In this work we describe the installation of a real-time, fiber-optic strain monitoring system aboard a US Navy vessel undergoing sea trials. The system is lightweight, unintrusive, corrosion resistant, and provides dynamic strain response measurements from direct current (DC) up to 360 Hz. Also described are the data acquisition and subsequent analysis. The goals of the study were to demonstrate a fiber-optic strain monitoring system under real world conditions and to better understand the source of deck cracking above an area housing mission-critical components. The results of the two-day trial indicate that there exist large stresses in the deck plate during normal ship operation. Based on the results, it is clear that ship maneuvers, slewing of the radar located on the deck plate, and insolation-related effects are not the primary source of the observed stress.

Continuous welded rail maintenance plays a significant role in ensuring high levels of rail traffic and safety. Temperature variations, excessive alignment defects, decreased fastening system resistance and train braking (always in the same stretches and in the same direction) may result in rail buckling or rail breaks. The current traditional monitoring systems and procedures for continuous welded rail consist of programmed discontinuous diagnostic surveys that require personnel intervention on site. Moreover, these traditional systems often imply destructive and invasive operations on the track that may lead to interruption of railway operations. This paper proposes a Rail Strain Monitoring System (RSMS) that performs a real-time rail strain monitoring and allows rail inspection without personnel on site. Using strain gauges and temperature sensors, placed on the rail in specific measurement points, the proposed Rail Strain Monitoring System performs a multi-parameter check by measuring, at the same time, the temperature, the rail strain and the neutral temperature of the rail. The paper describes the mode of operation of the Rail Strain Monitoring System, the calibration procedure and the results from the field, and highlights the advantages of this system in comparison to other traditional monitoring systems. The safety improvement that can be achieved with the application of the Rail Strain Monitoring System is analysed. In particular, the reliability of the system is evaluated and compared to the human error probability in the traditional manual inspections. Finally, the reduction of derailment risk and related economic damages is estimated.

This paper analyzes the current real-time monitoring system based on grey-related IoT security sensors for the detection of risk factors in the production environment of the Internet of Things and proposes a design plan for the Internet of Things environment monitoring based on the grey-related Internet of Things security sensor network, and according to the reliability guarantee mechanism of the system, a three-dimensional uniform IoT node deployment method suitable for IoT security monitoring is proposed. Based on the grey correlation analysis, it can provide a quantitative measurement analysis for the development and change state of a system, which is very suitable for the analysis of dynamic operating systems. As a real-time dynamic system of the Internet of Things, the use of grey correlation method to analyze its network security status has good operability and practical value. According to the multisource information processing technology, the monitoring data are preprocessed by dynamic limiting filtering, and then the data are fused at the data level with the optimal weighting algorithm. Through the use of grey correlation analysis to quantify the relative impact of cyberattacks on the network within a certain period of time, the quantitative assessment of the security environment and status of the entire network is realized. Finally, the characteristics of grey relational analysis and rough set theory attribute reduction are used to form the basis of grey correlation decision-level fusion algorithm, to achieve effective processing of the data of the Internet of Things security monitoring system.

Along with the times, recently there have been found tool to facilitate human’s work. Electronics is one of technology to facilitate human’s work. One of human desire is being safe, so that people think to make a tool which can monitor the surrounding condition without being monitored with people’s own eyes. Public awareness of the underground water channels currently felt still very little so frequent floods. To avoid the flood disaster monitoring needs to be done to underground water channels. This tool is controlled via a web browser. for the components used in this monitoring system is the Raspberry Pi technology where the system can take pictures in real time with the help of Logitech C170 webcam camera. web browser and Raspberry Pi make everyone can control the devices around with using smartphone, laptop, computer and ipad. This research is expected to be able to help the users in knowing the blockage on water flow and monitored around in realtime.

The correlation and spectral properties of a multicomponent narrowband periodical non-stationary random signal (PNRS) and its Hilbert transformation are considered. It is shown that multicomponent narrowband PNRS differ from the monocomponent signal. This difference is caused by correlation of the quadratures for the different carrier harmonics. Such features of the analytic signal must be taken into account when we use the Hilbert transform for the analysis of real time series.

Cardiovascular disease is one of the major diseases that threaten the human health. But the existing electrocardiograph (ECG) monitoring system has many limitations in practical application. In order to monitor ECG in real time, a portable ECG monitoring system based on the Android platform is developed to meet the needs of the public. The system uses BMD101 ECG chip to collect and process ECG signals in the Android system, where data storage and waveform display of ECG data can be realized. The Bluetooth HC-07 module is used for ECG data transmission. The abnormal ECG can be judged by P wave, QRS bandwidth, and RR interval. If abnormal ECG is found, an early warning mechanism will be activated to locate the user’s location in real time and send preset short messages, so that the user can get timely treatment, avoiding dangerous occurrence. The monitoring system is convenient and portable, which brings great convenie to the life of ordinary cardiovascular users.
