Pot experiment is carried out at the greenhouse belongs to the college of Education-university of Al-Anbar during Winter season 2013/2014 to investigate the effect of application of different levels of bat guano (0, 4 and 8gm) on some yield  traits for two bread wheat Triticum aestivum L. Cvs, one is local cv. (Aliz) another one is imported from Australia (Eratom). The experimental treatments are distributed according factorial experiment arrangement using completely randomized blocks with three replicates. Some traits are measured as spikes no per plant, spike length, spike weight, grains nos. per spike and grains weight per pot. Results reveal that bat guano application of 8gm is significantly superior in the average of. It thus could be concluded that the application of bat guano at 8gm alone is the better than 4gm in some traits. However, the genetic affinity of local cv is dominated with 4gm application and of imported cv is to 8gm application. Therefore, it could be recommended to test the application of bat guano on the two cultivars across field environment

Pot experiment was carried out at a greenhouse belongs to College of Education-University of Alanbar during winter season of 2013/2014 to investigate the effect of application of different levels of bat guano 0, 4 and 8 gm on some growth traits for two bread wheat triticum aestivum L. Cvs, one is local cv. (Aliz) another one is imported from Australia (Eratom). The experimental treatments were distributed under with factorial experiment arrangement 23 and 43.30 gm and root dry weight of 7.29 and 7.53, for each combination, respectively. It thus could be concluded that the application of bat guano at 8gm alone was the better than 4gm in some traits. However, the genetic affinity of local cv was dominated with 4gm application and of imported cv was to 8gm application. Some traits were measured as plant height, leaf area, leaf nos., tillers nos., root length, vegetative dry weight and root dry weight. Results revealed that bat guano application of 8gm was significantly superior in average of leaf nos of 33 leaves. Plant-1, tiller nos of (5.5 tillers. Plant-1) root length of 10.5 cm and vegetative dry weight of 40.27 gm. Local cv also significantly gave the highest average of leaf nos 29 leaves. Plant-1, root length 10.0 cm and vegetative dry weight 37.31 gm. Furthermore, the interaction combinations of 4gm with local cv and 8gm with imported one were superior in average leaf nos of 38 and 28 leaves. Plant-1, tiller nos of 7 and 5 tillers. Plant-1, root length of 11 and 10 cm, vegetative dry weight of 40.

Oman is endowed with enormous diversity of important food crops that have global significance for food security and has ancient history of cultivation of bread wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) with its divergent landraces, which are useful in crop improvement. 55 indigenous Omani accessions conserved at the USDA were evaluated in the winter season (November to April) of the years 2017-2018 and 2018-2019 on loamy soil under sprinklers in augmented design with 5 check varieties in 5 replications following crop husbandry practices as per national recommendations using 9 quantitative (descriptors) and 6 qualitative traits (anthocyanin pigmentation on plant parts). The data on traits were subjected not only for PC values and D values after varimax rotation through Kaiser normalization in Principal Component Analysis (PCA) but also for Agglomerative Hierarchical Clustering (AHC). The results indicated that indigenous bread wheat accessions were significantly different (p>0.05) for all the quantitative traits except number of tillers. The multivariate analyses led to formation of four diverse clusters from PCA analyses corresponding to four quadrants of bi-plot graphs and three clusters from AHC analysis corresponding to main clades of dendrogram. The parents were selected from common accessions of distinct clusters in all the multivariate analyses for hybridization for improving characters of growth for higher yield or productivity with pigmentation on one or two plant parts useful for DUS test of varieties. The indigenous bread wheat landraces / accessions were genetically diverse and have potential for use in national crop improvement programs for earliness and higher grain productivity with distinct identification markers.
