The current framework of agroecosystem (AES) knowledge focuses on a systemic approach or static structures rather than on dynamic processes that are defined historically. The hypothesis is that agroecosystems are the product of the interdependence of a diversity of actors (present and absent) and, therefore, constitute complex social interfaces, which, in order to address them, require a new understanding of the centrality of the actors and their capacity for agency. Then, regarding this complexity, some aspects are not clearly defined in the systemic approach which need to be more explicit such as: (a) the implicit psychosocial aspects and (b) the relationships with their social environment, how these affect them and are affected by them. The purpose of this document is to suggest a theoretical and conceptual approach to correct these unclear areas. First, the centrality of actors (including their agency capacity) in the AES is recognized. Besides, their interdependence with the diversity of actors (present and absent) and therefore the need to analyze the AES complex social interfaces.

Abstract The first Slovenian novel is yet to be read in a way that is both comparative and sociological. For while Slovenian studies treats the emergence of the Slovenian novel sociologically but not comparatively, comparative literature studies views it comparatively yet not sociologically. This gap can be filled by the perspective of the literary world-system. Moreover, this viewpoint can subtilize the thesis of Slovenian studies that the belatedness of the Slovenian novel is part of the belatedness of the Slovenian bourgeoisie as well as the comparatist thesis that the Slovenian novel became possible only after the end of the possibility of the traditional European novel. The world-systemic approach can grasp this belatedness as a social fact that speaks less of the Slovenian novel’s essence than of the structural relations between Slovenian culture and its European social environment.

Abstract In order to examine the theme of Arab humanism by means of a conceptual approach, we shall look into the classic work by the famous author Abū Ḥayyān al-Tawḥīdī: Kitāb al-Imtāʿ wa’l-muʾānasa (The Book of Enjoyment and Conviviality). We shall mainly focus on one of the most significant philosophical aspects of his work—the soul. This study will examine various concepts and definitions of the soul, its relationship with human body and mind, its immortality, which are part and parcel of humanity. The author states that intellectuals disagree as to their definition of the soul, and their multifarious opinions leave us in bewilderment. This paper’s aim is to engage in a discussion about soul so as to grasp its importance in Tawḥīdī. Broaching the question, this philosopher of litterateurs and the litterateur of philosophers presents his ideas according to his background as a Muslim intellectual and in accordance with the cultural aspects of his time and his social environment. This paper attempts to provide an overview of the author’s moral and philosophical ideas.

The article proposes a conceptual approach to transport services quality management. It is based on the principles of logistical management, management of relationships with consumers, harmonization of the enterprise management system based on the quality and the use of principles of a synergetic systemic approach. The synergetic systemic approach presupposes the formation of a self-organizing quality management system for transport services (cybernetic adaptive, in which the accumulation of experience, the memorization and structuring of information is expressed in a change in the structure of the system and the level of its organization). The scientific novelty of the proposed approach to transport services quality management consists in the integration of the principles of the TQM concept and logistics, the application of a variable approach to selecting technologies for improving the processes of transport and logistics services; comparison of consumer assessment of motor transport services with an evaluation of the quality of processes of its formation. The proposed methodological approach to evaluation takes into account the influence of integrated processes on the final result formation, as well as the effectiveness of each process execution. The implementation of this approach will provide a reasonable choice of methods for providing and improving the quality of transport services, the effectiveness of creating/improving the management system.

Chemical reactions at a surface will in most cases show a measurable influence on the work function of the clean surface. This change of the work function δφ can be used to image the local distributions of the investigated reaction,.if one of the reacting partners is adsorbed at the surface in form of islands of sufficient size (Δ>0.2μm). These can than be visualized via a photoemission electron microscope (PEEM). Changes of φ as low as 2 meV give already a change in the total intensity of a PEEM picture. To achieve reasonable contrast for an image several 10 meV of δφ are needed. Dynamic processes as surface diffusion of CO or O on single crystal surfaces as well as reaction / diffusion fronts have been observed in real time and space.

Aim: The aim of this article is to work out the differential significance of risk factors of media usage, personality and social environment in order to explain problematic video game usage in childhood and adolescence. Method: Data are drawn from the Berlin Longitudinal Study Media, a four-year longitudinal control group study with 1 207 school children. Data from 739 school children who participated at 5th and 6th grade were available for analysis. Result: To explain the development of problematic video game usage, all three areas, i. e. specific media usage patterns, certain aspects of personality and certain factors pertaining to social environment, must be taken into consideration. Video game genre, video gaming in reaction to failure in the real world (media usage), the children’s/adolescents’ academic self-concept (personality), peer problems and parental care (social environment) are of particular significance. Conclusion: The results of the study emphasize that in future – and above all also longitudinal – studies different factors regarding social environment must also be taken into account with the recorded variables of media usage and personality in order to be able to explain the construct of problematic video game usage. Furthermore, this will open up possibilities for prevention.
