From the perspective of media protocol control and routing of directional wireless ad hoc sensors networks, neighbor discovery protocol is an important problem to be solved first. In the past period of time, some methods have been studied on neighbor discovery protocol, but they have a common defect of link collision. The collision is caused by mutual interference of multiple transmitting nodes which are in one reception beam of the receiving node. To solve this problem, we propose a neighbor discovery algorithm using a bi-directional carrier sense collision avoidance and multi subchannels based on a scan-based algorithm (BD-SBA). Based on a scan-based algorithm (SBA), bi-directional carrier sense of the BD-SBA algorithm is performed in the first broadcast step which can reduce the collision of broadcasting the scanning request (SREQ) frames. In the second step (the reply step), the mechanism of multiple subchannels and multiple slots is applied to reduce the collision of the scanning response (SRES) frames. From the analysis and simulation, we can see that nodes using proposed algorithm can discover their neighbor nodes in fewer time. Moreover, the proposed algorithm has better performance for different beamwidths and densely distributed scenes. So it has great significance in engineering application.

Aiming at the problem of slow neighbor discovery speed of sector antenna neighbor discovery (SAND) protocol based single token, an asynchronous sector antenna neighbor discovery protocol based double tokens (D-SAND) is proposed. The double tokens include one master token and one slave token. The master token holder (MTH) starts its neighbor nodes discovery process by sending hone-in message through beam scanning, and ends this process when each neighbor node is discovered. Then, MTH passes the master token to the next hop master token holder (nMTH). At the same time, MTH sends the location information of the nMTH node to its parent master token holder (MTP) from which it obtains its token. MTP determines whether to generate a slave token according to that if there exists a neighbor node with a distance greater than 2R from nMTH, where R represents the communication distance. If there exists one such neighbor, MTP generates a slave token and passes it to that neighbor node, who can begin the neighbor discovering process. The time conditions are theoretically derived when these two tokens begin their neighbor discovering process respectively and without interference to each other. Simulation results show that compared to Q-SAND(quick-SAND), the proposed D-SAND protocol reduces the network-wide neighbor discovery time about by 10%.

In this paper, the authors propose a simple concept for emergency information dissemination in vehicular ad-hoc networks. Instead of competing for the shared wireless medium when transmitting the emergency information, the authors’ proposed method requires nodes to cooperate by synchronizing their transmissions. The proposed scheme is backward compatible with IEEE 802.11p carrier sense multiple access with collision avoidance. The authors also briefly address some of the implementation issues of the proposed scheme.

Under the term “Hilfe zur Arbeit” (aid for work) the federal law of social welfare subsumes all kinds of labour disciplining instruments. First, the paper shows the historical connection of welfare and labour disciplining mechanisms in the context of different periods within capitalist development. In a second step, against the background of historical experiences, we will analyse the trends of “Hilfe zur Arbeit” during the past two decades. It will be shown that by the rise of unemployment, the impact of labour disciplining aspects of “Hilfe zur Arbeit” has increased both on the federal and on the municipal level. For this reason the leverage of the liberal paradigm would take place even in the core of social rights.

This article deals mainly with new forms of Intra-European migration, processes of integration and inequality, and the dynamics of emerging transnational labour markets in Europe. We discuss these issues against the background of fundamental changes which have been taking place on the European continent over the past two decades. Drawing on available comparative European data, we examine, in a first step, whether the changes in intra-European migration patterns have been accompanied by a differentiation of the causes of migration. In a second step, we discuss the extent to which new forms of transnational labour markets have been emerging within Europe and their effects on systems of social stratification.
