In this paper, a multiband noncontact temperature-measuring microwave radiometer system is developed. The system can passively receive the microwave signal of the core temperature field of the human body without removing the clothes of the measured person. In order to accurately measure the actual temperature of multilayer tissue in human core temperature field, four frequency bands of 4–6 GHz, 8–12 GHz, 12–16 GHz, and 14–18 GHz were selected for multifrequency design according to the internal tissue depth model of human body and the relationship between skin depth and electromagnetic frequency. Used to measure the actual temperature of human epidermis, dermis, and subcutaneous tissue, a small and highly directional multiband angular horn antenna was designed for the radiometer front end. After the error analysis of the full-power microwave radiometer, a novel hardware architecture of the microwave interferometric temperature-measuring radiometer is proposed, and it is proven that the novel interferometric microwave radiometer has less error uncertainty through theoretical deduction. The experimental results show that the maximum detection sensitivity of the novel interferometric microwave temperature-measuring radiometer is 215 mV/dBm, and the temperature sensitivity is 0.047 K/mV. Compared with the scheme of the full-power radiometer, the detection sensitivity is increased 7.45-fold, and the temperature sensitivity is increased 13.89-fold.

In this paper, the key technology of interferometric microwave thermometer is studied, the research can be applied to the temperature measurement of human body and subcutaneous tissue. This paper proposes a hardware architecture of interferometric microwave thermometer with 2 GHz bandwidth, in which the phase shifter is used to correct phase error and the quadrature demodulator is used to realize autocorrelation detection function. The results show that when input power is 7 dBm, the detection sensitivity can reach 176.54 mV/dBm and the temperature resolution of the microwave radiometer can reach 0.4 K. Correction algorithm is designed to improve the accuracy of temperature measurement. After correction, the phase error is reduced from 40° to 1.4° and when temperature changes 0.1 °C, the voltage value changes obviously. Step-by-step calibration and overall calibration are used to calibrate the device. Inversion algorithm can determine the relationship between physical temperature and output voltage. The mean square error of water temperature inversion by multiple linear regression algorithm is 0.607 and that of BP neural network algorithm is 0.334. The inversion accuracy can be improved by reducing the temperature range. Our work provides a promising realization of accurate, rapid and non-contact detection device of human body temperature.

The concept of the novel Short Helical Combustor (SHC) was investigated in our previous work [1, 2]. Based on the insight gained from these previous investigations, we propose a generic design improvement to address the tremendous loss of initial angular momentum as well as inhomogeneous flow and temperature field at the outlet of the SHC. In the present paper, the main features of this design are introduced. It is shown that a three-dimensional shaping of the sidewalls, the dome, and the liners can effectively counteract the suboptimal interaction of the swirl flames with these surrounding walls. As a result, the flow at the outlet of the combustor features a high angular momentum and exhibits a uniform flow angle and temperature field. The insight gained from these generic investigations, and the resulting design optimization provides a useful framework for further industrial optimization of the SHC.

This thesis is an analysis of a novel written by Celeste Ng entitled Little Fires Everywhere (2017). This analysis looks at the commodification and alienation that is experienced by women who involved in surrogacy and adoption. This analysis employes Marxist literary theory to explain the phenomena in the novel. The analysis focuses on two issues of commodification and alienation that are proposed by Karl Marx as seen through two female protagonists which are Mia Warren and Bebe Chow. This analysis also depends a lot on the narrator to determine which parts of the novel are used as the data. The result of the study shows that Mia Warren experienced commodification of the human body and four kinds of alienation such as alienation from the product of labor, alienation from the act of production, alienation from the species being, and alienation from other people bacause she becomes a surrogate mother. The other protagonist, Bebe Chow, also experienced four kinds of alienation because her child is adopted.

In Cecile Pineda’s novel Face (1985), protagonist Helio Cara loses his face in a tragic accident. The novel documents the aftermath of his misfortune, as Helio grapples with his changing social world and strives to remake himself, piecing together both his face and the story of his life. In Face, Pineda works through the complex nexus of visible and invisible, focusing on the present absence of the human body and how Helio is variously seen and obscured as he moves through the city after his accident. In tracing Helio’s path from seen to unseen and back again, Face documents how community gathers around and through the human body, how Helio’s face galvanizes different groups into action. In this chapter, the author argues that contemporary photographers Stefan Ruiz and Ken Gonzales-Day deploy the body similarly to emphasize not the unique histories attached to individual bodies but rather the communal networks gathered around the bodies featured in their photographs. Like Face, the two photographers’ work can be seen as an extended project of reintegrating the brown body into historical memory and rescripting its political future away from subjectivity and rights and toward networks, institutions, and issues.

The novel and self-obtained concept of this paper is that living tissues get help self-assembling by following some mechanical equations. The simple diagnostic act of checking someone’s blood pressure reminds us that the human body is a pressurized object, and blood moving throughout the pressurized body creates flows that are strikingly similar to the movements of fluids in pressurized machines. Self-assembly using two mechanical concepts and their equations is herein demonstrated for the first time to show the separation of healthy daughter cells and the nonseparation of aneuploid cells, and to show monosaccharide and disaccharide movements.

A closed cylindrical shell with circular cross-section having constant stiffness and density and subjected to sign changeable loading and embedded into a temperature field is analyzed. Both Bubnov–Galerkin (with a higher approximation) and Fourier methods are applied to solve the derived nonlinear nondimensional partial differential equations. Among others, the novel scenario of transition from shell harmonic to chaotic vibrations via the collapse of quasi-periodic vibrations with one independent frequency and Hopf bifurcation is detected, illustrated and discussed. In addition, it is shown how for various intensities of the temperature field (including its absence) the increase of the loading yields qualitative changes in the investigated shell dynamics, and how chaotic zones are transmitted into periodic ones and vice versa.

This paper delves into Charles Dickens’s objectivity of the events of the French Revolution and his unique stand and transparency in his representation for the two great power rivals and their prolonged conflict. The pre-revolutionary period was remarkable for the tyranny, cruelty, Socioeconomic-Inequality, and Subjugation of the Barbarous aristocratic rule against the masses. Conversely, the post-revolutionary period underwent sweeping social and political chaos and the form of administration set after the revolution was not a democracy, as French people were fond of calling it, but a mischievous and shameful anarchy lasted from 1789 until 1799. This discussion is an attempt to analyze and sort out a complex of hostile relationships involving the aristocrats and the peasants of A Tale of Two Cities. Dickens’ universal appeal indicates that whoever is in authority, aristocracy or masses, will get lavishly tempted to practice their full power depressingly and be obsessed with the dilemma of the establishment of the supremacy and dictatorship at any cost ignoring other’s right in decent life , freedom ,and equal opportunity. As the novel advanced, oppression is shown to breed oppression; violence to beget violence, evil to provoke evil. Instead of progress there is something more like the catastrophic continuum and piling wreckage upon wreckage.
