group Correction of Students’ Written Assignment technique assisted with Peer-Editing Worksheet, the students can take some advantages. For example, the students can review other group’ works easily; they can also learn from other work errors to avoid making the same errors in their own writing, and add more ideas on their own writing by reading others’ works, etc. In conclusion, Group Correction of Students’ Written Assignment technique assisted with Peer-Editing Worksheet is useful learning technique for both the writer of the essay and the students who provide feedback.

Many students usually find it hard to speak in English, because they have not practiced enough. This reason makes them cannot speak English well. Speaking is the skill which student should master it in order to communicate with other people. The situation in the learning process is one of the important things that the teacher should consider. This research aims to know; (1) the students’ achievement of the third semester of English Education Department at the University of Technology Yogyakarta in speaking English using role-play technique on academic year 2018/2019, and (2) the influencing factors to the students’ speaking skill achievement using role-play technique. The method used was quantitative method with experimental design to 9 students as the research sample. The data were analysed using Microsoft Excel 2013. The findings indicated that the mean score increased from 70 to 78.88, the standard deviation also improved from 6.123 to 7.817. Furthermore, the data from questionnaire indicated that the students had positive responses toward the use of role-play technique. Therefore, the use of role-play technique can improve the students’ speaking ability at this experimental research.

 Abstract The objective of the research to know the perception of fourth semester students of Universitas Muria Kudus  on the use social media in learning English. The researcher used descriptive qualitative research and the data was collected by the used of questionnaire. The participants are 50 students of English Education Department of Universitas Muria Kudus. The result showed social media have good perception for the fourth semester students of English Education Department of Universitas Muria Kudus. Social media have provide rich resource to learn English.                It is indicate that social media has positive contribution for learning English they are listening, reading, writing and speaking skill.

This study explores speaking anxiety: the identification of speaking anxiety in English education study program. Using a mixed methods approach, this research selected two different categories, students studying in English Education Department private university and those studying in English Education Department in public university as research participants. The findings suggest that the main factors of speaking anxiety causes at public university were essentially affected by nervousness and idea delivery. Nevertheless, English students in private university claimed that their dominant cause is rooted from self-confidence; considering mistakes and lecturers’ attitude during English speaking performance. This research is beneficial in enriching literature in the scope of English education department, especially in Indonesia and others state adopting English as foreign language. It is crucial to note that students’ voice is worth to listen, as a reflection for English teachers or lecturers identifying their students’ speaking anxiety to apply appropriate and a more effective learning method.

Abstract: This study aims to explain the digital quiz to review learning material. Material Development is a subject that is reviewed by the student and the review done through Quizalize. A digital quiz which is so user friendly and quick interesting. The participants of this research are sixteen students of English Education Department, from University of Technology Yogyakarta. The researchers used qualitative descriptive to analyze the data. Qualitative data are obtained from quiz that has been completed by the students. The result of this study shows that the display of the quiz is interesting, Quizalize provides analysis for each questions, Quizalize also shows the result for each student, grouped students into categories based on their score. The researchers recommend Quizalize as digital quiz that can be used by the teacher to review the material.Keywords: digital quiz, review, material development, quizalize

Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui orientasi motivasi dan sikap bahasa mahasiswa Jurusan Pendidikan Bahasa Inggris Universitas Pendidikan Ganesha terhadap bahasa Inggris dan pembelajaran Bahasa Inggris. Sejumlah 70 mahasiswa tahun pertama di Jurusan Pendidikan Bahasa Inggris tahun akademik 2014/2015 disurvei dengan menggunakan AMTB (Attitude, Motivation Test Battery) yaitu kuesioner yang diadaptasikan dari Gardner (1985) untuk mengetahui motivasi dan sikap bahasa, yang meliputi a) ketertarikan terhadap Bahasa Inggris, b) dukungan dari orang tua, c) intensitas motivasi, d) sikap terhadap pembelajaran bahasa Inggris, e) sikap terhadap penutur asli bahasa Inggris, f) orientasi integratif, g) keinginan untuk mempelajari bahasa Inggris, dan h) orientasi instrumental. Data dianalisis secara deskriptif dan inferensial. Berdasarkan hasil kuesioner, mahasiswa Jurusan Pendidikan Bahasa Inggris, yang bukan merupakan penutur asli bahasa Inggris, mempelajari bahasa Inggris dengan alasan instrumental dan integratif, dan memiliki sikap yang sangat tinggi terhadap bahasa Inggris dan pembelajaran bahasa Inggris. Penelitian ini juga memaparkan implikasi terhadap pembelajaran bahasa Inggris. Kata Kunci: bahasa Inggris, motivasi, sikap. Abstract This study investigated motivation orientation and attitude towards the target language of 70 English Education Department students of Ganesha University of Education. The researcher administered survey using AMTB (Attitude, Motivation Test Battery) which was adapted from Gardner (1985). The survey included eight domains, namely a) interest in English, b) parental encouragement, c) motivational intensity, d) attitude towards learning English, e) attitude towards English-speaking people, f) integrative orientation, g) desire to learn English, and h) instrumental orientation. The data were analyzed descriptively and inferentially. The result reveals that English Education Department students of Ganesha University of Education learn English for both instrumental and integrative reasons. They tend to have positive attitudes towards English and learning English. This study also presents the implication to English learning. Keywords : attitude, English, motivation

This research focuses on students' English speaking problems, and this research aims to find out the most dominant problem of speaking in English as a Foreign Language (EFL) situation faced by the students of English Departement at Tidar University. The research method used in this research is the qualitative method. The writer uses a questionnaire as a tool for data collection. From the questionnaire, the problems that most dominant faced by the English education students of the English Department at Tidar University is Linguistic problems. Linguistic problems include less grammar, lack of vocabulary, and poor pronunciation. The next is psychological problems include, including lack of self-confidence, anxiety, and shyness. Meanwhile, instructor related problems did not have much effect on speaking problems for the students. In conclusion, Linguistic problems are the most dominant problem faced by the English education students of the English Department at Tidar University.

abstract. The objective of the research is to find out the kinds of social media used by fourth semester students of English Education Department of Universitas Muria Kudus for learning English. The researchers used descriptive qualitative research and the data was collected by the use of questionnaire. The participants are 50 students of English Education Department of Universitas Muria Kudus. The result showed that social media the students use for learning English are YouTube (94%),, Instagram (72%0, WhatsApp (62%), Twitter (32), Facebook (30%), Line (10%), Manwha (6%), Telegram  (2%), Google (2%),  Tik Tok (1%), Cake English App  (1%), Quora (1%) and Discord (1%)
