Teachers’ attitudes, teaching styles, and teaching strategies are needed to motivate students’ enthusiasm and interest in learning English. This study aims to analyze students’ perceptions of teachers’ attitudes, styles, and strategies. This study uses quantitative method with a survey design which used a questionnaire as the research instrument to get data. The study is conducted by using Google Form to get the data from the participants. The population of this study is the students of English Department of Zainul Hasan Islamic University Genggong. The sample used in this study are thirty-six students that are from several high schools around the area of Kraksaan. The collected data of this study is then analyzed by using a statistical formula to get the percentage of each question. The results shows that most of the teachers high schools around the area of Kraksaan have good attitudes and strategies in teaching English.

Nowadays, the total number of parents who send their children to the school of Islam Terpadu (IT) increased significantly especially in Aceh. The design of mixed curriculum between general education and religious education became a trigger for parents. The aim of this study is to explore teaching and learning English at one of senior high schools of Islam Terpadu (IT) in Banda Aceh in terms of teaching strategies, media and assessment. This study used qualitative method in nature. Two English teachers who taught at the tenth grade were participated in this study. Observations and interview were conduct to collect the data. The data were analysed and interpreted through qualitative procedures. The findings indicated that teachers used various strategies, media and different assessment in teaching English to motivate the students to learn English. In other hand, talent program stimulated the students to improve their English abilities which are related to religious education. However, the teachers expect to set out the English contents more specifically toward religious education (Qur’an and Hadits).

Students’ strategies in learning English attract many EFL researchers’ attention. The objective of this study was to find out rural students’ strategies in English learning. The study was conducted in three different senior high schools in Teunom Sub-District of Aceh Jaya regency. The research used a quantitative method by employing survey design. The modified Strategy Inventory for Language Learning (SILL) questionnaire developed by Oxford was used as an instrument to obtain required data. The population of this survey was all classes in the three schools. Three classes of each school were randomly chosen from the tenth, eleventh, and twelfth grades. Therefore, 136 students of nine classes became the sample of this research. The collected data were analyzed through a quantitative procedure by using a statistical formula to find the percentage of each statement. The results showed that the students employed a variety of strategies in learning English. The most common strategy employed was metacognitive followed by social, affective, memory, cognitive, and compensation.

Purposes: This research aimed at finding the teaching style by English teachers in teaching English to second grade students at SMAN 1 Enrekang, teaching styles that second grade students of SMAN 1 Enrekang favor, and whether the teaching style of the teachers of English maintain the motivation of the second grade students. Methodology: The sample consisted of two teachers and 30 students in two classes. In this research, the data were obtained through three kinds of instruments namely, observation checklist, questionnaire, and interview. Findings: The result showed that the teaching style of English teacher of XI IPA 3 was auditory while the English teacher of XI IPS 1 was visual auditory, both two classes of XI IPA 3 and XI IPS 1 favored kinesthetic visual teaching style, and the teachers could maintain the motivation of both two classes based on the result of mean score showed that it was positive. The result of questionnaire calculation of XI IPA 3 students was 94.5 with the mean was 3.94. The result of questionnaire calculation of XI IPS 1 students was 95.4 with the mean was 3.97. Implication: The results were considered to be positive as stated in Likert Scale.

The objective of this study is to learn how English teachers’ teaching style at Senior High Schools (SMAs) in Meureudu in introducing concept mapping strategy in delivering reading comprehension lesson. In teaching Reading Comprehension, different teaching styles gives different students learning experience and output, and using concept mapping, students are stimulated to have better control over their comprehension. This study was conducted at SMA 1 Meureudu and SMA 2 Meureudu, a town located 123 kms from Banda Aceh, Indonesia. Very often, English classes in schools located far from the main cities in Aceh suffer from lack interesting activity The study was using qualitative approach through class activity observations and interviews. Concept mapping activities facilitated by the teachers at SMA 1 Meureudu used digital projector and paper handouts as the media for the group activities. The teacher of SMA 2 Meureudu used only handout paper as a medium and by pairing the students. The findings of this study showed that the teaching styles in delivering reading activity using the concept mapping activity used by the teachers in both schools differ in the way how the teacher assign student to work on the task. The students were found to be more fully engaged in the reading activity with concept mapping compared to any past reading activities using translating line-by-line and answering questions. Assigning group reading task also help boost the students motivation and collaborative responsibility to learn.

The implementation of ICT is very important in education. By using ICT, the process of teaching and learning is more effective and efficient. The objectives of this research were (1) to find out the attitudes of English teachers of public senior high schools in Palembang towards the use of ICT in the process of teaching and learning English, and (2) to find out the problems that commonly faced by English teachers towards the use of ICT in the process of teaching and learning English. This research was conducted at 16 public senior high schools in Palembang. There were 19 respondents who were selected by using �purposive sampling� technique. The data were collected by using questionnaire, interview, observation and documentation. The obtained data were analyzed in descriptive statistics. The statement checklist which used Likert scale was presented in the form of percentage while the results of answering descriptive questions was reported descriptively. The results showed that the attitudes of the teachers towards the use of ICT in the process of teaching and learning English were positive. However, some of them still faced many problems such as lack of ICT equipments, lack of competency, and also unsupported regulation from institution. Therefore, the facilities and infrastructures in each school and also the teachers� ability and knowledge about the use of ICT need to be increased.

The purposes of the study were to describe application of PPP method in teaching vocabulary at University of Muhammadiyah Lampung, especially General lesson in Islamic Education and to know the result of students’ vocabularies achievement after teaching by using PPP method. The population of study was University of Muhammadiyah Lampung, especially General lesson in Islamic Education. And there were thirty students as sample. The data of collecting method used documentation and test. The analysis data used mean of average. The students’ mastery of vocabularies has improved after PPP method was given. It was supported by the significant different result of the standard score that has been taken from the English teacher, mean was lower 59.5 than the last score in action research, mean was 72.5. The following suggestions are offered. First, the use of a PPP Method should be maintained frequently and recommended to the English teacher, especially to teach children around 7-10 in order to attract their motivation in learning English to be more interested. Second, a teacher should be clever in creating a contusive situation; try to apply other teaching strategies so that the class becomes alive. Hopefully, there would be further studies on teaching English using PPP Method.

This study examines a range of learning activities used in teaching English and identifies those that students see as most helpful. The instrument used in this study was a questionnaire adopted from Willing (1988). Some modification had been made to meet the purpose of this study. The questionnaire consists of two parts. Part 1 is ethnographic data in terms of the participants’ gender and field of study. Part 2 consists several items comprises students’ preferred activities in learning English. Students are asked to rank the activities of each category by circling one number. Circling number 1 means it is not helpful /preferable, while circling number 4 means it is very helpful /preferable for them. Then, all the responses were analyzed using SPSS Professional Statistics.The study suggests a number of pedagogical implication for English teaching and learning for non-English department students at universities in Indonesia. The finding suggests that teachers should take preferred activities into account when they are teaching. In addition, the study also proposed some suggestions for further research. These suggestions state the need to conduct research which involves more participants to confirm the results of the current study.

In Indonesia, English is taught even in the most basic educational institutions, that is Kindergarten. But, most of the Kindergarten teacher did not graduate from English department, so the English they taught often contain the mistakes. This study aimed to identify the mistakes that was made by the teacher during teaching and learning English. The designed of this study is descriptive-qualitative research. The data of this study was collected from the sentences containing mistakes spoken by the teacher in teaching and learning activity at Kindergarten Ar-Roihan Lawang. The result of this study showed that the teacher did some mistakes when she taught English in the class. The researcher found 32 mistakes made by the teacher. The most mistakes made by the teacher is structure of the sentences with 18 mistakes, the second is the plural of nouns with 8 mistakes, and the last is tenses with 6 mistakes.

The purpose of this editorial article is intended to provide pre- and in-service teachers with useful suggestions in terms of teaching English in an EFL setting. Because learners of today take in and process information in very different ways, ways of teaching or instructing needs to be deifferntiated accordingly. In fact, there is no doubt that learners academic performance and efficacy towards learning is mostly determined by teaching styles of a teacher. In other words, effets or results of learning may be varied based on teaching method. In terms of English education, both pre- and in-service English teachers, therefore, should consider which methods may fit well into the class in order for learners to fulfill the ultimate goals of learning English. This paper proposes how and why to adapt computer assisted learning.
