The increasing demand for multifamily housing in the United States requires alternatives for building more affordable and sustainable housing to improve the quality of life for millions of families. Offsite construction (OSC) strategies may be a viable alternative for tackling this problem. Although the use of OSC is significant in the multifamily housing market in the world and it is also very promising in the US, a scarce amount of literature has focused on this topic. The purpose of this study is to identify specific factors that affect decisions on the use of OSC in multifamily housing in the US. Focusing on the sustainability dimensions of construction—social, environmental, and economic—the authors reviewed literature that was published between 2000 and 2019 and identified factors that are related to OSC adoption in general construction, in housing construction, and, more specifically, in multifamily housing construction in the US. Subsequently, a discussion on some important factors affecting decisions on the use of OSC in the American multifamily market is provided. The discussion focused on factors that, although important, have been under explored in the literature that addresses the use of OSC in multifamily projects, especially in the US, which are: customer’s attitude, building performance, and building comfort and indoor environmental quality (IEQ). In addition, a brief discussion regarding the importance of design to the uptake of OSC in multifamily projects is provided. This is one of the first studies dedicated to exploring the social, environmental, and economic factors that affect the use of OSC in multifamily housing in the US. The study also identifies research gaps, which serve as a roadmap for future research.

The aim of the study is to assess the innovative potential of housing construction through determining the purchasing power of citizens acquiring housing in the property. In terms of hypothesis the study offers the term of acquiring housing in property as a criterion for this assessment. This indicator displays the change in the purchasing power of citizens under the influence of various externalities. The analysis of this indicator allows us to determine the influence of these factors on the change in the purchasing power of population, to identify the reserves that contribute to its increase, and to identify the policies aimed at innovative development of construction industry. The article assesses the innovative development of housing through an in-depth analysis of factors affecting the change in the term of housing acquisition in the Russian Federation at large, as well as in the context of individual subjects of the Central and North-Western Federal Districts of Russia in the period from 2017 to 2018.

Within the framework of achieving several sustainable development goals, the construction of high-quality and affordable housing for citizens is considered. According to the Decree of the President of the Russian Federation “On national goals and strategic objectives of the development of the Russian Federation for the period up to 2030”, it is necessary to increase the volume of housing construction to at least 120 million square meters per year. The construction of standard-class housing contributes to the achievement of these goals. The article uses regression analysis to determine the main factors affecting the construction of standard-class housing in the city of Yekaterinburg. The problems and prospects for the development of housing construction at the expense of the standard-class segment are also identified.

Since the beginning of human life, housing problems are the most important matters of his life and with the expansion of urban life, importance in terms of the needs of mental, psychological and physical users has been doubled. The housing subject has been always interest to architects from various aspects and attempts made to improve affordable housing, attempts to improve relations or social housing, or seek to identify and develop the cultural origins, economics, management and other macro policies. On the other hand due to the growing population and consequently expand need to housing, and also identifying of residential needs of people in different dimensions necessity of this research is doubled. This study assuming more than half of the land in our cities is devoted to residential use and also lack of attention to sustainable development in the Residential Buildings the purpose of this study sustainable urban development and the achievement of sustainable affordable housin pattern.This study focuse on descriptive- analytical and based on library research seeks to answer this question: What are the criteria for designing sustainable housing in Iran? Thus, after the introduction, do analysis and commentary related content. Conclusion suggest that in addition to aspects of sustainability (economic, social and environmental), factors such as social, cultural and attention to the flexibility according to Iranian households, design sustainable housing should be considered.

The article presents a program of scientific and practical research on the assessment of “green” technologies in wooden low-rise housing construction in the field of energy efficiency and resource conservation. The objects of research are two identical experimental buildings built in 2020 in Murmansk and Petrozavodsk using different technologies of wooden housing construction and various thermal insulation materials. Attention is focused on assessing the factors affecting the energy efficiency class and the internal microclimate of a wooden building, taking into account the changing environmental conditions and operating modes of buildings in cold climates. The stages of the study were determined, the tasks for each type of experiment and the expected results were formulated. Methods fixed in the regulatory documents of the Russian Federation are considered as the main ones. A method for monitoring the parameters of the internal microclimate, environment and temperature and humidity in the layers of the enclosing structures of model objects is proposed and implemented. The implementation of the research program will allow assessing the influence of the factors under study on the energy efficiency class of a wooden building and developing recommendations for the design, construction and operation of low-rise wooden buildings in a cold climate, taking into account the criteria of “green” construction.
