In this paper, we develop a novel classification algorithm that is based on the integration between competitive learning and the computational power of quantum computing. The proposed algorithm classifies an input into one of two binary classes even if the input pattern is incomplete. We use the entanglement measure after applying unitary operators to conduct the competition between neurons in order to find the winning class based on wining-take-all. The novelty of the proposed algorithm is shown in its application to the quantum computer. Our idea is validated via classifying the state of Reactor Coolant Pump of a Risky Nuclear Power Plant and compared with other quantum-based competitive neural networks model.

What is the computational power of a quantum computer? We show that determining the output of a quantum computation is equivalent to counting the number of solutions to an easily computed set of polynomials defined over the finite field Z_2. This connection allows simple proofs to be given for two known relationships between quantum and classical complexity classes, namely BQP/P/\#P and BQP/PP.

In the last two decades, the interest in quantum computation has increased significantly among research communities. Quantum computing is the field that investigates the computational power and other properties of computers on the basis of the underlying quantum-mechanical principles. The main purpose is to find quantum algorithms that are significantly faster than any existing classical algorithms solving the same problem. While the quantum computers currently freely available to wider public count no more than two dozens of qubits, and most recently developed quantum devices offer some 50-60 qubits, quantum computer hardware is expected to grow in terms of qubit counts, fault tolerance, and resistance to decoherence. The main objective of this chapter is to present an introduction to the core quantum computing algorithms developed thus far for the field of cryptography.

The reactor coolant pump in nuclear power plant is the only revolving equipment in the nuclear power plant. Its functional stability will directly affect the security of nuclear power plant. The coolant pump of a very nuclear plant is examined by using response spectrum analysis to analysis dynamic characteristics and responses aiming at finding the natural frequencies of vibration, modes of vibration and seismic responses, and any possible step which may cause damage of the whole system. The favorable spectrum and unfavorable one are investigated as well. The paper focuses on avoiding the detrimental effects caused by earthquakes, therefore may lay down a theoretical foundation for structural design and installation.

This paper provides a discussion of various RELAP5 parameters calculated for the investigation of the nuclear power reactor parameter behavior in case of switching on one main coolant pump (MCP) when the other three MCPs are in operation. The reference power plant for this analysis is Unit 6 at the Kozloduy Nuclear Power Plant (NPP) site. Operational data from Kozloduy NPP have been used for the purpose of assessing how the RELAP5 model compares against plant data. During the plant-commissioning phase at Kozloduy NPP Unit 6 a number of experiments have been performed. One of them is switching on MCP when the other three MCPs are in operation. The event is characterized by rapid increase in the flow through the core resulting in a coolant temperature decrease, which leads to insertion of positive reactivity due to the modeled feedback mechanisms. This investigation has been conducted by Bulgarian and Russian specialists on the stage when the reactor power was at 75% of the nominal level. The purpose of the experiment was the complete testing of reliability of all power plant equipment, testing the reliability of the main regulators and defining a jump of the neutron reactor power in case of switching on of one main coolant pump. The Institute for Nuclear Research and Nuclear Energy - Bulgarian Academy of Sciences (INRNE-BAS), Sofia, and Kozloduy NPP have been developing a RELAP5/MOD3.2 model for Kozloduy NPP VVER-1000 for investigation of operational occurrences, abnormal events, and design basis scenarios. This investigation is a process that compares the analytical results obtained by the RELAP5 computer model of the VVER-1000 against the experimental transient data received from the Kozloduy NPP Unit 6. The comparisons between the RELAP5 results and the test data indicate good agreement. This report was possible through the participation of leading specialists from Kozloduy NPP and with the support of Argonne National Laboratory, under the International Nuclear Safety Program (INSP) of the United States Department of Energy.

Touching upon that the crack fault of the rotor may occur after the reactor coolant pump (RCP) has operated a long time, the fault feature can be identified effectively by the method of the wavelet analysis. In this research, based on the simulation signal of crack fault and the method of discrete wavelet transform (DWT), the cross-correlation coefficients between the fault signal and the different wavelet basis which are selected from the wavelet basis library can be computed. After confirming the maximum of the cross-correlation coefficients, the optimal wavelet basis applied to the fault signal of the cracked rotor will be found. And the main frequency component of the fault feature is recognized by use of the wavelet packet transform (WPT) based on the optimal wavelet basis. The results of simulation illustrate that the wavelet basis selected by the maximum cross-correlation coefficients can become the optimal wavelet basis, and the fault feature of the cracked rotor can be recognized effectively.

The reactor coolant pump (RCP) is one of the most important components in nuclear power plants. It operated in high temperature, high-pressure, high speed and radiative environment, so a long-term security and reliable operations is required. Many internal flow analysis of RCPs was carried out, mainly foucs on steady and unsteady flow field at different operating points in RCP. The research about flow passage components, such as the blade of the RCP, is relatively few. When the RCPs operates in the nuclear power plant, the flow field lashed against the impeller of the RCP, results in a network of small cracks is found on the surface of impeller. For example, periodic vibration caused by a break in a guide vane leaded to cracking of two pieces blades of impeller in a large power plant in southwest of China, and this accident caused much economic loss. The computational method of stress due to the hydraulic reason is an important problem of the RCP. In this work, at first the CFD simulation including the case, guide vane, impeller, inlet and outlet at different operation points is studied, and the result of the pressure distribution on impeller blade is loaded on the impeller using fluid-structure interation (FSI) method. The result showed that the maximum von Mises stress appears on the trailing edge close to the impeller hub which has a large change in gradient of stress and which is prone to fatigue failure. The maximum stress on the impeller is mainly in proportion to the operating power. The maximum stress on the impeller have periodical characteristic, which is due to the number of blade of diffuser. All of these equip us with better understand of the fatigue and fracture of RCP, and it make sense to protect the fatigue damage and promote the stability of RCP.
