Uncertainty is intrinsic in most of the complex systems, especially when the systems have to interact with the physical environment; therefore, handling uncertainty is critical in the Internet of Things (IoT). In this paper, we propose a semantic-based approach to build the belief network in IoT systems to handle the uncertainties. Semantics is the functionality description of any system component. Semantic Match mechanisms can construct the appropriate structures to compare the consistency between different sources of data based on the same functionality. In the approach, we define the belief property of every system component and develop the related algorithms to update the belief value. Furthermore, the related mechanisms and algorithms for data fusion and fault detection based on the belief property are described to explain how the approach works in the IoT systems. Several simulation experiments are used to evaluate the proposed approach, and the results indicate that the approach can work as expected. More accurate data are fused from the inaccurate devices and the fault in one node is automatically detected.

The present cyber-physical schemes and the Internet of Things (IoT) schemes comprise of both complex and simple interactions defining the different sources of the IoT systems such as cloud information and the edge internet service centres. All the modeling frameworks have been established on the virtualization dimensions that include both the cloud and the edge structures. Apart from that, the systems deal with big data based on the connections of various forms of services and networks. In that case, various forms of data uncertainties are evident. These uncertainties include elasticity and actuation uncertainties. As a result, this leads to a number of challenges that affect the process of testing these uncertainties in the big data systems. Nonetheless, there is a research gap present to effectively model and design the precise infrastructure frameworks that handle the necessities for evaluating these emergent big data uncertainties. With that regard, this scholastic paper focusses on the techniques used to generate and determine the deployment configurations used in the process of evaluating both the cloud and IoT systems. In this research, the survey will consider the actual-world application for analysing and monitoring the transceiver frameworks.

The “Internet of Things” (IoT) brings the notion of heterogeneous objects using ubiquitous technologies to interact among them and with the physical environment through technologies such as Bluetooth, ZigBee, GPRS, NFC, QR code, among others. Based on the possibility of linking ordinary objects from the physical world to the Internet, this paper proposes and details a platform called TagHunt, for creating and playing scavenger hunt games. This platform leverages on smartphones’ capability to interact with ordinary objects using IoT-based technologies such as NFC and QR Code, stimulating the player to interact with physical environments looking for “clues” in the game.

The successful development of big data and the internet of things (IoT) is increasing and influencing all areas of technologies and businesses. The rapid increase of more devices that are connected to IoT from which enormous amount of data are consumed indicates the way how big data is related with IoT. Since huge amount of data are obtained from different sources, analysis of these data involves much of processing at each and every level to extract knowledge for decision making process. To manage big data in a continuous network that keeps expanding leads to few issues related to data collection, data processing, analytics, and security. To address these issues, certain solution using bigdata approach in IoT are examined. Combining these two areas provides several opportunities developing new systems and identify advanced techniques to solve challenges on big data and IoT.

Cloud computing has proven itself and is accepted in industrial applications. Cloud computing is based on the co-existence and co-working of various technologies and services from different sources that together make cloud computing a success. Over the last few years, the Internet of Things (IoT) has been widely studied and being applied. The blending of these two efficient technologies may provide an intelligent perception about usage of resources on demand and efficient sharing. The adoption of these two different technologies and usage is likely to be more and more pervasive, making them important components of the future internet-based systems. This chapter focuses on the deployment models of cloud computing in relation to IoT. The implications of cloud computing in view of deployment are discussed. The issues for deployment and optimization related to the merger of IoT with cloud computing are raised.

With the continuous development of social economy, sports has become one of the important ways of physical exercise, and the demand for corresponding sports facilities is also increasing. The Internet of Things technology is introduced in this paper. Through combining the current status of urban public sports, an urban public sports sharing system is built by trial, to promote the sharing of urban public sports information through the continuous development of new technologies such as the Internet and improve the publicity and popularization of public sports information. Simulation experiments prove that the Internet of Things technology is effective and can effectively support the sharing of urban public sports information.
