A study of the clinical efficacy and safety of the drug Samelix (ademetionine, manufacturer – JSC «Canonfarma production», Russia) in 30 patients with chronic alcoholic liver disease (steatohepatitis mild to moderate currents, cirrhosis of the liver grade a ChildPugh) with the syndrome of cholestasis. Purpose of the study: evaluate the clinical efficacy and safety of Samelix (ademetionine) in 30 patients with chronic alcoholic liver disease. Objectives of the study: evaluate the effect of the drug on biochemical parameters, evaluate the effect of the drug on the clinical manifestation of the disease based on the individual diary data during the course therapy, assess the quality of life through the SF-36 questionnaire before and after treatment; report adverse events. The results of the study showed that therapy with this drug leads to a significant positive dynamics of biochemical parameters, regression of clinical manifestations of the disease, a significant increase in the quality of life. Good and excellent results of therapy were observed in 76.7% of cases. The drug is safe and well tolerated.

AbstractObjective: to identify and correlate nutritional status, quality of life and food intake in patients with CKD on hemodialysis. Method: this is a quantitative, descriptive, observational, cross-sectional study with a non-probabilistic sample design. The study sample consisted of 63 individuals, from 21 to 86 years old. EN was assessed by anthropometric and biochemical parameters, BMI and Global Subjective Assessment (GSA). A 24-hour dietary recall was used for food consumption and, for QOL, the Kidney Disease Quality Of Life Short Form questionnaire (KDQOL-SF). Results: it was found that among the comorbidities related to CKF, diabetes prevailed (76%). According to the PEW protocol, 73% of the patients were eutrophic and, by BMI, 57% were eutrophic. Conclusion: it was concluded that the coefficients had a non-substantial or low correlation for EN and QL and food intake. Inadequate food intake and biochemical parameters were observed. Abstract Introduction. Hemodialysis patients require high standards in the field of dental diseases prevention and also in pharmacological and dialysis methods of combating biochemical disorders. It is necessary to question the methods of monitoring oral hygiene quality among hemodialysis patients. Aim. The aim of this study was to determine the relationship between Approximal Plaque Index (API) and the quality of life and biochemical parameters of the calcium, phosphate and iron metabolism. Material and methods. The study was conducted on a group of 124 individuals – 65 women (52%) and 59 men (48%) aged 24-90, volunteered to undergo hemodialysis in chronic renal failure, who consented to participate in this study. All participants of the study were treated for at least 6 months, through repeated hemodialyses in dialysis centers in Lublin. The dental examination was performed and Approximal Plaque Index (API) was determined. The Polish version of the quality of life questionnaire SF-36 was used. The values of urea, serum creatinine concentration, serum level of calcium, serum phosphorus, parathormone, transferrin, ferritin, and iron were also under control. The Kruskal-Wallis H test and Spearman Rank Correlation was used. Results. Patients with optimal API reported higher levels of iron and lowest concentration of transferrin and serum phosphorus before HD. Patients who were characterized by high levels of phosphate and parathyroid hormone evaluated their functioning in the emotional sphere as worse compared to others. Higher concentrations of iron and transferrin favor a better sense of the quality of life. Conclusions. Lower concentrations of phosphate before hemodialysis and higher iron levels contribute to maintaining optimal interdental hygiene in patients treated with renal replacement therapy. Normalization of biochemical parameters of calcium-phosphate and iron metabolism promotes a sense of better quality of life among patients on chronic hemodialysis. The level of interdental hygiene does not distinguish between general indicators of the sense of quality of life.

Introduction: Chronic venous insufficiency (HVI) is manifested by the progressive signs of venous stasis. This disorder is treated by: compressive bandaging, medicaments, sclerotherapy, surgery, etc. Aim: Prospective study of the effects of semisynthetic diosmin (clinical signs, quality of life, local biochemical parameters) on patients with HVI to whom no other method of treatment has previously been administered. Method applied: This prospective study analyzed the presence of risk factors and personal history of 80 patients with HVI. Diagnosis of HVI was based on the clinical appearance and the color duplex scan. Each patient's clinical signs (pain, edema, feeling of heaviness and tightness in the lower leg), quality of life (physical, social, and psychological), and CEAP stage were assessed prior to and 30 days after the treatment with Phlebodia 600?. For 15 patients with unilateral varicose veins, local values of lactates and gas analysis were taken under the conditions before and following the static load, and venous control samples were taken from the healthy leg. The acquired data were processed by means of descriptive statistics, while the significance of nonparametric features was measured by Wilcoxon test. Results: HVI is somewhat more frequent among females than among mails, on the left than on the right leg, and at the average age of 52.3+ 10.5. The patients with HVI are basicly engaged in professions with static load and have positive family history. The patients mainly started medical treatment 12.5+8.6 years after the first symptoms of the disease. Clinical improvement was recorded on the state of 65/80 patients. After the treatment numerical values of some of the clinical signs were statistically lower compared to the values before the administration of semisynthetic diosmin: oedema (0.94:1.50), pain (1.10:1.84), feeling of heaviness (1.20:1.96), and tightness (1.14:1.78). After the administration of the tested medication, parameters of physical, social, and psychological quality of life were significantly improved (p<0,0001), accompanied with significantly improved (p<0,0001) CEAP stage of HVI (3.00:3.40). Local biochemical parameters had not been significantly changed. Conclusion: Administration of semisynthetic diosmin during 30 days results in significant improvement of clinical signs, quality of life and CEAP stage of HVI.
