Smart spring support is a kind of active damping device based on piezoelectric material. It can effectively suppress the vibration of a shaft system in an overly critical state by changing the stiffness and damping of the support. The support parameters have a significant impact on the vibration of the system. By studying the influence of the smart spring support parameters on the vibration characteristics of the transmission shaft system, the support parameters can be configured more reasonably so that the vibration of the transmission system can be reduced as much as possible. Based on the finite element method, this paper studies the influence of the stiffness, damping and mass of the smart spring support on the vibration characteristics of the three-support shafting. Firstly, the smart spring shafting test bed is built, and the vibration reduction performance test of the smart spring is carried out to verify the damping effect of the smart spring. Then, the shafting dynamic model is established by the finite element method, and the inherent characteristics of the system are analyzed. Finally, the influence of the stiffness, damping, mass and other parameters of the smart spring support on the dynamic response of the system is studied. The results show that increasing the stiffness of the smart spring support can effectively reduce the vibration amplitude of the system. The damping of the smart spring support has no obvious effect on the vibration of the shafting. The smaller the mass of the smart spring support, the more favorable the system is.

Bellows can be used as collapse elements for automotive steering columns. The crash performance of the steering column can be significantly improved with the bellows. However, the bending flexibility of the bellows has negative effects on the vibration characteristics. An effort is made to improve the vibration characteristics of steering columns with bellows. To understand the effects of various design parameters on the collapse and vibration, sensitivity analyses are performed by the finite element method using Taguchi's scheme. It is shown that the structure of the upper mounting bracket is the most important parameter affecting the vibration characteristics. An optimal design is proposed for a lower tilt type steering column.

In this study, the building roof heat insulation structure was experiment and analysis. The simple approximation of a theory of thermal resistance network of the heat insulating structure was analyzed. The finite element method is proposed to evaluate the thermal characteristics of building components. The comparison between the finite element method and the thermal resistance network method was conducted by testing the thermal resistance of a concrete hollow block. Through the analysis of finite element method, the thermal resistance network and experimental validated, it is concluded the finite element analysis not only to calculated accuracy requirements but also has application in the form of the type of hole, material composition, intuitive analysis results. In the absence of test conditions or thermal performance test is not required, it is recommended to use finite element method to analyze problems.

The free-vibration characteristics of shrouded blade packets are studied using the finite-element method. The effects of various weight ratios, flexural rigidity ratios and length ratios between the blades and shrouds on the frequencies of vibration of the blade packet are investigated. It is shown that the vibration characteristics of a multibladed packet can be predicted with reasonable accuracy from the inference diagram of a two-bladed packet. The theory developed can be easily adapted for more complex blade packet configurations. The results presented for the frequencies of vibration are compared with experimental results and show good agreement with those of other investigators.
